I would say casting at either would allow for dispelling as the magical effect would exist on both the original body and the shadow. Just my opinion.

It's tricky, don't want to nerf the player who loves it but, it's unclear to me how it would work.

Could the shadow form pass through an anti-magic field?

Yes to all.

Thanks, rushing through the rules at my last game I somehow failed to spot these rules under magic.

I have just managed to find them for myself.

Can a Sorcerer use higher level spell slots to cast lower level spells?

Can he choose to use a second level spell slot to cast a first level spell?

If his CHA isn't high enough to cast say 3rd level spells could he use the 3rd level slots to cast spells of a level his CHA is high enough to allow him cast?

From a non-RAW standpoint...
This came up in a game I was in, and we used the same rules for detects as far as what would stop the effect, so much wood, so much stone, etc.
I think though you could safely rule that cloth/canvas only granted soft cover, and thereby the channeling effect bypasses it.

Good idea.

Thanks

Thanks, I read those before posting. I guess that by RAW a burst couldn't affect someone through a tent.

I just wonder if some materials are not sturdy enough to block some spell effects.

I recently had a combat take place inside a tent.

An evil cleric in the tent used Channel Negative Energy.

I ruled it affected everyone outside the tent as well, should the tent have blocked line of effect.

Or is the power of an evil god stronger than a sheet of canvas?

If monstrous strength is also part of the problem there is always Ray of Enfeeblement.

Losing even a few points makes a big difference to damage on two handed weapons.

I would also like to know how he has a x4 weapon that crits on a 17-20.

Granted this is a 20th level thing, but a 20th level weapon master Fighter can have a 15-20/x4 weapon a few times per day...

3 times a day at 19th level isn't really the same thing as all the time though.

Much like the rest of us.

Tell me about it. :D

Would it be reasonable say completely devouring one medium sized object allows the slime to grow by 5 feet.

I am having a 20 foot pit filled 10 feet deep with green slime used to dispose of people and leaving no trace behind.

Presumably every time they feed a few people to the slime a burst of freeze ray or burning hands would suffice to shrink the slime back so it didn't spill over.

At 8th level a Cleric with the Death Domain can heal himself with his negative energy burst.

Green slime converts flesh (or whatever it eats) into more green slime. This isn't acid damage. It's Constitution damage, basically—it represents a physical loss of structure akin to lopping off a hand or a foot or whatever part of the body the slime eats. Acid resistance/immunity doesn't help.

Thanks, any guidelines on how much it need to consume to reproduce?

I realize it's untyped con damage but in my mind I always imagined it as super strong acid that eats away at you.

Having it increase in size if it does a few points of damage seems excessive but Brown Mold doubles in size very quickly.

It's nasty stuff anyway.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It must be acidic going by the description, but it does con damage not acid damage.

Do you think Energy Resistance Acid should protect against it?

I am about to use it in my next game and will probably allow it.

"Preferences", under "Page Display". It sounds like you want a single page to span the whole width of the window by default, so you should set "Page Layout" to 'single page' and 'Zoom' to 'Fit Width'.

Genius it works, I feel like a fool, but a happy fool.

Thanks.

I know the pdf's have top be secure but not being able to re-save them is very annoying.

Now this might sound petty, but the default zoom factor for the pdf's is 70% and I would have thought a zoom of screen width would make more sense, it's what I always use.

You can change it once you open it but you can't save the setting and if you are using the links in the individual chapter versions of the pdf's it obviously resets when you click on a link.

Is there no way the default width's of the pdf's can be changed or am I the only one that this annoys.

Apart from this one thing I love the pdf's they have completely changed my gaming for the better.

I am currently heading towards the end of my 3.5 Realms campaign and am busy trying to build a set of house rules using RQII to start a new campaign using the Forgotten Realms setting.

Can a subscription be backdated?

If I subscribe does the subscription start with Pathfinder #9 or #1?

Edit: OK forget that, I see the answer

I shall then for the time being Relax and enjoy my shoes.

Hi I placed this order on March 10, 2008.

I still haven't received my dice.

I live in the UK, should I have received them by now?

Thanks.

No problem.

I am glad it was so easy to sort out.

Thanks.

Hi,

I ordered the following recently

Order #842056
Dungeons & Dragons: 3.5 Dungeon Master's Screen
Dungeons & Dragons: Three-Dragon Ante

Order #847809
Dragon: Monster Ecologies
GameMastery Encounter: Dark Elf Sanctum (OGL) Adventure Only

Both were shipped on the 5th of December and I had a note telling me they were shipped which looked like the two orders had been bundled together.

I received the first order with Three Dragon Ante and my DM's screen a week ago.

On the delivery box it was marked 1 game and three books however their was only one book in the box and I still haven't received the second order.

Should I be worried they were never sent?

Thanks for any help.
