It seems DDN will come with an out of the box system for mass combat under the old Battlesystem name. Basically scaling up things from the regular combat rules. Fairly simple and reasonably useful for taking care of the odd battle although I think a more in depth approach would be better for games featuring large numbers of battles.
This won't be out for a year plus, but the kickstarter succeeded (to the tune of about 1.75 million USD) and it sounds incredible. Definitely worth a look... if you like 1st person multi platform medieval RPGs with a significant level of realism :) Check out the trailer. It's on the Cry Engine and they are sharing tech / work with RSI / Star Citizen (another game I'm waiting on...). https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1294225970/kingdom-come-deliverance
There are some indications (from 2 3PP) that DDN may use the OGL (or at least a much less restrictive license than the GSL). It seems they want support from 3PP. Dale McCoy (John Brazier Enterprises) and Dias Ex Machina (Amethyst setting) both believe so based on coversations with WotC employees and others close to the company. That would certainly bode well for support materials for DDN although you have to wonder how, or if, this would integrate with WotC's online tools... Interesting. The speculation has been going on on ENWorld for a couple of days. I started wondering about the possibility after 2 3PP indicated they had heard the same thing. I guess we'll see. http://www.enworld.org/forum/showthread.php?347232-Hypothetical-question-fo r-3pp-5e-goes-OGL-what-would-you-publish/page6
I'm curious. I paid for Bestiary 4 on October 14. It's the 28th and the PDF is available to the general public tomorrow. And mine hasn't shipped. It is combined with Gygax Magazine #2 for shipping, but that was ordered, and available, in September. Is the magazine holding it up, and if so why? Am I just on the tail end of subscribers? Or is there some issue I'm not aware of? I'd appreciate some information. Thank you. *edit* Well consulting the updated sticky on ship dates I see the 31st is now the projected end date. *sigh* Have to work on my patience. Thanks, sorry to be a pain.
I placed an order for two copies of the Swords and Wizardry Complete print edition. I used a Mastercard gift card ($100 - Santa was good to me) which had been registered online. The card was declined. I thought, well maybe I screwed up the numbers. I tried again. Declined again. This time it said "insufficient funds". I checked on the registration website and my card has been charged twice, $47.34 each time, and now has $5.32 left on it. $47.34 was the cost of two S&W Complete books with shipping. The merchant on the registration website for both purchases is listed as "PAIZO.COM". No confirmation e-mail from Paizo. Nothing under pending orders. Nothing but an nearly empty gift card. More than a little annoying. I had planned on picking up the S&W copies from you and going to Amazon for an item you don't carry (The Adventurer Conqueror King hardback print edition). Right now, I don't have my S&W ordered, don't have a card with money to make my Amazon order and am out $94.68. I have never had this type of an issue with gift cards on Paizo. I'd appreciate it if something could be done about this. I don't believe the card is reloadable, but it would be nice to get my S&W copies and maybe store credit for the second pair (I only need 2 copies - one for me and one for my brother). Thank you.
Good news for those of you who like your SFRPGs. Marc Miller has a T5 kickstarter on and it has already passed the basic goal. There is going to be a 600 page Traveller core rulebook which will include pretty much all the stuff you might remember and a lot of new material (i.e. robots / AI (as PCs), genetic engineering, artificail life, systems for constructing pretty much everything - not just starships, and a whole lot more). If you're not familiar with Traveller you should be :D Should be fun. Not linked below, just copy and paste or search kickstarter. I've been waiting for this. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/traveller5/traveller-5th-edition
I've just subscribed to the PFRPG subscription. My wife wants to buy me the book (Bestiary 2) that I subscribed for. She wants to put it on her credit card rather than mine. It's subjective, I know but very sweet in an odd way. Would it be all right to change the payment method to her card and then switch it back to mine later, or would this interfere with the subscription? Curious to know... Thanks.
I don't know if this has already been posted, but PCGen 5.16.0 has been released. A stable release with full support for the Pathfinder RPG Beta ruleset. Sounds good to me. Downloads at Sourceforge.net Not quite sure where this belongs in the forums. Probably in some aother area :D If so, please move it. Thanks.
I am revising some things in my campaign after a hiatus of about a year. Tha last year at work was just... ugly. Massive work overload and no spare time. Yes btw, PRPG figures into it now :) Anyway, I was looking over some of my house rules and ideas and considering changes to them. It occured to me that advice from other players / DMs could be a good idea. Glancing around the boards here, the closest I see to an advice / suggestion forum on this is the Proposed New Rules section of the PRPG Alphas or the General Discussion Forum for D&D 3.5 / d20 / OGL. Not exactly what I was looking for. What about a "housrules / homebrew" forum for the DM. It could have subsections for different areas and people looking for ideas or advice could go to specific sub sections to post or read... of course this could get chaotic and messy... no, make that *would* get chaotic and messy. Still, it could be useful. |
