Hi there!

I've just taken over for our old DM and am currently running the second part of Age of Worms adventure path. "The Spire of Long Shadows" is coming along nicely, so I'm already preparing for "The Prince of Redhand".

My problem is this [SPOILERS]:

I don't understand why Lashonna has created the Ebon Triad in the first place. What's the point? What has the Ebon Triad achieved for her? She doesn't seem to need it anymore, but why did she ever need it?

I'd like to give my players the chance to take out the Ebon Triad for good (and the adventure provides an opprotunity to do just that via a list of members), but I fear I'll be hard pressed to explain this whole charade (i.e. Lashonna being behind it all) once it comes out later...

Any help, whether by explaining it to me or suggesting an explanation of your own, is very much appreciated.

On a related note, I feel that I can't let the players know about the 'Great Project' in Alahaster - they'll spot the implications of this structure a mile away. Instead, I'm planning to (a) just include a reference to extensive construction projects all over Alahaster, (b) cover up the map's legend, and (c) move the new ziggurat underground (to be raised through the ground via _wish_ (or whatever) when the time comes.

Best regards,

P.

Hi guys!

I'm in a bit of a bind...

I'm going to run "The Spire of Long Shadows" in the next weeks as a stand-in for our regular DM. We're playing in Eberron, so I'd love to adapt the adventure to that setting. The problem is that I can't read the campaign overview or the later modules because I'll be a player again after TSoLS. Hence, I'm unsure whether I can make certain changes to the background...

I really need your help and careful consideration. If you can, please help me with the following points without giving away the rest of the plotline.

(a) I'd like to place Kyuss' ziggurat (=The Spire of ...) in Xendrik.

(b) I'd like to provide the characters with some backstory regarding the worm that was brought to Kyuss by the spellweaver all those ages ago. I'd like to make it into something very alien - an evil seedling not just from another plane (e.g. the Abyss) but from another universe or Creation (injected into the character's multiverse to take over).

(c) I'm toying with the idea of making Kyuss (and possibly the citizens of his original city) into giants or titans.

I figure that (a) and (b) are unproblematic. Is this correct?

I figure that (c) is probably not going to have many repercussions down the road except for having to adjust every minion's size to large or huge as appropriate. I'm already doubling the size of the ziggurat in every dimension. And I suspect that Kyuss' aspect or avatar is at least huge and has its own uniques set of stats anyway.

What's your take on this (without giving away too much - I'll just have to trust your judgement)?

Regards

M.

P.S.: I have one more question: Can I appropriate the character of Manzorian (e.g. for a love story or whatever)? Or does he have a predefined role which might be at odds with modifying him and his motivations?
