Bio
Women are powerful.
This should come as no surprise to anyone living in Orendsen. With the right-of-rule of the kingdom turned on its head, the Queen has established herself as a serious power. Her strength as a monarch is representative of the strength of women everywhere to overthrow patriarchal systems. Her transformative act was also the marking of a great loss throughout the kingdom.

Women are special.
This is something that everyone living in the kingdom of Orendsen understands innately. Whether by curse or a result of divine trickery, women are in short supply.

Raevella was still a young child when the realization of the curse began to spread through the kingdom. With her father's death looming over her, Raevella was brought up by her mother, a strong woman in her own rights. She taught Raevella a great many things, especially concerning the art of persuasion.
Her mother ran a successful tavern outside the city limits, and there was no shortage of 'close friends' that would stop by occasionally, each one more exotic looking and acting than the last.
As Raevella grew in age, she began to get a deeper sense of the increasingly dangerous world Orendsen was becoming. Her mother frequently met with these adventuring types, seeking counsel in hushed tones.

It was after the arrival of one such figure, a man claiming to be a studied and travelling naturalist, that Raevella's mother disappeared entirely. Searching the house in vain, she ran screaming through the surrounding area, calling madly for her mother. The only response that came was a whooshing of flames as her family's home and business erupted with bright light. In a state of shock, she ran through the quickly collapsing building, but found no trace of others. Only the traveller's pet monkey remained, tethered to a post, howling wildly as the flames began to singe its fur.

Raevella fled her home with only the clothes on her back and this abandoned creature, heading toward town.

Women are resilient.
Unsure of the circumstances surrounding her mother's disappearance but fearing the worst, Raevella immediately began to create an alternate persona for herself; the distancing from her real identity was a defensive, reflexive decision. Tending to the poor wounded creature was her main priority. She quickly bonded with the animal, finding solace in its returned affection. She quickly found that she could draw a kind of strength from her devotion to it. It was reciprocal. She named it Thakkotini but was never convinced it was wholly her idea.

Raevella formed such a close connection with Thakko on these early days huddling together for warmth, begging for food and shelter, that she quickly begun to realize she couldn't imagine being separate from it. Additionally, it was her only link to the mysterious visitor and therefore to the fate of her mother.

One morning she desperately poured her heart out to Thakko, naively imploring it to reveal what knowledge it was holding onto. Thakko responded in a way, and it was more than she ever could have imagined. Thakko had a great number of mystic secrets to share, and Raevella proved to be a quick learner. Throughout her familiar's lessons, she couldn't help but feel like she was a little girl again, receiving her schooling lessons from her mother.

Women are going to change things.
With newfound confidence, power, and support, Rae and Thakko began to do better for themselves. Rae has taken to travelling through Orensden disguised as a male scholar conducting research. She is doing all she can to avoid drawing attention to herself, while simultaneously gathering as much information as possible about her missing mother; she knows something big is happening in the kingdom, and can't help but feel like everything is connected.
