Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Simple and martial weapons, light, medium, and heavy armor, shields.

Saving Throws: Wisdom and Charisma

Paladin 1
Divine Sense: The presence of strong evil registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and powerful good rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or Undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the Vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the Hallow spell.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a Long Rest, you regain all expended uses.

Lay on Hands: Your blessed touch can heal wounds. You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you take a long rest. With that pool, you can restore a total number of hit points equal to your paladin level x 5.
As an action, you can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool.
Alternatively, you can expend 5 hit points from your pool of Healing to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. You can cure multiple diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of Lay on Hands, expending hit points separately for each one.
This feature has no effect on undead and constructs.

Backstory
--------------------

Description: Perette is a tall woman of Mairenan heritage, with powerfully corded muscle honed through years of hard labor as a squire. Her hair is an unremarkable brown and straight, chopped short for ease of battle. She is neither lithe nor willowy, nor is she particularly curvy; she has a lean, powerful build. Her complexion is clear and fair, and she has a narrow, straight nose that has miraculously never been broken. Her brown eyes are expressive and seated beneath thin eyebrows and over a well-shaped mouth that is often pressed into a slight frown or an expression of effort.
When preparing for battle she wears the heavy mail hauberk and chausses common to knights of her station and bears a sword and a shield with a heraldic device. She protects her head with an open-face helm and has a leather quiver of javelins at her hip. Outside of combat she favors the long dresses of Mairena, with slipper-like shoes, soft colors with silver trim, and long draping sleeves, and covers her hair with a simple kerchief.

Hair: Brown, short
Eyes: Brown
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 162 lbs.

Background: Perette was raised as a courtier of Mairena, with a variety of privileges due to her aristocratic background. Though not a noblewoman, she was part of the circles of bureaucracy and the state, and she had the opportunity of a sterling education.
Perette rarely had free time; she had two elder brothers, so there was no worry about inheritance of the family position and heritage. This afforded her some leeway in her choice of activities, and she eagerly adopted the religious teachings of the scholastic priests, but also insisted in indulging in a bit of swordplay. Her exasperated parents considered it amusing; so long as she completed her education and didn't become so unladylike as to be unmarriageable, they would tolerate it.
By adulthood she had turned into a formidable warrior. Still, despite her passions and her deep commitment to a religious vocation, she chose to respect the wishes of her parents. In a surprise turn of events, her parents gave her their blessing to take up arms and serve as a squire.
She served faithfully under an elderly retired knight named Édouard Chatillon, who treated her well but also trained her rigorously. Having discharged her obligations, she was knighted and helped to serve as the advance line of Mairena.

Personality Traits: Perette has a powerful personality. Though she does not cultivate her appearance, she is an inspiring speaker, and watching her in action is equally striking. She is quick to commit to the cause of justice and to speak out against unfairness or oppression, but she never acts without an idea of how her action will start a series of events that can lead to a good result. She does not care about people with sexist attitudes; she sees her actions as speaking for herself.
