As Reigan's less than magical methods fail to turn up anything, he looks to his arcane and divine compatriots. "If there is something here, it might be up to you lot." he says as his paranormal investigations seems to be lacking a certain panache if he is so easily foiled.

Reigan listens to the girl's words and tries to figure out what she could have seen from the description.

As he ponders, he moves around the store, looking for a sign of the esoteric tome that might have caused this murder.

Reigan pulls out his wand of Cure Light Wounds and says the special word, hoping to activate it.

As he tries, the wand merely spits out a cloud of grey smoke and he purses his lips. "Uhh... This might not be a great plan." he says, unsure of what to do, though he stays back.

I can literally do 0 damage. :( But, that's no different than normal! ;-D

Sorry for the 72 hour disappearance.

Reigan sees the coalescing blood that coagulates into a giant golem and he slowly sighs. "I can do next to nothing to this thing..." he mutters as he looks through his quiver, though he knows that he doesn't have a blunt, silver bolt.

Focused Shot and Studied Combat is precision damage, so no-go. Add in the DR and it seems like I have no chance to even do a single point of damage with my crossbow.

Seeing no other option, Reigan calls forth the spirits of the area and they coalesce around him, forming a thick protective shell around the man.

Reigan leans in as Cherry does what he does best. With a few deft words, he hopes that Jeremiah can handle the business. "Get me a guy who can lead me to Barvasi or some sort or tracking spell locked on him. He owes me something and it's time to collect." Reigan says with a smile and wink as the ruckus happens.

Reigan waves off the group, except Terry. "Guys... No offense, but you aren't exactly the type to work this angle. Find the dwarf some ale and let me and Cherry get this done." he says as he extends a hand and coughs, taking 20 gold pieces from each person.

As Reigan and Cherry make their way through Bridgefront, Reigan nods to the nearby shack. "Remember coming here when we had like twelve gold to our name? Those were some good times..." Reigan reminisces as he pushes open the door and the pair sees the old woman knitting in the corner.

She looks at Reigan and sighs before snapping her fingers. A set of floorboards magically begins to shake and turn into stairs leading below the building as smoke and sounds of enjoyment and loss echo up from below.

The lights are dim and the room is filled with smoke as the familiar sights of gambling, drinks and beautiful women are taken in by Reigan and Terry.

Reigan moves up to one of the tables and pulls out the gold collected from the others, in addition to some of his own and sets down 150 GP onto the table. "Hey, Jeremiah. Long time, no see." he says with a huge grin. The dealer behind the table rolls his eyes. "Figure you'd have died in a gutter by now, Reigan. Boss won't be happy you are here."

"Eh, well, I just need a favor and I'm willing to pay. It's on the up and up, see. I got Cherry with me and he never tried to swindle you lot, so you should know it's for real." he says with a nudge to the taller man next to him. "Work the room, Terry!" he whispers to Terry.

Coughing, Reigan gets his cards and looks at them briefly before talking some more. "Need to find a guy. No name. Just need one of the shiver dealers to offer up some information on a guy."

Reigan slides his cards back to the dealer and utters the word. "Fold." As the cards slide back, they push the stack of gold back to the dealer and the man flips the cards over, looking at them and finding a winning hand.

"I'll see what I can do." the man says. "Send em to my usual place. You know where I like to haunt." Reigan adds with a smile as he stands up and takes his leave, grabbing a flagon of wine off a passing waitress's tray and heading up the stairs to the street.

Reigan is about to move in to speak with the guards, hoping to draw their attention to something a bit more bright and shiny, but Terry stops him. "Eh, I guess. Still wonder what we left behind. Ten gold on these fellows pocketing anything valuable before we return..." he says dourly.

"Either way, let's pay a visit that Barvasi fellow and see if he will be forthcoming with his belongings." Reigan adds as he pulls down the hook-nosed mask and leaves the greenish Snuggie on. "It's very comfortable. Don't judge me." he adds.

"It's true that we left the second floor unexplored to a certain degree, but I doubt that those last two or three rooms contain the answer. Could we be that unlucky?" Reigan asks, thinking that they have the worst luck. "Yeah, we should probably check it out." he adds as an afterthought.

"Thank you, Madam." he says with a bow before heading back to the House on Hook Street.

"Yes. I may be able to ask the spirits or sends out my tendrils into the loclas to find Caligaro, but that might take several days." Reigan advises as he hopes to find Caligaro before the town is sent into mental fugues.

Reigan works his detective 'magic' and actually makes a decent amount of change before heading back to meet with the group at the inn. "Word on the street is that we should check with Madam Carrington about the key. Some of the spirits seem to think favorably of her."

Reigan will make an appointment to meet with Madam Carrington about the key.

Reigan enjoys his newfound wealth, keeping most of it, but investing in a few adamantine durable bolts after the scrape with the statue. "Cant be too careful." he says to the fletcher as the man puts the finishing touches on the projectiles, fletching them with spotted roc feathers.

As the group stays in town, Reigan keeps his ear to the ground, so to speak. I do run a mildly successful detective agency, after all. he thinks as the rumors pour in.

At the inn, he announces that he is offering his services to contact those that have been lost to the Nightmare Plague. "Please come put your loved ones to rest! I shall contact them for you and ease both of your sufferings!" he advertises. "All for a nominal fee, of course."

Going to try to earn money/gather information on the rumors by utilizing my Gather Information checks and Spiritual abilities. Up to GM on how to proceed with that!

Taking the money, Reigan puts the pouch in his new robe. "Let's head to the inn and rest. Perhaps the spirits will guide us towards our future if we calm our minds and satisfy our bellies. We have plenty of coin and the Ticklefish has plenty of beer!" he says jovially to the group as he makes for his favorite watering hole.

Reigan pulls out his own wand, allowing anyone who needs it to be healed.

After everyone is healed, he recommends a course of action. "It seems that we are all quite roughed up and low on our abilities. We should report into the Magistrate and then find a place to hunker down for the night."

Reigan leaps out of the way as a hoof clips his leg, slamming down on his foot. "Gah!" he yells as he limps away, studying the movements of the Mog-Lothar.

Grinner's blast of healing gets the detective nearly up to full as the man retreats into the filling hallway and blesses himself with the power of the spirits.

"We should flee! I can do nothing to fight a statue!" he yells, hoping that the group understands.

Reigan approaches as he finishes pulling out the darts, sliding the long-nosed mask up to reveal his face. "Give me that." he says as he takes the key from Myra's hands.

"Now, now. Calm down Cherry." he says as he smiles evilly at the surrendering group. "Who says that this cannot be resolved amicably?" he asks as he moves behind the woman.

Bluff to Move Inconspicuously into a Better Position and Draw Out Her Attention to the Rest to Also Give Her Information: 1d20 + 14 + 1d6 ⇒ (11) + 14 + (5) = 30

"Yes, perhaps we can come to an agreement. Tell the Dwarf and the man with the dreadlocks all your secrets." he says, knowing the valuable nature of information.

GM:
If possible, Reigan would like to Coup de Grace her if possible. Not immediately, but after she talks a bit more and forgets about his presence behind her. I'm thinking a bolt to the back of the head.

Reigan overcomes the oppressive spell from the enemies as he dodges most of the darts, but a few slam into his shoulder, causing him to groan. "Gah! Why me!" he yells.

He pulls out the crossbow hidden in the folds of his robe and takes aim at one of the men in the crowd, firing off his crossbow at the man, hoping to kill him in one strike. "Suck down some cold iron, bastard!"

Seeing that nothing appears to be happening other than a shifting painting, Reigan tosses the broken harp over his shoulder, letting the instrument shatter into the wall.

"Well, that instrument is busted. Could barely even play Chopsticks on the thing." says the detective as he picks up the half-sized dwarf and sets him down in front of the next door. "Oi. Perhaps less ale and potato fritters at the tavern." Reigan quips as he fakes straining his back.

Seeing that Grimnir will open the door, Reigan pulls the long-nosed mask back down over his face and readies his crossbow. "Wish me luck, old man." he says as he fist bumps the scowling man in the painting.

Fro behind the singed, long-nosed mask, Reigan listens to the lilting, out-of-tune harp. "Sounds like what my mammy used to sing when I was young..." he says wistfully, slightly muffled by the mask.

Interested in seeing is he can play the harp after hearing the music, Reigan picks up the lap harp and begins to pluck the strings, seeing if they produce as beautiful of sounds as those echoing through his mind.

Reigan gathers up the bolt from the man's knee and reloads it into the crossbow. "Really? No one is going to comment on that winner of a joke?" he asks, clearly trying to draw a reaction from the group who seems to not notice their own teammates.

"I say that we should turn it into the authorities, but I could not care less as to its fate. Destroy it if you wish, Gerard." Reigan says as he takes one of the unmelted masks and pulls it over his face. The herbs and spices filling the drooping nose of the mask smells quite pleasant to Reigan as he adopts the cultists' garb in its entirety.

"Let's keep moving." remarks the detective as he points the dwarf in the direction of the next door. "Do your thing, half-pint."

"I see that you lot are back to normal." he says, unperturbed. "Should we see what is down that hole first or look through this doorway?" he asks as he moves to the hole and looks down.
