I think that I too must bow out. I very much want Anarya to get to reach the goal that was stated in the Discord, but I think that, realistically, some fresh blood to help give y'all some juice to get there may be better than my current state of enthusiasm. I'm sorry, I wish I was more excited to post but since I'm not the best thing to do is clear dead weight from the party and give y'all a chance to recruit some fresh, excited folks. That might also open you up to VTT, with Avelina and I both out, since I think we were the people most "blehh" over VTT, and if the rest of you are down for it that might help you. Here now. Sorry for my delayed post. Per: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (16) + 19 = 35 Raine had done her share of listening to the possible starry-eyed talk from Avelina about 'their glorious ancestor', albeit with some internal eye-rolling. At one time it would not have been internal. But fighting back to back with Avelina had softened her view of the other woman. She walked with an arrow on the string and that string half-drawn, her lips pressed together in a line and her eyes scanning the crypt entrance for whatever had desecrated her ancestor's resting place. Her new bowstring felt almost alive in her hand. "Something's moving there, eh."

Having never teleported before, Raine was a bit nervous. She asked Tauni several times, "And you're SURE I'll get to keep all of my-- bits? All the things that make me me....?" Finally assuaged, she consented to the travel. When they traveled the short distance from the teleport site to the actual city, Raine looked around at the fortress city with the avaricious gaze of one who has fresh coin to spend. First on her list was to find someone who could enchant her bow so that even if her limbs were cursed with weakness again, she might be able to still draw without difficulty. The other things she sought out in the city ranged from relatively mundane to more gold than she had ever so much as held in her life before, let alone spent. It felt strange, to pass over bags containing what seemed to her a king's ransom and to be given such a simple thing as a belt in turn-- but of course it wasn't a mundane belt. The strange grace that suffused her limbs once she'd donned the new belt made her helpless to stop lithely running around, as if to test the enchantment. There were other things she sought out-- but at last the final thing she looked for was simply a hot bath, and a night's rest in a real bed, not an army camp's cot, however well made. She walked the city with the others, admiring its fortifications and designs, occasionally gesturing to this or that tower with the length of her bow. When the request was passed to her and Avelina, Raine's brows climbed nearly to her hairline. "What, us, go find the tomb of Verity Evenhand? --who the hell's that, then?" Raine was clearly not that up on her own family tree, though perhaps Avelina was. The attentions of admirers made Raine uncomfortable. She tried to duck the little groups of interested people, and often took to trying to slip out of their temporary quarters via the roof.

Okay, I went through the list and notated value for the items we're selling, assuming the standard 50% sell cost for most goods, and full price for things like 'gems', etc. If that's incorrect let me know, Clebsch. With a five-way split, that comes out to 22,282 GP per person (and some silver and copper if you really wanna be nitty gritty). Okay, finally went through and noted the ones I'm claiming. Thank you for compiling that list, GM. -Karas and Ellena, are you sure you don't want one of those two potions of barkskin +5? that's a hecka nice potion with a really good duration for dungeon clearing-- 2 hours. I claimed one, but would be happy to give it to either of you as desired, as you two are likelier to get hit than me. -It looks like there were actually two cloaks of resistance +2 in this book-- there's one way down the list. Unless someone else claimed it at the time, there'd be two that are open, and both Tauni and Ellena want one, correct? Are either of you getting rid of a +1 cloak? If so, I'd be happy to take it. -Ellena, Raine, and Karas have now had a chance to go through list and claim; Tauni and Avelina still have to do so and/or declare not getting anything off it right now, and we'll go to sell phase if so. If nobody else wants it, I'll take the +1 vicious dagger just to have a backup melee weapon. I'll take the cloak of resistance +1 that I think Tauni is wearing right now as she is upgrading-- Raine has very few magic items, relatively. I'm interested in shopping, but have absolutely no clue what sort of gold we have to work with for that. My own files for Raine still list her wealth at essentially what I entered the campaign with-- i.e., I spent my starting wealth and have 12 Gp left over, with the only thing I've really picked up during the campaign being some magic armor that was pointed out to me as available loot (which I'm grateul for!). I'm aware of the Party Loot spreadsheet, but entries on there go back well before I joined the game, I think, and it looks like the last post that noted the actual post number was 2,000 posts ago. So I don't really know where we're at in terms of a gold split or a selling point or the like. I'm taking Mythic Deadly Aim for my feat. Still working on an IC post, but knowing even a ballpark of loot distribution would be helpful for figuring out what Raine might try and buy.

Raine will be taking Maximized Critical: Whenever you score a critical hit, the weapon’s damage result is always the maximum possible amount you could roll. This doesn’t affect other dice added to the damage, such as from sneak attack or the flaming weapon special ability. For example, if you score a critical hit with a longsword (1d8/×2), treat the sword’s damage dice as if you had rolled 8 both times, then add any other damage bonuses that you would normally apply to a critical hit. I believe I'm prone, even though the pit has been dispelled at this point. 19 damage after Anarya's life link heal. Raine had no concept of a 'roller coaster' but perhaps she's ridden on a ship through a storm at some point. She fell down a suddenly appeared pit-- cracked some bones - felt some heal - and then the hole was gone again and she was lying on her back gasping for air. Wincing, she got back to her feet, stumbled a few steps forward, and called out to the others: "Demons! We allow remember what they did to Kenabres! Karas, strike high if you can! Ellena-- while it reels from Karas!" Using my hunter's bond to give all allies within 30' (should be everyone) a +2/+2 untyped bonus to attack and damage with weapons against the shadow demon

I'm confused. Isn't deeper darkness a level 3 spell? And brightest light is a level 4? So shouldn't brightest light be canceling out deeper darkness where it penetrates? If you're intimating that the deeper darkness has been heightened, is that something that could be determined ICly via Spellcraft? I feel Karas's action was probably based on thinking OOCly that the brightest light would make the darkness go away as he approached, but if he's taking steps forward and seeing that not happen, maybe he wouldn't? IDK, the light rules are always frustrating.

Yeah, it makes no sense for him to try and go into a spot he can't see and fight blind, but that said-- would the 'brightest light' Tauni cast on his breastplate do anything about the deeper darkness if he approached it? Brightest Light is a level 4 spell, it looks like.

Must have! With the way forward appearing clear, Raine grimaced. She didn't like being their new front line, but hiding back here in the hallway wasn't going to win them any victories either. She stepped forward, a little ahead of Karas, and kept a cold iron arrow nocked on the string. She watched the globe of darkness for anything that was likely to emerge from it-- but kept her ears primed for anything that might be moving unseen, as well. Raine peered enough around the corner to register the darkness was totally pitchblack-- the sight that she'd been granted not so long ago did nothing to cut through it. She hissed in frustration.
