On page 22 it lists rewards of defeating Hallod and one of those rewards is a runestone containing the shadow rune. I was able to find runestone on page 571 of the Core Rulebook. However, I can not find anywhere the steps to transfer magic from a runestone to an item, in this case non-metallic armor. The Shadow property is listed on page 583 of the Core Rulebook. When looking up etching you have to make a Craft DC (up to the DM; page 244) to etch an ability on a runestone as well as having the formula to do so. To me this seems extremely complicated for a piece of first level loot. The way I was going to rule it is that if you want to transfer the rune of shadow to a set of armor, you can do so without any check if from a runestone.

So it seems, with this rule set that Quantum Steve shared with us, that dealing with swarms and the blunderbuss have been answered (at least to me). One of the key points for me was one that isn't listed here and that is the clarification of the area affects. I found it on the pathfinder srd under swarm template: "If the area attack does not allow a saving throw, the swarm takes double damage instead." So I feel confident now in the ruling that Knight Magenta has made and shall follow it for our gaming sessions in regards to swarms. I also agree with the statement of not destroying the figments of the mirror image, however the argument is that the blunderbuss is not a spell area of effect, so the rule, " Area spells affect you normally and do not destroy any of your figments" doesn't apply to this situation. Any further discussion points on this? I am totally on the fence at this point (which is better than where I was before this discussion began).

I have done some research to try and answer my own question (and that of my players) but to no avail. We are starting a dwarf campaign and one of the members of the party is going to be running a Guntank with a blunderbuss. He has asked in preparation of the start of this ongoing campaign the following questions that I do not have an answer to: 1) If a blunderbuss with the conical attack is employed against a wizard with mirror images up, does it destroy all the images if the attack roll against the images hits an AC 10? Or does it not affect them at all and the player would have but one attack and that would be against the wizard? 2) If the PC's encounter a swarm of spiders and the Guntank shoots his aoe conical attack into the swarm, does it damage the swarm on a successful hit? This is confusing to me because the shot is an area affect but it also includes an attack roll with a physical weapon. Normally physical weapons don't do damage to a swarm but its an aoe, so it is not a clear cut decision on my part. An official ruling would be awesome! We start our yearly 5 day gaming session next week and could really use some assistance before then. Thank you in advance for your advice in handling this.

Thus far reading over the packet that was sent out it seems like a really dumbed down version of dnd. Very basic, but maybe thats what they intend. I am not a fan thus far, but need to play test it to see how smooth things go before making a final verdict on this. Edit: Paizo my money is safe with your products and I intend to continue to support you regardless of dnd next.

I will start out by saying I have and will continue to support Paizo by subscribing to as many things as I can. What I am curious about is why there are so few adventures written for levels 12 on up. I know I have 10 characters that I have put a ton of time into and they are all stuck at level 12 because of lack of pre-written adventures. It makes me not want to have my characters that are 9th level go on any adventures because I don't want them to get into that dead zone. I have 2 characters that are above 12th level that have been just solo characters, and I have 3 that have gone on the adventure paths that are 19 or 20th. The solo characters have all but exhausted the old dungeon magazine adventures and a lot of the 3.0 third party adventures. Are there any in the works for the upcoming months or do I have to beg and plead my gaming group to write something? P.S. Our yearly 6 day gamecon is coming up at the end of March. Hoping to find something for atleast one DM to run by then.
