I'm still around. I'll level up Phedre once I get my laptop with herolab back. Hope you guys had a good weekend!

"Good point." Phedre replies as she begins observing the room for any auras of evil.

"You will not escape!" Phedre shouts as she attacks the real demon.
attack: 1d20 + 7 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 7 + 3 + 1 = 12
damage: 1d8 + 2 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 2 + 6 + 1 = 10

Phedre continues to strike the orb with determination. "Almost have it..."

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 11
Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14

"What are you talking about?!" Phedre asks, wondering if Pashitel somehow managed to influence her friend.

"Now is not the time for doubts. Let's destroy this foul creature and continue on our way."

Will: 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 5 = 30
Steeling her mind, she answers Andrei,
"Kill it, and be done with it quickly."

"I, Phedre Runario, disturb your rest and meditation. Prepare to be banished from this realm, demon!" She threatens Pashitel as she circles around to flank the creature.

"Iomedae, I call upon your blessings to aid in delivering this demon back to the abyss." Swift action to activate Smite Evil

Phedre's eyes flash as she searches the room for the taint of evil. Sword drawn, she prepares to smite the demon. "I'm ready. May the glory of Iomedae bless us for this battle."

Phedre thanks the priest in Celestial and nods in agreement with the others. "I'm ready." She answers simply.

Frowning after the priest's disappearance, she speaks. "I don't think the priest will be able to help us physically in this fight. I feel like once the demon is slain the priest will have no further purpose in this world and will return to Iomedae's side." She sighs with a touch of melancholy.
Hopefully he will share some wisdom before he departs... she prays.

Will: 1d20 + 6 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 4 + 1 = 21

Phedre smirks at Andrei's last remark. "I may have to hurt you if you'd rather believe that then."

As the flames begin reaching up to engulf him, Phedre reaches out to him. "Come now, Andrei, don't give in to the flames."

Will: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 3 = 27

"Do you see a path out of here?" Phedre asks Anwel quietly.

Phedre joins hands with her companions and steps through the flames as well. "To the other side."

Will: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27

Spoiler:

"You are the one who has gone mad." Phedre interposes herself between the armed man and her father. "I don't need power, Litinius, I have faith."

Will: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12 Another 4! These dice rollers don't like me right now.

DM Tareth:

Mustering all the authority that she could force into her voice, she bellows out a single command to the three guards.
"HALT!" Standing up she faces Litinius. "I demand a Trial by Combat. If you want to get rid of us so badly, then stop being a coward and settle this right now. Guards, you shall provide witness. When I win, you will release my father."

Will save: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 2 = 12

Spoiler:

Phedre slowly seats herself. "Thank you, Litinius." Is all she could manage to say. This is just a dream, just a dream, just a dream... she repeats to herself mentally. Seeing her father like this caught her off guard, and being married to this pompous lordling... Never! she reminded herself. But if this is Iomedae's will...

Phedre pushes aside that line of thought and listens to the conversation at hand. She observes her surroundings closely, looking for anything that could be used for self defense if the need arose.

Phedre stops before the door and reads the text in silence. After a quiet pray to the Inheritor she steps inside.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 14

Watching her friends drink and depart to confront their challenges brings a smile to Phedre's face. Turning to face the elder, she asks "May we speak with you after we have passed our trials? There is so much that I would like to know. Stories of the past, how you came to be here, teachings of Iomedae that may have been lost to time. Please?"

Hey! I finally made it back from our training expedition. It's late though so I will try to get a post in tomorrow morning. I apologize again for the long absence.

Phedre frowns at the guardian's response.
"We may not be able to slay this demon..." Phedre says softly to herself as she began to fidget for a minute. Phedre knew that there were evil beings too powerful in this world for her to put an end to but having one so close was getting under her skin.
"Alright, let's go. If we can't kill it now, we'll find a way to later."

Back to training, I may be out of touch for 2-4 weeks. I'll post when I can but feel free to NPC as necessary.

My apologies, I must have overlooked that so I thought it might have been someone else attempting to free Pashtiel.

"That could be true, Andrei."

Celestial:
"My friend is walking the path towards redemption. Is there anything you can tell us that may aid us in destroying this creature?"

"I don't see you as someone who is tainted. Besides, did you speak any Celestial in their presence?" Phedre rebuffs Anwel, glaring at him for a split second.

Celestial:
"If this Eater of Minds is the one known as Pashtiel, then we've come to destroy this abomination. It caught a few of us in an enchantment yesterday when we began exploring this mine and attacked one of our own in some sort of dream world."

Though she dislikes the knight tightening it's grip, she sheathes her sword for the moment and quickly translates her conversation with the others.
More Celestial:
"Could you please restate your words from earlier? And who is this tainted one you speak of?"

Celestial:
"It has been many years since your - our - language has been spoken. Can we speak in this tongue please?"

She lowers her stance as well, trying to lessen the hostility.

Knowledge Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Phedre holds her advance to study the ancient knights.
"If what you are saying is true..." She pulls out her own holy symbol and speaks to the guardians. "If you recognize this symbol, could you let us pass?"

"No need to ask me twice." Phedre replies in a low growl. She makes a few warm up twirls with her longsword and begins chanting a brief prayer.

I apologize for the last minute notice but I've just been assigned to go on a 60 day long field op and leaving tomorrow. Feel free to npc Phedre as necessary and I'll post whenever I'm able to.

"It appears so. It's one powerful illusion though. I felt a strange kind of presence in my head leave when I saw through it. Shall we continue down this way?" She asks Warren, preparing to take point again with him again.

Will: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

Phedre shakes her head a moment to clear the vision from her head. Did I truly see nothing? she wonders.

"Friends, I don't believe what we are seeing is true." She swings her blade in a very slow arc to see if there is any reaction to her attack. "Hold your fire for a moment, Kallista."

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to everyone! Hope you all are doing well.

Happy holidays everyone!

Moving towards the front, Phedre falls into a reactive stance and prepares to strike out at any foes who attempt to get around her. Light on her feet, she's ready to dodge the first enemy that attempts to strike out at her. "Here they come!" she warns her allies.

Attacks of Opportunity if needed:

Attack 1: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Attack 2: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Attack 3: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18 Damage: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Can Phedre ready an attack for the first creature to attack her and still make attacks of opportunity against enemies that provoke? Also designate that enemy for the +1 dodge bonus (AC 18)

Phedre quickly catches up and peers down both tunnels.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 19
"See anything?" she quietly asks Warren.

"Kallista! Wake up!" Phedre tries to snap her friend out of slumber, slapping her face and pinching her repeatedly.

"I'll grab Kallista!" Phedre says as she watches the two fall under the spell. Before anyone can stop her she heads back and hefts the other woman up. Looping Kallista's arm over her shoulders, she slowly makes her way back to the others.

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (18) + 6 = 24 if needed

Will save: 1d20 + 6 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 6 + 1 = 18

Phedre lights a torch and draws her sword. "Ready? Let's go then."
She takes the lead down the tunnel, her mind fighting off the enchantment. Once she feels that she's pass the coldness she continues a dozen feet or so before waiting for her comrades to finish crossing.

"Let me look again, in case it's moved." Phedre focuses herself and observes for any more traces of the evil aura.

Detect Evil on the surrounding area

"That sounds like a wise plan, but what if there is no far edge? Would you still be able to make it back to us?" Phedre asks, concern for her companion's safety evident.

I've been backed up with work the past week or two since taking over my new position. I'll be away for a long training op for the next six weeks. Not sure if I'll be able to post from my phone while I'm out or not so I may be quiet for a while. Sorry =/

"Whether they were evil or not in life, we should give the dead a proper sending."

Knowledge: Religion: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 To remember anything on how kobolds treat their dead…

"Does anyone have a shovel or shall we build a pyre?"

"Interesting..." Phedre says as she peers at the distant shine. "Shall we go examine it?" she asks cheerfully despite the dreary weather.

Attack: 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 7 + 1 = 22
Damage: 1d8 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 2 + 1 = 7

With practiced ease Phedre follows up her first attack with an even sharper strike.

Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

"Warren!" Phedre cries out as the insect attacks. She draws her sword and steps into Warren's place as he steps back and fends it off with a quick strike of her longsword. "Get back Warren, I'll heal you up as soon as we get rid of this pest."

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 12

Phedre looks around the area before getting closer to examine the corpse. "Does it look like a human or an animal got it? It could be bait..." she adds, hoping silently that she could take her earlier frustration out on a different foe.

Phedre notices the effects that Anwel points out. "I'm ready to fight whenever everyone else is. I appreciate the healing, Andrei."

She looks around carefully before putting away her sword. "Where do you think we should go to rest?"

Phedre positions herself in between the oncoming noise and her friends. Sword drawn, she attempts to see if it also has an aura of evil. "Is everyone ready in case this thing wants to fight?"

Going on a boat trip today. I should be back to posting regularly tomorrow. Sorry for any inconvience.

Dream:
Phedre takes one last look at the heraldry, memorizing it's symbols and colors so she can discover it's meaning later. Scowling at the creature, she calls out to it, "I will find you again Pashitel, and with Iomedae's blessing you will be destroyed."
Phedre then forces herself awake.

Waking up with start, Phedre wonders why she seems to be floating off the ground before she realizes she's being carried. "Kallista, you may put me down now. I'm awake."

@DM- can I delay waking up until Vrag does or will I have to re-roll my save?
@Anwel- Phedre wears studded leather, don't tell her you think she's too heavy ;-)

Feeling herself stirring back to conciousness, Phedre yells to Vrag. "Vrag, you need to wake up! We're in a dream but she can probably still hurt us."
She jumps back, preparing to dodge the evil woman's touch.

Using the full defense action and Dodge feat against Pashitel.

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24

"Just how long have you been here? And where is here exactly?" She looks at Andrei as he prepares to depart. "I'll stay a little longer. Let the others know the faint essence of evil was coming from the farther hallway. I don't think I warned them in time." Turning her attention back to her host, she gently grasps the silverware. "Before I join you in this lavish meal, may I ask you to tolerate a quick test? My goddess would be upset if I were to consort with the wrong type of people."

Assuming Pashitel does not object, Phedre casts Detect Evil. If she does then Will save: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 2 = 15 to escape

"Is there a reason in particular that you invited us here?" Phedre asks politely as she takes a seat beside Andrei. She also does not eat just yet.

Knowledge (Nobility): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
Knowledge (Religion): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Will save: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 2 = 10

Andrei, Kallista, Phedre:

"We are honored by your invitation, Pasithel." Phedre says as she observes the heraldry and glancing at her companions. Gesturing to the seats, she asks sweetly, "How many guests were you expecting?"

Will save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

"There's a hint of evil from that direc..." Phedre staggers to the ground and falls asleep. Assuming it's the same effect as what got Vrag. If it's different I'll revise.

"If it was natural... I don't see why anyone would freeze rats for food and then leave them scattered around the place." Phedre's eyes flash silver as she begins searching the room for any malevolence in the area.
