With a questioning look at the others, Relisha awkwardly hops up onto the platform as it begins to rise.
As Sylyn works, Relisha offers a quick prayer to her goddess and places a supportive hand on the woman's shoulder.
Relisha takes a step up, the katana in her hand bursting into flames as she swings at one of the icy undead.

Relish is unable to hide the shy grin that hijacks her face and her attempt to continue being stern in her protectiveness suffers by it. Even without the grin, the fact that her face turns the color of a ripe tomato shows how much the simple touch of lips on her skin affects her. "Well, yes ... I ... of course ..." she stammers out before checking the woman's gloves one more time as well as taking a long look at Ameiko's face. Entirely in her capacity as a healer checking for damage from the cold, of course. Realizing that she's staring at the woman's eyes she clears her throat. "Um ... well I best be off to check the others," she finally says before taking her leave. ~~~~~ "I don't know how quiet we're going to be," the healer says with a frown as she gazes out at the tower and causeway. "But those things aren't going away just because we want them to."
Relisha is kept busy battling the threat of frostbitten extremities in her companions to pay too much attention to the beautiful but deadly terrain. If she's spending extra time tending to the future empress of Minkai, that might be explained by the care her station warrants. Sometimes that extra care, though, is expressed in less than diplomatic terms. "Dammit, Ameiko! I told you to keep those gloves on!" she snaps, finding the young woman, again, handling the reins to her wagon herself instead of letting one of the others lead it. Purposefully ignoring how the tiny white crystals of ice transform the Tian woman's face into that of a otherworldly fairy princess, she snatches the leather straps from the cold hands. After checking for any tell-tale signs, she shoves the fur-lined gloves back on Ameiko's hands. "Please," she says in a softer voice. "Your hands are too beautiful to start losing fingers."
Relisha insists that the banner is affixed to Ameiko's wagon, ignoring any protests the empress-in-exile may make. She questions to find out how long it will take to travel to the Storm Tower and what sort of foes they may face on the journey. She'd also like to learn more about this 'dark-winged woman'.
Relisha ignores the uncovered dragon hoard as well as any 'trophies' acquired from the dead beastie. Her attention is drawn to Ahreni's wounds and she doesn't engage in anything else until said wounds are healed.

The flashing image in her mind of Ahreni being savaged by the evil creature is quickly replicated in the real world and the tiefling feels her chest tighten. Knowing that keeping the woman standing is paramount to their success, she grasps the sunburst-surrounded figure dangling from her neck and calls forth energy to fill the area.

" I will come." Kitsai says, turning from Ahreni to Relisha. He winces in pain as he twists, pointing to his left side. "Do you have any more of your healing magics left before we depart by chance? If not, it's just a scratch and I'll be fine." The tiefling examines Kit and furrows her brow. "Hmmm..." she ponders. She gives a brief supplicatory prayer to her goddess and presses her hands on the man's shoulder.
~~~~~ Relisha utterly fails to conceal the grin that results from Ameiko's praise and her face turns the color of a ripe tomato. "I will endeavor to not let you down, my empress," she says, her eyes seeking out the woman's before looking back at the ground. ~~~~~ Pulling ropes that she brought from the caravan, Relisha gives a nod at Kit before beginning the tedious process of knotting them. Once that's done, she gets assistance in securing one end before dropping the other over the edge and watches as it settles down on the ledge below. "It would be helpful if you would remain flying near us as we descend," she suggests to the monk before taking a deep breath and levering herself over the edge to descend into the crevasse.
Relisha agrees with a short nod. "With the Empress' leave, of course we'll help them. It's the only right thing to do," she says. "We should set out tomorrow morning."
Relisha rubs some of the icy crust off her eyebrows and adjusts her fur-lined hood. "They're not going to like either the news or us for delivering it, but we should inform the village that their shaman has been betraying them," she says with a sigh.
The paladin sends another wave of healing energy out to fortify her companions while her summoned katana makes its last attacks on the shaman before vanishing.

Seeing the others in distress from whatever evil force the shaman has unleashed, Relisha sets about setting it right - starting with Sylyn.
Meanwhile, her summoned katana joins Kit in his assault on the flying figure.

"Find him, Ahreni," Relisha says with a groan as the force of all the negative energy hits her hard. She grasps at her holy symbol in an attempt to counter some of the harm.

Relisha takes a firmer grip on her katana and with a prayer and hand gesture, summons another blade formed of divine energy.

Relisha pales at the mention of 'thousands of bity spiders', but doesn't say anything. She does, however, reach out with her healing abilities to link up with her companions.
While unable to pinpoint the reason exactly, Tunuak's actions raise the tiefling's suspicions and she focuses some of her newfound ability to read auras on the man.
Relisha draws her blade and strikes her shield with it a few times. "I stand in guardianship over the rightful empress of Minkai," she declares. "We will commit to assisting you in defeating this white terror that plagues you, but if you attempt to bring harm to us or our charge, you will face the wrath of Sarenrae's chosen" Her swords bursts into flames. "And you will fall."
Once she's checked over everyone's wounds and applied more healing as needed, Relisha gives Ahreni and the others a hand in moving the supplies to the wagons. She then does what she can in the way of last rites to hopefully put the unsettled souls to rest. It looks like this will be an appropriate place to rest after all.
Shifting her weapon to her shield hand, the tiefling reaches down to touch Sylyn's still smoldering form.

With a resolute prayer to her patron, Relisha summons a spectral version of her katana near the witchfire.

The paladin draws her blade and it bursts into flames. She then advances on the one that struck at Sylyn, striking with the ancient weapon.

Relisha bites her lip as she considers the options. "I would prefer the safer, but longer route," she says after a moment. "As much as my empress wants adventure, I would much prefer to keep her as safe as possible.
Relisha's hearing hasn't been affected by her near-death experience, it seems, and she pushes back from Ameiko with red-faced glance at Sylyn. "W-we should get moving," she says.
"Gomen-ne, my empress," Relisha replies, closing her eyes and losing herself in the woman's arms. "I will endeavor to remain among the living." She seems to be content to remain wrapped in Ameiko's arms until the woman releases her.
When the tiefling regains consciousness, she groans. It's not from the pain - she's accustomed to pain, but rather the thought of the dressing down that she's going to receive from Ahreni. Her counter-argument that anyone else taking that blow would be killed outright with her unable to bring them back comes to mind, but she's not sure if that will carry weight. Better armor. More protective magic. That's what she needs. She's a healer and the health and lives of others are in her hands, but the calling of her goddess tells her that she's no longer meant to be a shrinking violet hiding behind them.

The tiefling draws Suishen and advances to strike the giant with the ancient blade as it bursts into flames. She speaks a quick prayer to her goddess and some of her wounds close.

Once at Ameiko’s wagon, she leans in for one last quick kiss. ”Good night, Relisha. Let’s do this again another night, when we’re not so busy. Next time, I don’t want to be rushed.” She brushes the tiefling’s face before heading inside. A giggle escapes the blushing paladin and a silly grin is evident on her face all the way back to her tent where her holy book is pushed aside in favor of doodling bits of poetry on scraps of parchment. ~~~~~~ "I go where my empress goes," Relisha declares, either ignoring or not quite getting Sylyn's sarcasm.
The tiefling looks up at Ameiko through her lashes and a sheepish grin slowly appears on her face. "So it would be okay if I ...?" she says before slowly leaning in and claiming the woman's lips again. 'Oh, gods! It's even better.' She pulls away and giggles. "You ... uh ... should probably ... um ... Kitasai will worry." Leaning in one last time for another quick follow-up peck, she stays close and looks her love in the eyes. "You are so beautiful," she says softly. Reluctantly she stands and offers the woman her hand. "Would ... uh ... would it be okay if ...? Could I walk you to your wagon?"
A soft squeak is Relisha's only response and it's quickly muted by soft lips on hers. She's manufactured so many scenarios in her head about kissing Ameiko; Different places, different moments. But never in her wildest imaginings does the woman kiss her. She stiffens. Never having actually kissed anyone before, she's unsure what to do. But the sensation of warm, soft, moist lips on her own slowly settles in and her body responds even without her directing it. Oh, yes, it responds. Someone, somewhere, moans. She turns her head slightly and presses back. 'Gods! Why don't people just do this. All. Day. Long. Her hand moves up and cups Ameiko's cheek and she waits for time to stop. It should stop. It has to stop. This has to be the climax of her existence and it would be incredibly disappointing if time was rude enough to continue on past this one moment. Someone is still moaning. Time, however, does continue on regardless of her desires. The lips leave hers and they're touched by cold air. Her eyes blink open. She doesn't remember closing them. The cold never bothered her before, but the missed warmth on her lips is wrenching. It then finally sinks in what just happened. Her hand slaps over her mouth in embarrassment. "I'm so sorry," she says. "I shouldn't have just ... I should have asked ..." Her eyes drop down to the rough blanket. "I'm sorry."
"I ... I'm glad you liked it," Relisha replies as her blush deepens. Unsure as to where to look and what to do with her hands, her eyes move down and she picks at a loose thread at the end of her sleeve. To her dismay, the seam rapidly begins to come apart. She frantically shoves the thread back and tries to conceal her mistake. "I've been reading some poetry in that style, but I'm not sure if I got the beats correct and my calligraphy is atrocious." Finally looking back up, she meets her companion's eyes. 'She's actually here. She's looking at me and I don't know what to say.' "It would be my pleasure to write more poems for you, My ... um ... Ameiko," she says. Unbidden, a laugh of joy bubbles out of her when she calls her love by her name. "I ... uh ... there's something that ..." Any further statement is interrupted by a fist banging on the wagon and loud words. With a start, the tiefling jumps to her feet and her hand is reaching for Suishen before she recognizes the monk's voice. "Um, yes, he's right ... Ameiko. You should be well rested for the journey."
The tiefling nods wordlessly and steps aside to let the woman in. She quickly glances around the small space to make sure there's nothing utterly embarrassing out in the open. There's a heavy blanket on the floor with her copy of The Birth of Light and Truth open to a passage she was studying. In the center of the comfy space is a small brazier with glowing embers. She quickly adds a couple of lumps of coal to it. Moving her backpack off it, she sets a small stool in the middle of the space before stepping back awkwardly. "I'm ... I'm glad you like them, My Empress," she says, looking down with a flush on her face. Her eyes look back up, though. She notes the tiny flakes of snow that have caught in Ameiko's eyelashes. She really does look like an empress. The fey empress of a kingdom of ice and snow. So beautiful.
Having never really been bothered by the cold, Relisha only makes a token effort to collect gear for herself for the expected environment. She does, however, spend a inordinate amount of time searching - and finally finding - a pair of very cozy, fur-lined gloves and boots. She arranges some custom stitching on the edges of each that match the patterns engraved in the hilt of Suishen, assuming them to be the Amatatsu family emblems. The evening before they leave, Ameiko finds a small bundle in her wagon containing the gloves, boots, and a small book. The book contains illustrated tales of adventure. And a note. 'I hope that some day I'll be able to tell you tales of my heroic exploits. When I have some to tell. Until then, I hope you enjoy these stories.' Below the note is a haiku in clumsy kanji characters. Longing for your gaze
Relisha's eyes widen at Kitasai's statement. While true, it feels like an accusation and she's not sure how to handle it. Her first response is to deny it, but realizing that she hasn't been as subtle about her feelings as she thought she was, she sighs. "Yes, very much so," she says, looking down at her feet. "However, I have little faith that those feelings would ever be returned. Even so ..." She looks up at him with a new hope. "I would like to ..." she begins, but hesitates. "Is there something that Ameiko really likes? A treat? Pastry? Wine? Candy? Something that she wouldn't normally buy for herself, but really enjoys?"
Ahreni's gaze is clear and forceful. "I will never speak of it again if you wish Relisha, but promise me you will remember." Relisha gives a small nod. "Thank you for speaking to me as an equal. I will consider your words." She looks away again and then across the campfire to where Ameiko and Kitasai are still chatting together. "Is there really ...? do you think there is any chance that ...?" She takes a few slow breaths. "Is it an impossible dream, Ahreni?"

Retraining should cost her 350gp which I'll deduct from whatever her share turns out to be. I'm hoping that since Suishen is intelligent that it can count as a teacher. :)
Unaware that her love life is being debated and discussed, Relisha moves over to sit next to Ahreni. Ahreni: "We must discuss something," she says, continuing to watch the others as she speaks. "I understand that you are much older than the rest of us and see us ... differently. However, you are not my mother. You are also not my master, spouse, or lover. I expect you to treat me with respect. If you have criticisms of my behavior then please deliver them respectfully."
She turns to look at the elf. "By the blood I've spilled and the pain I've endured, I believe I have earned my place in this group. And I believe that I have earned the respect that should follow. To be treated as a child is demeaning and I've endured enough of that to last me a lifetime." She looks away again. "I am an imperfect vessel for the Dawnflower's divine gifts and I make no claims otherwise. But I will deliver them as best as I understand them."
A very-unpaladin-like giggle slips from Relisha's lips and her hands fly to cover her mouth in embarrassment. She bows again to Ameiko. "Anything for you, My L... Empress. My life is yours," she stutters out before moving away from the center of the group.
The tiefling's face turns bright red when Flori calls her out specifically. Looking around, she sees everyone's eyes on her and initially considers running a viable option. She steadies herself, though, and takes a step forward towards the woman she idolizes. Drawing the blade from her belt and resting it on the palms of her hands, she kneels in front of Ameiko. "We recovered Suishen - the ancestral blade of the Amatatsu family," she says bowing her head. "It is my honor and privilege to return it to you, My Empress."
"Relisha." he calls out to her softly, placing a hand on her shoulder to stop her. Once she turns around he places his calloused and rough hand flat against her upper chest over her heart and says with a small smile "Believe in yourself and follow your heart." The girl starts and stiffens when Kitasai first touches her, but then softens at his words. "I'm trying," she says with a soft smile.
The tiefling glares back just a fiercely, but after a moment, nods her head. "I will see to my injuries, but we will discuss this once we're free of this place." She pulls out her wand and tends to her own wounds. Wound Tracking/Status:

Relisha summons magical light to illuminate the dim prison cell. "My name is Relisha Tamm," she says, continuing to hold up her holy symbol so it's visible. "My friends and I have journeyed here to retrieve you." She lets the symbol drop back down on her chest, but not before scanning his aura for any hint of evil. If she finds nothing amiss, she moves forward to examine his injuries.
"I am a healer," Relisha says, shaking her head as if to clear it. Whether she's responding to the others or attempting to convince herself is unclear. She leans against a nearby wall. "And I will follow Sarenrae's will in how I do that." She lifts the sunburst that hangs around her neck and gives a quick prayer to the Dawnflower. A pulse of healing energy spreads out from her to the others. The effect, however, seems lessened.
She approaches Sylyn and applies a more direct approach.
The tiefling nods when this seems to have a more beneficial effect. Seemingly satisfied, she ignores the blood matting the hair on one side of her head and doesn't seem to notice that her normal looking eye is now a blue pupil swimming in a smear of crimson. With her ears ringing from the blow, Relisha's links to the others drop. Invoking her connection to her goddess, she restores just a little of her own health before swinging at one of the two oni in front of her.
