I dunno if people are still using these journal cards (and how does one even apply Boons nowadays?), but I'm confused with a specific 'goal' in the Sovereign Court's section.

【Fulfill one of the three goals above without revealing your faction affiliation to anyone other than a present member of the faction or a prospective NPC recruit. Checking a box for this goal does not prevent you from checking a box for another goal.】

(PS: the "three goals above" are basically all related to recruiting NPCs with diplomacy checks, recovering blackmail/incriminating material for NPCs, dissuade an NPC from an enemy faction, etc. You can find the journal cards in " https://paizo.com/products/btpy9dgw ")

How do I tell someone to "join me" without responding to "What faction do you want me to join?" And are there any better definition for 'Prospective recruits' in this situation? Because if my language comprehension is worth anything, it really does sound like some demonic retail level of silvertongue smooth talk, which results in people already paying for something without the retailer telling customers what they're paying for. Essentially needing the NPC to already agree to join without telling them what faction you're affiliated to.

As a player lacking in Charisma and constantly failing Diplomacy checks in real life (and English not being my native language), I find this particular goal to be a tall order to roleplay..... But personal feelings aside, what are the conceivable ways that this can be achieved? Could anyone give me some examples?

So, as we all know, one of the requirements of becoming a Hellknight is:

【The character must slay a devil with HD greater than his character level. This victory must be witnessed by a Hell Knight.】

And as expanded by the rulebook:

【Running a Hell Knight Test: The Hell Knight test requires each would-be Hell Knight to slay a devil whose Hit Dice exceed her own. Such a test is typically performed to fulfill the requirements of the Hell Knight or Hell Knight signifer prestige class, which many classes can access by 5th level. As such, 6-HD bearded devils are the fiends most commonly battled during the test (higher-level initiates must face higher-level devils). Those taking the test are allowed to carry into battle any weapons, armor, wands, potions, and other equipment they wish. Additionally, they may receive the benefits of allies’ magic, so long as it is cast prior to the test’s start. The ceremony preceding the test typically lasts over an hour, meaning that spells with a duration in minutes typically wear off before combat begins. During the test, should an armiger receive aid from outside the testing ring, she is disqualified and imprisoned (along with her conspirators). Such cheaters typically face a brief trial and execution.】

However, what is the 'exact timing' one would become a true Hellknight in the context of PFS, which calculates EXP meticulously? Is it when a character is at level 5 maxed exp and ready to level up into level 6, ask the GM from PFS to run a Hellknight test encounter, and if they emerge victorious they take all of the 1st level Hellknight stuff as their 6th level?

Or is it possible to take the test at the beginning of level 5 (but not have enough exp to level up just yet), emerge victorious, then however much time later they level up and become a Hellknight?

What happens if the character decides to *not* take the Hellknight level immediately? Like having passed the test at level 5, but taking Fighter 6 and planning to get Hellknight at level 7? What are the consequences? (Aside from being sneered at by your Hellknight peers for delaying) Would they still qualify, or would they need to retake the test at the new level?

I'm an Asian roleplayer who wants to get into pathfinder 1e, but I'm having trouble finding communities for PF1e (most groups I could find were mostly for PF2e). Are there any places like specific web forums or discord servers dedicated to LFP for pathfinder 1e? Most places just tell me to 'find a local game store', but since tabletop RPG like PF and DND are very niche in Asia that avenue is not available. Plus being in Asia means time zone problems when trying to find groups in a community that are composed predominantly with American/Europeans. Which is why I'm specifically looking for online communities.

Also would like to know if there's a LFP section for this Paizo forum, since I haven't been able to find it so far.

PS: I'm still slightly on the fence on whether I should focus my efforts on learning PF1e or PF2e. I'm interested in some of the PF1e Adventure Paths, but don't really know if I can actually find a group for them. PF2e is the 'current' edition and is active, but I have not been exposed to anything in that direction just yet.
