Hello Folks,
your invisible temper tantrum spewing mostly good-natured feyling is speaking.
But only to say, that it may take some time for me to flit back into action.
Radavel knows already what is happening in the life of my player.
Next time I chime in, he may be
a) married (he's been to the town register on Tuesday with his fiancee to declare their wish to get married)
b) unemployed (his company's downsizing from 800 to 450, and IT will also feel the heat)
c) working in his house (they've bought a house this year)
d) holding the German version of "Crown of the Kobold King" in his grubby hands, with his credit as sole translator of the book.
I shall also give a message for that halfling, Quince.
Quince? Tell your player: "Congrats, Rob!"
'til then,
Quirk
PS: and don't let Franuflen get the best of you all.
Quirk flies down to Feynor and whispers in his ear. "Pst, there is something metallic gleaming in those bushes to the right. Be prepared. Will investigate."
And repeats the message to the Rolly the dwarf, Quince and Coralee repeating this message, while Drint is gone into the yard. With that, he flits up high into the air and tries to approach the bush in question from up above and the back as quiet as he can.

"Those dwarves living here, they cut up the whole forest and laid waste to the complete area with those fumes from their forges. We still wonder why they didn't die on their own smoke immediately. Took nature centuries to claim back what was taken from it so long ago. I'd be ashamed, if my ancestors did that."

"Well, some fairies are known to like little children very much... for dinner.... don't look at me like this... it is not my race i am talking 'bout. We pixies abhor eating flesh from living creatures. But I have heard from my former friends, well they are dead now, aren't they, that children went missing in the woods in the last months... several ones. Some bones were found, so they were eaten. Drint? Drint? Perhaps they want to feed some fairies with them, I did not suggest, those kobolds would eat them." Quirk hovers a bit out of reach of the irascible kobold trying to defend his own race.

"Be it dwarves or kobolds, it doesn't matter. If we do not do something about it, there is a blackness that will engulf the complete vale. Even our ancestors warned us little ones, not to go there, lest the darkness be awakened. And for your score you have to settle... how about an eating contest. Who gets to eat more of something delicious in round one, in round two who eats more of something disgusting, and round three... hmmm.. who eats mashed potatoes faster? And whoever finishes first can shove the head of his opponent into the rest of the food on his plate..."

Quirk buzzes into the fray keeping to the rafters of the hut screaming at the top his lung "Get OUT, you oafs! Haven't i told you that this place is cursed?" grabbing all sorts of jars and peppering the cauldron with glassy distractions....
"This root should look like its name says. A rat's tail. But be sure you get the root and not the tail itself. I am sure Ulizmila would use this kind of ingredient, too."

This is a bit while we were getting acquainted with Rolly:
"I am Quirk, and as you can see I am way above the others. Hmmmmm? I come from these woods and am on a mission my queen to to... emmm ... oops... ammm ... to find the murderers of my kin and bring them to the of justice of Franuflen. Do you know Franuflen? He is our god of winter and Vengeance. And the Rat's tail and the ironbloom mushrooms. We gotta find those, too. That's our mission. Yep."
Quirk is a small figure with wings "attached" to his leather armor, that keeps him a foot above the round. His long ears and golden hair round a youthful face with a pointy nose and quirky eyes, that definitely show friendly mischief.

"Did I tell you she's very scary? Well... when I was small... well, smaller then I am now... don't giggle... I am serious here... well, our parents always told us to be careful, when making a deal. If Ulizmila would be our bargaining partner, we might miss an eye or tongue afterwards. Scaary..."
Quirk nods solemnly as he buzzes just a bit over the ground, accompanying the others.

"Me, afraid of heights? HA! I can FLY!" With those words he lifts himself up into the frozen foliage. "Don't look down, don't look down, don't look down..." and tries to spot a piece of the moss that hasn't been spoiled yet.

"I am still hurting all over" Quirk says to Coralee," but since I already slept due to being unconscious I was well rested during the night. Still hurts big time, though..."

"When we are ready to break camp, we need to go where the ice blooms. There we will find the Eldest tree in the forest, an ancient darkwood tree."
As Quirk wakes up from his brush with death he blinks three times and yawns heavily.... "Uuuaaahhhhh...smack smack"
He sniffles around a bit and looks to the others. "Go a bit more to the right, Grendel. The Eldest is not far from here. I already smell the Old Trees of the Darkwood Forest." He looks around as he is still carried by the dog and watches as the others are looking at him puzzled. "Sure you can smell how old a tree is, can't you? You can also hear it by his groaning in the wind. This here is a very old part of the forest."
As Fyindel brows do not make one little twitch to get a bit of distance between them. Quirk thinks for a short time, looks down to Grendel and enlightened he says. "Thank you, Grendel. You have carried me through my ordeal, as the priestess brought me near to death. I will never forget that." Then his wings begin to hum and he lifts a bit into the air, so his feet are just off the ground and he looks expectantly into the round. "Well, we are the last hope of Falcon's Hollow, are we not?"

Quirk is still in the land of dreams. And the dreams are terrible indeed.
The dark woman has found the way to the village of the fairies. And he has to find a way to warn them before she gets to kill all his friends. So he is flying through the woods and is smelling smoke. Haste and panic override his fears and he barrels on unaware of the leaves and small branches swatting at his face, hands and wings.
Quirk flies a bit above the others and notices the swaying bush as he cuts the curve she is making. "Franuflen!!!" he cries out as he plunges after her.

Quirk will keep hovering out of reach of this dangerous woman and wonders how he is still alive, these evil energies would have been enough to bring him to the brink of death. Then he attacks again with his light crossbow.
Dodge on the female cleric => AC 20, attack with small light crossbow from more than 30'.

Ulp. This scythe is deadly.
Seeing the face of the person responsible for the death of his friends, he memorizes it and points a finger at her while floating farther away from her. "By the winds of Franuflen, prepare to reap, what you have sowed, woman. Be aware of your steps in this forest, as everyone will know the face of the murderer of fey and humans."
Moving awaay from her and preparing to cast dancing lights (DC16) with my next action.
If the scythe-wielding chap is not stopping his assault on Grendel, Quirk will feign an attack with his rapier (dropping his invisibility) to catch him flat-footed with his entangle spell afterwards.
