About Professor Guilliam de Creth
You might expect a man with a beast lurking inside of him who was driven from his home and wandered to the far side of the world to escape the looming history behind him to have a very complicated relationship with himself. However, Professor de Creth is actually rather far from what you might expect.
At one time in his life he might have just been another bookish academic and alchemist, performing the dull but vital work of slowly advancing civilization's understanding of the world at large. That was before he got his hands on the samples of sun orchid and awakened Égaré inside of himself. He is not brooding or grim, but rather contented with his role of Égaré's manager and the two of them have been on a tour of the various fighting pits and arenas around the world.
Égaré gets the violence he needs and Guill has a steady flow of income with which to keep the two of them fed. They are two sides to the same coin and have quite the healthy understanding, though neither particularly advertises that they are one and the same. Oh, and do not bother asking him for details on the emergence of Égaré and just what drove him from his comfortable life in academia, Guill will certainly not be telling you.
Guill is an unremarkable enough man rendered somewhat remarkable by being a foreigner to these lands. Healthy but not particularly imposing, he does not carry a sword, only keeping a knife on his person for the vaguest sense of protection. There are always his explosives and implosives... and Égaré, we cannot forget Égaré.
Though dressing to the standards he once kept has grown increasingly difficult the further away from home he has gotten, Guill does his best to keep up appearances as it is a solid marketing and negotiation strategy to seem strange and foreign while really having a solid grasp on things. So he maintains the image of a Varisian gentleman abroad with his waistcoats and jackets and superfluous cane.
