Backstory:
Quatranius Apselemalar has been a common sight in Sandpoint for the past few decades. Working as a capable, if ecclectic, cook at whichever inn fired him least recently, he indulged his temporary obsessions and whiled away the days at his hut outside of town, away from distractions.

Things changed for him a few months ago, when his trip to barter with goblins for the best pricknettles went sour. One of them thought it would be funny to stab him, and that's how he ended up bleeding to death in the outskirts of Shank's wood. It was where he was certain he would die, if not for the vision of a glorious golden warrior, bedecked in shining armour and wielding an exotic sword. She approached him, told him that it wasn't his time yet, and healed him with blinding holy light.

When he came to his senses, he found that she didn't have armour or a sword, she was just an old human woman named Koya. Quatranius would be forever grateful to her for saving his life, but he couldn't shake the image of the warrior woman. He forgot all his other pursuits and researched her extensively, eventually finding a match in an old religious text, "The Fifteen Wisdoms"; she was the Goddess Shizuru. Goddess of honor, swordplay and the sun, Quatranius oughtn't to have paid her any mind, but he felt like all his obsessions until now were just searching, and he pursued his reading with renewed vigour.

In the months that followed, everyone who met Quatranius found him to be changed. He wore armour everywhere he went, and a curved sword at his side. He bows to pay respect, and almost never hides exploding-pears in the stew at the Rusty Dragon anymore. Some have even seen him with bright golden eagles flying around him, though never for long.

For himself, he knows there's something different about this obsession. The more he learns, the more he realizes how much more he has to learn. He wants to know more, he wants to visit a temple. Fairly soon he's considering moving to a bigger city to find worshippers. Could he help cook at a temple? Or just learn more of Shizuru's ways? Whatever it is he's sure of one thing: this isn't something he's going to drop.
