Hmm.. I don't like foreboding...

"Heh, I like the way you think.." he says to Boxer with a grin, then turns to the townhouse "..but I don't like feeling this place gives me."

He looks to the rest of the group "Are we ready to continue?"

I apologize if I'm the one holding things up

Insight 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Perception 1d20 ⇒ 2

Raivek huffs off and storms out the shop, investigating the bridge, and the areas around each end of it.

Intimidate 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16

So, does that mean I'm bullying the guard or something?

I'm okay with that as well

Holy crap! Straight 6's! It's a shame I missed.. he still takes half damage though. Also, the even/odd attack roll thing for the sorcerer, does that apply to the actual die roll, or the total roll?

Edit: Oh wait.. I rolled a 1. Is that a critical miss or something in 4e?

Sorry, didn't realize it was my turn.

Move to H8, Dazzling Ray vs Will 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
6d6 + 7 ⇒ (6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6) + 7 = 43 Radiant Damage, half if I miss.

If the attack roll is even, I get +1 AC and the Haunt takes -3 on attack rolls against me (save ends the penalty).

Acid Orb vs Reflex
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
1d10 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Hmm. Don't know why, but that didn't show up in my RSS reader till today. And I was curious about what happened to this game. =)

I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be gone from July 9th through the 16th, due to an out of state family reunion. During that time, if anyone wants to NPC me, I'd appreciate it.

Stormwalk, shift to E8. 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9 vs Fortitude. 1d8 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 thunder damage. Damn, this dice feature hates me.

DM:

So sorry! I got really busy all of a sudden, and had to work, and my RSS Reader stopped working. I'm posting my action after this =)

DM:

We're on a tower, correct? How high up are we? If someone were to say, fall off the ledge, what would that do?

DM:

On the map, I'm supposed to be in G8

Spoiler:

Random Energy is Fire. I gain Resist Fire 5, and I can ignore up to 5 resist.
Since my attack roll was even, I gain +1 AC for the turn.

Spoiler:

I've yet to determine my random energy for today. 1d10 ⇒ 3
And I'll move to G8 and throw another Acid Orb (Ref) 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12; Damage 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16

Raivek moves next to Gabrielle and asks, "Need some help?" as he forms another ball of acid and throws it at the Haunt.

Just for clarification, what's the "D" in the map? I apologize if this has already been answered.

Oh, okay. I assume we see the Haunt?

Seeing the mist sends chills down Raiveks spine. He seeks the source of the disruption, moving to F12, and furiously hurls a ball of acid at the Haunt.

Acid orb vs Reflex 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7; Damage 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

Is there any way I can get within line-of-sight of the Mourning Haunt with one move action? I'm not sure how stairs impact movement in 4e. =/

Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Raivek tries to keep his composure as much as possible. Despite his sorrow, and the held back tears, these events serve to inspire, and anger him. He listens to the entire speech, and waits for the end of the ceremony. "Someday brothers, you will have your rest. I'll discover the truth, and make the person responsible pay." he whispers under his breath, making the same oath he always has at each of these events.

Spoiler:

As someone who no only lost his entire family, and all his friends, but his home and country as well, Raivek sees the memorial as a good way to pay respects to those he has lost. He holds a grudge against everyone that isn't also from Cyre, but the memorial is one time he's willing to put his ego aside for just a moment. He's come to this city in hopes of finding new clues about the destruction of his home. Anything that may lead him to the truth.

Good, except for one thing. You don't really need a hand crossbow, Acid Orb is a basic attack and would do more damage/be more likely to hit anyway. Still, as someone who played a chaos sorcerer before, I wish you luck, because if it goes your way you'll be bloodying half the battlefield in a single action.

Oh, okay. I'm coming from playing mostly 3.5, so that's a little odd to me. So, I won't need it, even as backup? I'll mark it off. And I'm not sure I know what I'm doing when it comes to playing this character, mechanically anyway lol.

I pretty much finished my character. I need to fill in the details of his spells, but that's all i think. Wanna look it over? See if i did anything wrong?

Memorial, that's right. My fault. As my character is from Cyre, he'd have a VERY good reason for being there. He'll be there in remembrance of his family and friends. He's going to be the vengeful type, holding a grudge against mostly everyone, but he's not going to be an outright activist or anything.

Hey Rev =)
It's been a while since that swarm devoured him lol. I'm hoping that doesn't happen this time =)

I've blanked out an old deceased character, and I've chosen to be a human chaos sorcerer. I'll be filling in the blanks for a while.

If Lafiel would be so kind as to let me pass, I'll move to P13

Normally, I wouldn't let things wait so much for 1 player, but Jason's new to 4E, and I want a confirmation that Raivek plans to move from O13 to P13, drawing opportunity attacks from both swarms. Raivek, please answer ASAP.

Also, in the future, when asking a question about things like moving through a space, it will delay things less if you post contingencies for what you'll do depending on the answer, thanks.
And finally, yes, everyone reset to 1 action point after the rest the night before.

Yes, i know i'll draw OA.

If Lafiel would be so kind as to let me pass, I'll move to P13
Dire Wolverine Strike: (s1)13 vs AC, 6 damage; (s2)13 vs AC, 7damage

Raivek hurries to position himself between the swarms and slashes about in a wild fury. S1 target of hunters quarry (minor), move to P13, exploit (standard)

Did we regain our Action Point back from resting? If so, I'll use an action point:
Twin Strike: (s1)19 vs AC, 4 damage; (s2)19 vs AC, 9 damage
These should be 22 and 22 for the attack rolls, due to Action Surge feat
Hunters Quarry damage: 5

Unrelenting in his fury, he slashes to his left, thrusts to the right, trying to do as much damage to the swarm as possible.

Am i allowed to move through an ally's space? I'd like to move to P13, if possible, before using any of my other actions.

"Heh, this'll be fun.." Raivek grins as he moves closer to the swarm. move to n14 if possible

"Here we go.." Raivek says with a grin on his face and weapons at the ready. I'll be at d16

"I agree.. And how's about I just take last watch, like last time. Even better, how's about I just say I'll take last watch whenever we have to make camp?"

"Yeah, let's go. Nothing more to see here. Where's the trail lead us to next Rin?"

"Hmm, well, you can't blame the monkeys for how they were made. I'd rather find who's behind this and potentially stop this ridiculousness at its source."

My fault, I read it wrong. I thought it said that the ape-men were the corpses that were slaughtered and burned. I guess just disregard my post, i deleted it. :(

"Good idea, better safe then sorry. I dare one of those monkeys to test my blades.. it won't know what's coming"

He calls them monkeys as a kind of insult, fyi.

"One apeman did all that damage?" Rin asks wonderingly.

"Are you so sure it was just the monkey?" Raivek asks Rin.

Drivish Ammasin wrote:
Drivish pulls the massive halberd from its harness. "I agree that we should investigate. I expect that nobody stuck around, but everybody be careful."

Raivek nods, agreeing with Drivish and draws his weapons, looking for any clues as to what transpired.

Perception (1d20+7=15)

Raivek takes the bottle from Quadim-sul, "Here's to you," looking at the group and taking a swig from the bottle before passing it around.

"Eh, I won't be needing anything, don't want to slow the group down and all.." Raivek says to himself mostly.

"Wake me whenever.." Raivek says as he yawns. "I'll take last watch."

"Hpfh," Raivek chuckles slightly. "And on!" Raivek motions for Rin to lead the way with a smirk on his face.

"Heh, you go ahead and tackle away. Meanwhile I'll be running it through it's bloody gullet and we can all collect our riches afterward." Raivek pats Rin on the back. "I'll trust you with the magics and whatnot. Barshevy, you seem to be an excellent healer. Lafiel, I think we can help each other out next time we run into something that wants us dead. Quadim and Drag.. Driv.. You.. there.. with the face.. Drivish, right. Quadim and Drivish, you can do.. whatever it is you do. Oh right, did I mention i was good with a bow too?" Raivek chuckles. "I don't know how long this trail that Rin seems to be on will last, I say we find out where it leads now before much more damage is done. For all we know there might be another attack like that soon. I'd like to prevent that if at all possible." Raivek, done with his speech, looks to the group.

"I wouldn't waste my time worrying about an informant, especially with the kind of magic that someone or something is playing with. I'd just as soon assume that whoever or whatever is powerful and crazy enough to wield it, probably wouldn't have much of a hard time finding out information with that same magic. I say we find out who or what we're dealing with, and cut his tongue out so he can't harass these folk anymore."

"Good plan, I'm with ya." Raivek draws his weapons at the ready and follows beside Quadim.

"Hmm, sounds serious. So, my question is, who'd be dumb enough to play around with that kind of magic then? When I find out who's behind this, you bet your arse I'm gonna cut them. I'm gonna cut them deep..." Raivek mumbles the last bit, and trails off with "..stupid monkey."

History (1d20=10)

Sorry, I don't know much either.

"You're a very generous, and wonderful man indeed." He bows to Tarnstone. "We should get to it then, eh?" Looking to Rin. He pulls Lafiel closer to him with one arm, still talking to Rin, "We should stick together if we're going to minimize our losses, I'd say." Raivek flashes Lafiel a smile.

Raivek nudges Lafiel with his elbow, "Not a smart one is he?" Looking at Tarnstone, "How's about treating my friend here with a bit more respect, or in the next 10 seconds, you can deal with your monkey problem yourself. I'm sure the Duke and Duchess will be pleased to know that you, not only denied reasonable payment, but you threatened to imprison their very saviours." He pauses for a second, "Assuming you're so bold to take on the threat alone. And live.." Raivek takes satisfaction in potentially angering the dwarf further. "So, what will it be? May we be properly compensated, as my friend here so kindly, and desperately asks? We're the ones risking our lives here, you know. And for a threat that we don't even really know much of anything about." Saying matter-of-factly.

"Heh, I could have taken him if I really wanted to. I just wanted to distract him so you guys could take care of him.. I didn't want to take all the glory for myself." Raivek laughs. "In any case, I'm going along with you guys. I'll show you what I can really do." He says confidently with his arms crossed.

Qadim-sul wrote:

"The Duke's family is still asleep, including Captain Ryo. Everyone else seems unaffected now," Qadim-sul summarizes for the group. "The sergeant here wants us to look into this, and also find out the story behind the King of the Apes out there. Oh, and keep it hushed, while we're at it."

"So are you in?" The genasi crosses his arms and looks at the others.

"Sure, why not?" Raivek says. "Can't let you keep all the fun for yourself now." He smiles.
