Thanks ZZTRaider and CampinCarl9127. I'm going to run this past my DM and see what he thinks.

Thanks Randarak!

Hi all! My question is as the subject line says. I am creating a level 13 sorcerer, and would like to have permanent darkvision or see invisibility. However, I would like to avoid having to take those spells, and would prefer to use a scroll if possible.

To specify: I want to avoid putting "darkvision" and "see invisibility" on my spell list, but I will take "Permanency".

Reading the text of the permanency spell:
"You first cast the desired spell and then follow it with the permanency spell."

Reading the text of scrolls:
"Using a scroll is basically like casting a spell."

So I'm guessing... all good? I use a scroll of darkvision, use my permanency spell from my spell list (with the requisite cost from diamond dust). But I am looking for confirmation that my conclusion is correct.

Thanks in advance!
