Seeing Almar threaten the women in the wagon, Isa bristles with anger. A bumping on her leg makes her look down to see Tefnut. It is not your problem...do not draw attention to yourself or we may have a bigger problem! She shakes her head slightly as if trying to throw off her familiar's words, but she can do nothing but agree and continues walking with Cillian.

Isa looks worried as Borak talks back to Tazim. She is also slightly surprised to hear him refer to the slaves in such a casual way. She holds her breath and waits to see what happens while looking over at Shang to see his response.

Isa shyly looks at the two foreign warriors she finds walking with her. Unsure what to do, she starts to babble about the weather, their upcoming trip and the great elephant, which she acts as she has never seen before. When Cillian speaks to Isa she smiles politely but the look of the woman reminds her too much of the temple prostitutes back home. When she mentions their wounds, Isa nervously nods and agrees. "Yes, he is very hardy. Umm, I need to speak with my companions...alone. It will just be a moment. Sorry" She pulls the two warriors aside and waits until they are mostly alone before speaking. "That...woman. She has very sharp eyes and I do not trust her. Watch yourselves...she could be dangerous!"

Isa does everything she can to remain calm. A slaver! If I had known I would never have agreed to this! And to offer one of the girl slaves to the men for 'sport' is barbaric! While slavery was always a part of her home, she never truly cared for it, and now seeing the slaves and how they are treated, she likes it even less. Waking, but still feeling tired, Isa quickly dresses and repacks her things. She waits for the boys to awake before venturing forth to have something to eat. The use of *MAAT* uses up energy, and food is needed to keep her powers at their peak. "Wake up sleepy heads. Can you not smell that delicious odour coming from the kitchen? Come...I am hungry and need my chaperones to accompany me!"

Isa takes out her healer's kit and begins to gather the necessary items needed to take care of Borak's wounds. When all the guards have left, she calls upon her priestly powers and uses *MAAT* to heal her friend. Healing Hex: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 She then turns the magic to her own wound. Isa keeps herself mostly covered and says very little. The unwanted attention in town brought home the idea that she could still have people looking for her, and that she needed to keep a low profile. She waits with Shang as Borak speaks to the guards, eager to get to their assigned spot and get some sleep. Tufnut winds himself in and out between her legs as if trying to hurry her on.

Isa nods her thanks to the guard and retrieves her tile if it is offered. She then heads to a location away from the wagons, but still close enough to offer some security. "I am concerned by whoever was in that sedan chair. It gave me the creeps..." A shiver shakes her small body as she remembers the feeling. "Perhaps getting out of town right now was a very good idea!"

Isa smiles down at the cat as Borak comments about spoiling it. "Too late I'm afraid. It already has a taste for the high life!" She scoops the animal up as they close with the encampment. As he mentions the Tower, another shiver runs through the witch and Tefnut gives a low growl. "Perhaps, but like I said...later. Maybe when we return. The lure of treasure and lore is strong, but I think the danger will be just as deadly."

As Borak mentions the Ziggurat and Tower, Isa gets a chill run up her spine. "Maybe not right now Borak! Let's finish the job for the merchant first. When we come back we can look into then, but right now I think it might be a very bad idea to go exploring into either building." She takes a step closer to her protectors as they walk to the southern gate. The thought of Baal-Khardah brings her thoughts back to her schooling at the temple of Bastet back 'home'. While most of their 'ceremonies' were sedate, she had heard of the blood cults and others that make human sacrifice. "Yes...let's get out of town for a little bit. I am afraid someone might have seen me use my *MAAT* and that is not something I want to try and explain to the local governor!"

She glances back at the merchant and his caravan master before again looking away, her face set in a serious look of contemplation. "What could he be moving that is worthy of so much protection?"

The way the merchant looked at me and spoke...might he know what we are? That might be unfortunate, but I guess we will have to wait and see!" The Saltmarsh game is AWESOME!! It is the only game that I was able to make a difference by using my background skills (netmaking!!) Amazingly layered and so much flavour...it is great and immersive. These ones are the ones I always love to play...and have been taking a page from him in my own online game and adding these many ideas. It is great.

Savouring the spicy flavours of the biryani, Isa shakes her head slightly. "Not nearly so spicy, but more savoury and nuanced. But this...this is delicious! Description: Jayik is a scrawny white-scaled kobold with slightly elongated horns. He works in the alchemy business, and takes pride in what he does. Backstory: Jayik is the son of two sorcerers, and the sibling of several. Jayik figured that, since the blood of dragons ran through the veins of his family, it would only be a matter of time until his own powers developed. Who knows? One day, he could even BE a dragon of some description. And so, while studying under the local alchemists as a lab assistant, he waited. And waited And waited. Distraught that his draconic blood had failed him, Jayik decided that if he couldn't be a sorcerous dragonkin, he could at least emulate a dragon in some ways, perhaps even alter himself a bit later down the line. Studying every old book and scrap of knowledge he could find, he eventually managed to scrounge up a passable formula book, and, with his alchemy experience, created his Magnum Opus: his White Dragonbreath Grenades, bombs that rain white fire while making less noise than the average bomb. With these bombs, and his semi-magical powers, he sought to prove himself a worthy scion of dragonkind. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Not long after he created his first few bombs, his tribe was conquered by a young red dragon. Appalled by the cruelty that the dragon imposed on his people, Jayik fled into the night with his siblings. They went their separate ways, and Jayik eventually made his way to the human lands, making a new life as a freelance alchemist. He still dreams of becoming a dragon-ish being and retaking his homeland, but realizes that he needs to become much more powerful before that can happen. |
