About Professor Zoom
Stands 3 feet 5 inches and weighs in at 75 pounds. Has dark gray fur and blue eyes. Is fond of wearing various technological devices—most of which are mostly functioning, most of the time. Wears a pin on his breast which marks him as a member of the Second Seekers faction of the Starfinder Society.
Born on Castrovel to a family of itinerent tinkers called the Fixits, Nibs—whose moniker "Zoom" was establish early on in life due to his love of speed—studied engineering and technomancy on Absalom Station. During his schooling he adopted his new home's name as his own surname, and became an adjunct professor of engineering at the small university from which he graduated. Zoom loves technology and the application of magic, but he's particularly fond of modifying his personal effects—none of his possessions escapes some kind of tinkering.
He fights tactically, preferring to use planning to seize advantage in a conflict. Zoom always relies on speed and maneuverability to put enemies at a disadvantage once in the thick of things. He frequently leans on technological devices and technomancy to act as a force multiplier. (Often literally.)
In space, Zoom prefers to be hands-on with a starship's engineering systems, but is a very competent pilot, gunner, or science officer. He feels no need to be at the forefront, leading with strength or charm—but is always quick to offer opinions and tactics during space battles.
