Day late and a dollar short as the saying goes but hopefully someone still watches these boards and can help a newer GM out :)

We're still in the Parched Dunes, only done encounters A, B, and C so far, but I'm preparing for the endgame early. Well the maps anyways. I'm really struggling with the Sightless Sphinx exterior map... I mean it's 1 square is 30 ft! That's 6x6 squares and it's already a biiiiiiig map...

So how did/would you all handle this? I'm working with Dungeon Alchemist/Dungeon Painter Studio and Roll20. Making the maps isn't the problem it's getting them all loaded up. I have 2 of my PCs on potato computers that have a hard time with my 25x25 maps LOL!

I mean, just J1 is 60x72! And that wouldn't even include the WHOLE sphinxes...

Any help is greatly appreciated :D

Okay so this subject has kind of been talked about a ton with very little info to help me in my situation.

The game I'm playing in is a 20-point-buy, with one little change - Racial Ability Score Modifiers don't exist. Instead you get a +2 to any stat and a -2 to any stat. Also, you can chose to take an additional +2 to any stat OR an additional feat.

Also, no one really talks about the alternate racial traits for this build... I really like my prehensile tale Tiefling Alchemist!! Adaptable Luck as a replacement for Halfling Luck seems nifty but how practical is it on a tankadin? Are any of the alternate racial traits worth it? I don't have to worry about Perception (I know, most rolled, but everyone in my party is insanely perceptive... so...)

I'm also not really interested in dealing with a mount. I know they can be super awesome!! I'm weird...

Anywho, any help appreciated :)

I'm really having trouble understanding the False Ceiling in area E5 of the Vault of Hidden Wisdom.

For some reason my brain cannot wrap itself around how this works mechanically... Where exactly is the ceiling? Is it just over the part with the pillars and gates? Where do the Lynxes fall? Into the caged part? Does the ceiling only break if you're inside that part? How do you avoid the falling rocks if it is? What is the ceiling like outside the pillar/gate area? Is it the same as everywhere else? How does the ceiling hold in the rocks and lynxes? Is it convex or concave?

I'm just really struggling with how to describe this to my party and they already hate this book so much that I just am not sure what to do.

Thanks!

Some posts in here confirmed my worry that the position of the Observatory would make it too easy to find once the group repairs the compass.

I'm sure you're already past this book since it's been over a year LOL! Just in case anyone else comes across this forum post in the future I wanted to add my notes in how to handle this. Since the easiest place for the party to come up is right next to this compass and they repair it, instead of having it be a pointer that points right at the observatory, I made it a lighthouse type light that shines in the general direction. That way it encompasses many of the other sites including the cenotaph of the cynic and a few other compass sites, the party has completed all "side" missions. Now that they're done, I've left a hint for them at their last site to investigate the Observatory :)

Hi everyone!

I'm playing in the Reign of Winter campaign and thought it would be fun to have my assassin taught by the Masked Marquis. Only problem is the only reference to this character I could find was as part of this adventure path and I can't find any info on who this actually is. Does the Masked Marquis become unmasked as part of this adventure path? If so, who is it?

Thanks in advance!!

Okay so most other ways to increase an alchemist's bomb damage only increase the direct hit damage, not the splash damage. I have been unable to locate a ruling on if the Favored Class option increases splash damage or not. So far we've been ruling that it does affect splash damage but I'm wondering if we're doing it wrong.

So the question is, does the favored class bonus for Tiefling/Orc alchemists affect splash damage or only direct hit damage?

So, I'm sitting here, bored out of my mind, trying to come up with some cool designs for my characters clothing. And I got to thinking... what the heck is my characters clothing made out of?!? So I did some searching on the forums and the wiki and... guess what? No one has posted a thing about the RP side of this world. Sure there's like trade routes and what race is most likely to be found where and what the landscape looks like but there is very little I could find on what kind of other stuff is in there. What kind of cloth? Dye? Herbs? Meals? Wild life? Books? Architecture? Anyone have a good resource for this kind of stuff found in the Pathfinder Society World?
