Merits & Flaws:
Calm Heart (2 pt. Merit): You are naturally calm and well-composed, and do not easily fly off the handle (a -2 difficulty to all Frenzy rolls, no matter how the incident is provoked).
Description: Randolph is an early-middle-aged black man with slightly receding hair and a marginally chubby physique (though being undead has had something of a slimming effect, due to the atrophy of organs). He is thick-set and friendly-looking, and usually dresses well in work suits and ties.
Age: 34
Apparent Age: 31
Hair: Black
Eyes: Brown
Background: Randolph was born to a struggling lower-middle class African-American Chicago family and grew up in the '60s in rough neighborhoods. Unlike many of his peers, he had a bright mind and was an apt student, and he avoided entanglements with crime and gang warfare.
In the late '70s and early '80s, Randolph struggled through school, but his family moved several times as his father was able to steadily improve their income. Aided by a scholarship, Randolph was able to attend Brown University and study law. He returned home to work as a public defender, specializing in cases affecting the African-American community.
In '89 Randolph was picked by the Tremere for induction on the basis of his skills as a lawyer and the clan's hope that he could be a useful asset in dealing with financial and various semi-legal operations. Though the transition was difficult, Randolph had no tight personal connections - no wife or children left behind - so he was, slowly, able to adjust to his new circumstances.
Due to his race, Randolph often faces subtle prejudices from other Kindred who were Embraced with cultural biases against people of color. Despite this he is very calm and self-assured and makes sure to dress well and present himself in a clear, educated fashion.
Because he can no longer serve as a lawyer (he can't attend daytime functions necessary for licensing and he lacks the powers and influence to get around those hurdles), he now owns a small bail bond front downtown.
Randolph is a low-ranking apprentice in the Tremere structure. He has been Acknowledged by Prince Lodin and is seen as a childe of the Camarilla.
