Favored Class: Oracle +2 Skills
Low-Light Vision: Raziya can see twice as far as humans in conditions of dim light. Dual Minded: The mixed ancestry of some half-elves makes them resistant to mental attacks. Raziya gains a +2 bonus on all Will saving throws. Elf Blood: Raziya counts as both an elf and a human for any effect related to race. Thinblood Resistance: Raziya is accustomed to torture at the hands of her cruel forebears and gains a +2 racial bonus on Fortitude saves against poison and disease, including magical diseases. She also gains the poison use ability and never risks poisoning herself when applying poison to a weapon. Wary: Many half-elves have spent their long lives moving from place to place, often driven out by the hostility of others. Such experiences have made Raziya wary of others’ motivations. She gains a +1 racial bonus on Sense Motive and Bluff checks. Fey Thoughts: Raziya sees the world more like a native of the First World. Bluff and Perception are always class skills for her. Class Skills: As a spirit guide, Raziya gains all Knowledge skills as class skills. Curse (Lich): Every living spellcaster hides a secret in their flesh — a unique, personalized set of conditions that, when all are fulfilled in the correct order, can trigger the transformation into a lich. Normally, one must expend years and tens of thousands of gold pieces to research this deeply personalized method of attaining immortality. Yet, in a rare few cases, chance and ill fortune can conspire against an unsuspecting spellcaster. Raziya has unknowingly fulfilled most (but not all) of the ritualistic components to achieve lichdom. She has yet to turn into an undead creature, but she is close. She takes damage from positive energy and heals from negative energy as if she were undead. Voice of the Grave*: Raziya can speak with dead, as per the spell, for a number of rounds per day equal to her oracle level (2). These rounds do not need to be consecutive. Spells::
Orisons:
Create Water Detect Magic Enhanced Diplomacy Light Mending Level 1: 5/day
Feats::
Spell Focus (conjuration): Raziya has focused her studies on the school of conjuration. She adds +1 to the DC of these spells. Traits::
Thrune Informant: The Thrice-Damned House of Thrune rules Cheliax with autocratic power, and its representatives can be found throughout the empire, drawn from all walks of life. Most of these agents do not work directly as government employees, but they still serve House Thrune in whatever ways they can. Raziya is a true patriot of Cheliax, and has long worked for House Thrune as a paid informant. She reports what she sees to the authorities, and occasionally carries out specific tasks suited to her skill set and abilities when asked. People like her help prevent potential traitors and other “undesirables” from undermining Thrune’s authority and keep Chelish society running smoothly. Raziya hopes that with continued faithful service, she will eventually be rewarded with greater authority and autonomy as a sworn agent of House Thrune. She gains a +1 trait bonus on Diplomacy checks to gather information, Disguise checks, and Knowledge (local) checks, and Disguise is a class skill for her.
Omen: Raziya exudes an ominous presence. She gains a +1 trait bonus on Intimidate checks, and Intimidate is always a class skill for her. Once per day, she may attempt to demoralize an opponent as a swift action. Equipment::
Masterwork Light Crossbow (10 bolts), Scale Mail, Buckler, Light Mace, Oracle's Kit. 10pp Background:
Bullet Point Questions:
1. What is your character's connection to Longacre? Why is she here? Raziya's aunt, 'Eyeblighted' Constanzia, was a sergeant in the Imperial Army, but eventually retired to Longacre. Her pension doesn't leave her a lot of wiggle room to hire sighted help, so she was thrilled that her niece was moving to town to help her. Raziya's new handler, Cimri Staelish, was glad her new agent came with a ready-made cover story. 2. Who is one NPC your character thinks of as a friend or ally? (Can be made up and not from AP or official source material.)
Despite using her as cover, Raziya does have a very real fondness for her aunt, and does plan to restore her vision when it's practical for her. 3. What is one goal for your PC other than the one provided in your campaign trait? Raziya wants a governorship, whether as a gift for the duration of her life, or as part of the creation of a noble family. 4. If your character is anything other than a human Chelaxian, explain how she fits in to Longacre. Raziya doesn't emphasize her elven blood, wearing her hair long to cover her ears, and being vague or outright deceptive about that side of her family when asked. Her accent is precisely Imperial Chelish, even more so than her aunt who has lived in Longacre far longer, despite the fact that Raziya grew up in Khari and lived there until ~six months ago. Aside from that, her effervescent charm disarms those that might not recognize that she is every bit the Chelaxian they are. Quick Personality Blurb:
Despite the dark powers she habitually dabbles in, Raziya is an almost bubbly presence, cheerful and warm until it's time to stick the knife in. She's a little lazy, highly valuing using servants and other methods to accomplish her goals at arm's length rather than getting up close and personal herself. Even in her work as a spy and informant, she's far more likely to pass along rumors and innuendo than to break into a building herself. And if she finds that a source of information can't be persuaded to help her? Well, the dead often have loose tongues... Possible Hooks to other players:
She's also a lay member of the church of Urgathoa and could have ties that way, but other people who have been in Longacre for a while would likely know her from her very public persona, rather than her powers and cruelty. |
