My solarian player and I were discussing how shield block and nimbus ward would interact. While nimbus block says your solar nimbus bolsters your shield, I’m not sure the resistances granted would protect the shield and solarian or just the solarian.

That thread would indicate the shield is not offered additional protection at all (or that the resistances aren’t granted until after they would effect damage dealt, since they are triggered by the shield block itself). It feels a little off like that isn’t the RAI for nimbus block, but that might just be personal bias on my part.

My player and I wanted to see if anyone had other thoughts or knew a ruling we’re unaware of.

You're doing universalist wrong.

Entirely wrong.

For example - You're human - Take the ancestral feat that gives you an additional class feat at 1st level.

You now have two class feats at 1st level

Use two of those feats to pick up two elemental feats.. any elemental feats of your choice at 1st level and the 3rd one? You can choose a different one once per day.

So you should have a total of 3 feats as a human as a possibility.

If the proposed solution is to play a single ancestry out of the so very many that we have available, it seems more like an admission there is a problem than a fix to it.

OP's GM here, the issue popped up because we were playing a prewritten adventure with a long investigation sequence in the beginning, and a few combats in mostly tight spaces. the Universalist had Tremor prepared but kept wishing they had picked Tremorsense instead. the first chance to prepare again is probably a session or longer away, so won't even be before the playtest is over.

I think perhaps building in a 10 minute level 1 impluse swap to the universalist at level one wouldn't be game breaking but the one action or 3 action suggestions would be. This would even be complementary with Rapid Reattunment because unlike omnikinesis it doesn't call out the universal gate impluse feat as one that can be swapped with the feat. ( a choice that might likely be an oversight, but hard to say )

Thank you Joan. Additional question though, since this was the first product of my fourth sub I expected a prompt somewhere for which society PDFs I wanted but have not seen that anywhere. If all I need to do is mention it here then I’m interested in the pathfinder ones

has been stuck at pending for several weeks now, as far as I know no issues with billing or availability of product, just not shipping for some reason.

So does that mean that a level 1 human monk with the Ki strike and Ki Rush feats will start with a focus pool of 2, or does that not qualify for the sidebar on page 302 because they are technically the same source? the example uses an archetype but doesn't explicitly call it out as required for this. Asking because our monk has ended a few fights on round 1 by level 2 with just the one focus point. I know he will want ki rush if it gives him another, he's been hunting paths to more focus points.

Yeah under the Rulebook category is all my starfinder stuff. I should have my physical copies tomorrow or the next day so I suppose I shouldn’t be too bothered but I was curious if anyone else had had a similar issue this is the first time I’ve ever subbed at all.

Just everything I had purchased prior to subbing to the Rulebook line, nothing else.

I subbed to the new rulebook line and my books have shipped, but I don't seem to have access to the PDFs. Has anyone else been having this issue?

(I did post on the CS forum but I think they're out till monday or tuesday due to Gen-Con, and was hoping for some form of feedback before then)

I got the PF2 rulebook subscription and it has shipped to me though I haven't received the copies yet, but I don't seem to have the PDFs available in my digital content yet.

Was poking around the sheet again and found the defensive countermeasures are doing the same thing essentially for the same reasons. Just need to fix the formulas on the build sheet this time though.

ok yep, working from memory wasn't too accurate so here's a second go. I have the sheet to look at now.
on the Ship Frames tab (this is hidden so you'll need to find it under View --> Hidden Sheets --> Ship Frames) there is a table for all the frame details.

Cell N1 has this formula

=iferror(index(N2:N,match(Frame,FrameChoice,0)))

Change it to

=iferror(index(N2:N,match(Frame,FrameChoice,0)-1))

and then make a similar change to the cells in O1, P1, Q1, S1, T1, etc..
I just copy pasted after the first cell the N2:N should be relative and change for each new column. just don't copy into cells like R1 that read Weapons(Location) those need to stay the same.
This worked for what I was trying to do and I don't think it breaks anything else in the sheet, though Nikela is the man who would know for sure.

Once again thanks to Nikela for the great work on this thing and I learned a couple new tricks for Sheets trying to reverse engineer and find the problem so thanks for that as well :)

On the ship frames sheet there’s a formula that looks like =iserror(index(Namedrange,match(range, framechoice))) or close to it I’m working off memory here. Make it (and the other 19 copies in the top row the same but put a -1 after the match function the first range starts at row 1 but the second starts at row 2 so the whole th gets offset by one. Should get something that looks like =iserror(index(namedrange,match(range,framechoice)-1)) there are a couple other options like changing the namedrange to start at row 2 instead of row 1 but didn’t know what else that might break so sticking the -1 in those formula on the top row seemed the more targeted solution

Love the sheet! I did notice a problem. It’s grabing the weapon mounts from the next frame down the table from the frame chosen. I did quick fix on my copy, but don’t know if that might mess something else up yet.
