I spend some time chatting with my informants but eventually get back to our meet-up. "So, apparently there's this new centaur place in Narred that does super-hot pastries and..." I gather myself, "Right, sorry, down to business. off Emperor's Road in Oldtown just inside the Old City Gate on a small hill: that's where we'll find Pythoness House. Anyone need time or should we go now?"

Not wanting Shol'a'saul's words to hang in the air too long, I interject and slap the merchant merrily on the arm.
Then I turn to Aurora, "We should ask my friend Morsai about this: he knows all kinds of weird stuff." "Now let's get out of here before any annoyed, randy, drunk guardsmen turn up!"

I shrug, "That's a grand bit of a mystery you've got then: hopefully you'll make a tidy profit." Then I nod to Timmins, "Maybe we should head back to the bar and do some planning." Before turning to Kellisan, "Sorry to have troubled you. High spirits and a few beers, you know how it is. Would you care to join us for a drink?"

I watch the men leave and then saunter back to the shop and inside, out of the wet weather. "I have just sent the watch on a wild goose chase: should we need them then I imagine they'll be back in an hour or so. Unless there really has been trouble at the Ruby Siren tonight." I shrug, "But I doubt any of us are that lucky." Taking in the room, it is clear that no child abduction has occured, so I listen in to events and start pondering how best to revenge ourselves upon Ireale.

I head straight for the watch, hailing them as soon as I can and generally aiming to halt them as far from the action as possible. "Watchmen, what luck! I was passing The Ruby Siren not ten minutes ago and there had been some kind of trouble: some of the staff looked awfully distressed. I promised one lovely, gentle maiden that I would call on some aid if I could." bluff: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16

Quietly, I address the group, "We need lookouts. Cover the routes to the store and if guards or gangs come along then make some noise and get their attention while letting us know something is up. Maybe tell them you saw some amazing magical stuff coming from the spire: that'll get there attention." stealth: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (11) + 12 = 23 I join Timmins and whisper to him, "Well, it's probably a set-up. The question is: are we being set up, or is Kellisan?" Then I start figuring out all of the ways in.

I shrug and mutter to the elf, in Elvish, ఎవరో మాకు తో ఆడుతున్నారు: నేను ఇష్టం లేదు. Elvish:
Someone's playing with us, I don't like it. Then I move in close to Timmins and speak softly to him "I'll see you in a few hours: back at the inn: save me a drink." That said, I pad away into the night and circle back once the shadows have lengthened. stealth: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
Forgot a trait bonus, +1 to stealth result

I follow everyone outside but keep hold of my ale. Just before anyone hurtles across the city, I call out to the group, "Your keen sense of virtue cannot be doubted. But I think we've just had out table stolen." Then I shake my head, "That young woman is Ireale Tesimal, and Kellisan the shifty antiquarian was recently her lover." I raise my ale, take a last draught and grin mischief at the group, "I suggest a ruse." My grin expands, "We will find Kellisan, and arrange some false disaster to be communicated to the lady. Then we can tell some outrageous lies of our own and make a fool of her. I add a shrug, "And by visiting Kellisan, we can allay any slight concern that Ireale might speak truly... did we leave Morsai behind?"

I shake my head at the bar-room talk, "Well, nothing lasts forever. I wonder how far up the spire they'd get?" Then I turn my attentions back to the table, "aa' heren risa e' ron men" and give a smile and a nod to the elves among the group. Elvish: May fortune ever pave your way

Standing in the doorway with a mug of ale in my hand, I wave at Timmins, "Where have you two been? They've got the new Nutty Black on: it's great."
Waving my arms about, a splash of beer leaps out of my mug and splashes across the hand of a quietly spoken shoal elf, I immediately set my drinks down and produce a cloth from my pocket, Damn, I'm sorry. I didn't see you there. I offer the cloth and a sheepish grin, "Can I get you a drink, to gild my apology?"

Lost the internet for a week, glad to be back I enter just after Davina but hang back a bit. Hey, Rorrath did good work there, I was just the icing on the cake. After the laughter subsides from the barkeep's confusion I sit down with the rest, We worked well together there. Then I give Phon a friendly pat on the shoulder, You might just have been unlucky. We'll see you safe tonight. |
