I'm trying to figure out how to set up a communication method by using Mirror Sight (actually a magical mirror that can cast it on command).
The spell is basically scrying that works on the same plane through manufactured mirrors only, and (visual only) information can go both ways. Like a Skype video call without sound.
Is there a spell that could be used to cause fancy magical writing to appear mid-air? Would prestidigitation do the trick? Maybe research a new (low level) spell?
This might seem overly complicated, but there's no access to Sending yet, nor do I think anyone in the party will get the spell, so this method must do for the time being.
It also has a fun element of "mirror mirror on the wall".
Just bring some paper and charcoal or Ink and a quill and write messages backwards.
I would let prestidigitation make small notes. If your GM is iffy on that I would make a Silent Image of a piece of paper with the appropriate message on it.
Other than that I don't know any spells that just write stuff for you off the top of my head though. :(
