Honestly I would be sadder to loose the group than the character so I'm hoping we can all find some way to continue running with these or different characters. I mostly feel Rellen died fair and square, natural twenties happen and he had simply not reached the heights for magical resurrection of any stripe to be practical. That said if you guys can find a method to retrieve his gear and can use it towards reviving Chasik, and if that is PFS legal, you have my whole hearted blessing to do so. I think my next character is going to be from the Wolfsmane encampment, I do not like the idea of replicating a character but an homage to one who is almost deliberately distinct can be agreeable.

I do appreciate the thought Knorrin, but I kinda like having consequences for death. Honestly I'm finding myself a bit over committed anyway and much as I would love to finish things with you guys I don't really see it being viable. Vesparo would be the most appropriate character I have and he's not the damage dealer Rellen is, and though I have two GM credits I could only get him up to one off third - after his current game. Maybe I could push it by DMing four fast paced games, but that would be a big commitment and I would basically have to get them finished in my week off coming at the beginning of March. Probably too much of an ask, though I'm tempted to try. Hmmm, maybe if you guys were to run a couple of scenarios that would allow a lower tier character in? I'm assuming we would want to be at the higher end of the levels field from now on?

My advice is beat a fighting retreat, try to have Chasik take its attacks while you chip away with ranged abilities and heal, etc. Above all avoid full attacks and hope it does not have pounce! If you need to flee maybe pick up a couple of feather token whips or summoning scrolls before fighting again?

I don't think its worth it at this point Chasik. Usually my rather vague rule is level 5+ for resurrection anything else seems to be cost prohibitive, and I believe the only PFS way to get raised is to spend prestiege which I do not have - think its 8 points off the top of my head. Saddens me to say it, but the best plan is probably to sign up another damage dealer. I've got no other characters of this level sadly, and none that could really fill Rellen's role in anycase.

Letting his rage enfold him Rellen surges into the room leaping up onto the wall and hurtling past the creature facing Chasik before tearing free his coldiron blade. He flings his scabbard at the southernmost creature while smashing at the foe to the north with his greatsword. Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20

Well I would rather take the risk personally, its a lot of gold for something that auto heals after one encounter - and which is reasonably likely not to come up. Even if it does Rellen has a decent ranged mode, and worst case scenario he would only be unconscious not dead. How about we buy a couple of scrolls, but do not use them? If Rellen gets hit we can use one to get him back up, if not we still have the scrolls. That way there is no chance its just a big fat waste of money.

I am pretty sure you can hire hireling in PFS, there is a debate about it over on the PFS forums, but its on whether you can hire hirelings to accompany you into danger. Everyone seems to agree you can hire them outside of that. I would like to finish up the series, but I would be very sad to see Choamski go. Perhaps we could appeal to some other GM? Or here's an idea we could sign GM Lithrac up as a player which is less time consuming.

There appears to be no time constraint can we hire a healer? I believe there is one in the NPC codex with a +9. If we were to hire one for one day who could care for six of use in 24 hours we would all recover 4 ability score damage and Knorrin could prepare some spells. I am not sure whether ability score damage would heal at four points per score or four in total - anyone know? I've had a brief look and its not clear to me. I had been toying with the thought of suggesting a sort of RP event at some point. Maybe a chance where we could more of less GM Lithrac a bit of a rest and do some light RP, and I was considering having Rellen marry Chief Wolfsmane's daughter. Only a very vague notion at this point, but I think it would be great fun and an excellent way for the characters to bond, etc. We could invite the important NPCs, of the town, etc. I don't imagine it would cause any problems with PFS play as long as we do not gain anything tangible, and from what GM Lithrac has said it does not seem like the town is connected in any real way with the modules. Thoughts? Anyway I thought that healing wisdom and charisma damage naturally would probably be akin to rebuilding the psyche. So if the chieftain's daughter was a healer and spend a day essentially digging into Rellen's heart and soul it would provide a very compelling reason to become close to someone quickly. Also I am cheap and I need to buy a lot of swords :)

Rellen's eyes flash and his jaw tightens, but he controls himself and growls, "They've hurt my mind, but men heal. We face a normal foe I'll be fine, I'll just hang back while you investigate the objects. I am not paying good gold for something a bit of rest can handle. What is the point of adventuring if you do not take a few risks." I suppose we could just get Knorrin to prepare some.

The right one, because I think Chasik would have given the other soft cover? If that is not the case whichever moved first. Rellen shakes himself off steps back from the creature and selects another ghost salted arrow with care sending it into the shadow thing. Ghost Salted Arrow: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 20 Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 2 = 9

At work so don't have my books, but here is what it does. I believe I just picked it from herolab, which I have set to PFS only for Rellen, but I have the book so I'll give you a page number in a few hours costs 200gp. PFSRD wrote: Ghost Salt: This gritty alchemical powder is made from exotic minerals mixed with an infusion crafted from the ectoplasmic remains of destroyed incorporeal undead. When rubbed onto a weapon that is then placed over a hot flame for a full round, ghost salt melts and forms a temporary coating on the weapon. The blanching gives the weapon the ability to do full damage to incorporeal creatures, even if the weapon itself is non-magical. An application of ghost salt remains effective until the weapon makes a successful attack. Each dose of weapon blanch can coat one weapon or up to 10 pieces of ammunition. Only one kind of weapon blanch can be on a weapon at one time.

Gritting his teeth and snarling in frustration Rellen nocks another blunt arrow and fires at the ugly glob monster. He then pulls a vial from his bandolier and holds it out, "This crap is meant to be effective against oozes. Least that's what the sheister I bought it from said." Anyone fancy flinging an alkali flask? Should do 2d6 against an ooze, Rellen's probably better off using his bow. Blunt Arrow: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 3 + 1 = 8

Whoops could have sworn it still said nauseated. Sorry for the delay. Snarling Rellen shakes off his sickness and forces himself into a ragged canter as he rips free a sword sending scabbard and then blade thumping home into his gross plant foe. Fling Scabbard: 1d20 + 7 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 7 + 1 + 1 = 28 Damage: 1d8 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 4 + 1 = 9

To be clear the action Rellen takes is closing the door. He would happily accept Choamski's aid after that, but I am not willing to have my actions dictated. I do not believe I have done anything that means I should loose my control over my character and see no reason why I should compromise my choice of actions. Perhaps I am being a tad petty but I really do not understand why we are not simply going with the action of the players character. Choamski, I absolutely understand you had no intent to dictate, etc.
