![]() I watch the 'spy' leave suspiciously. Then I look about the area silently for anything out of the ordinary. perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
my eyes glow ominously green as I scan the area. ![]()

![]() I roll my eyes at all the meaningless antics and Follow La'vriel out. I ponder why the Mayor is hiring Crimson Banner if we know they are shady operators and sigh. Nothing for it "Let us finish this killing investigation and move onto things that I am more apt at, such as putting a stop to the killer or investigating some of our other job leads." I say shooting a side long look at the member of the Crimson Banner in our party. ![]()

![]() I keep trying to give others the chance to post before I railroad stuff but I am getting tired of waiting days on end "Let us see about this guarded warehouse first, then we will vote on if we should look into this alchemist or check in with the mayor." I say with a finality as I turn and head for the door. "Come with me if you wish to see what is in this warehouse, otherwise I will just check myself." ![]()

![]() Strange, my update showed that you posted in the discussion page the other day but not here. I will be here for this campaign until you as DM say it is over. After hearing what our employer has to say I state, "This seems more important then meeting the alchemist, perhaps on the same level as investigating the warehouse due to it being owned by the people in question possibly. I believe that it should garner our full attention." ![]()

![]() I retrieve the conch shell from the shark toothed woman "We could not have overcome the adversaries that were here. If you want to throw your lives away if a situation like this comes up again feel free, but leave me out. I was trying to maneuver us so that we could either get the girl without bloodshed or get the opponent in a position that we could attack with confidence of winning. However since neither of those occurred I will take what we can get while surviving. Let us return these women to their homes and then report to our benefactor." I assist with escorting the women home and promise the Tiefling to return in the morning. Once we return to our benefactor I report what occurred, that we could not rescue the girl without endangering our own lives and show him the conch shell. ![]()

![]() I am assuming the woman we were talking to and her body guards can hear everything we say considering she is right in front of us, or is at least smart enough to be suspicious of a whispered conversation, not smart to talk about killing someone when standing directly in front of them. I speak in a normal voice. "You are fools, if we try to attack them the woman we were sent to check after will die and we gain nothing. Better to cut a deal so everyone leaves happy. Our employers concern is the girl, is there any way we can convince you to let us take her off your hands?" ![]()

![]() "The family that was working out of this house has not been seen for some time except the daughter, yet the fishery seemed to be selling extremely well. We were paid to discover why." So there are currently 4 'guards' and the woman with shark teeth? as well as the 3 captives and the woman with a knife to her throat correct? ![]()

![]() "Agreed, there is a time for talking and a time for fighting. We are currently in a time for talking. Let us hear what is to be said." If Jerry and I are all that is left of our original group I am more then willing to continue. Our plan of action for this combat should probably change, however because I don't think I can take them all. ![]()

![]() "I have already stayed my hand when I could have attacked." I say as I slide my sword into my sheath. "I have come here to learn answers, if you would provide them yourself rather then me having to puzzle it out, that would be preferable. It would also be preferable that your captives do not die. Enlighten me, are you working alone or does someone else benefit from what you do?" I am curious, but I am also stalling for time so I am no longer fatigued if I have to fight. ![]()

Seeing the creature and recognizing what it is jolts me out of my rage, I slump slightly as my fatigue catches up to me but I try not to let it be too obvious. "I was hired to discover why the family that lives here has not been seen in a time. I came to investigate and ran into your welcoming party down stairs." I speak loudly, so as to alert my allies but not so loudly as to tip off the Malenti. ![]()
