In a recent game in one of the encounters in an AP I changed the encounter from the party needing to kill the creature to freeing it. As it could have been a TPK or close to it. What they encountered was bound by a Plansr Binding and it was either they defeat or defeated by it.

No option given to free it or at least written in the AP , the particular creature used hated the NPC that bound it and before combat is very helpful and an alignment opposed by the binder.

So I created on the spot puzzle for them to use and free it. Anyone else do the same.

While I enjoy PF 1E I am interested in buying into 2E. What are the pros and cons of the new edition? Note this is not a bash either edition thread. Only one to inform of 2E.

Creation Rules:
20 point build, Background Skills, 10th level, start with normal WBL (https://www.d20pfsrd.com/skills/background-skills/), 1 campaign trait, 2 normal traits and a drawback may be taken for another trait. Campaign trait may be modified (fluff or actual trait) depending appropriateness to the character’s origin. You will need to discuss this with the GM. Must be willing to trend heroic.

What modules can anyone here recommend once the players finish the Dragons Demand? Not planning to use APs just modules. Any that would have a Dragon theme which could tie in easily to the initial module.

Recently a group am I am in all died playing one of PF Aps due to magic wielding BBEG npc killing of the group. It was combination of the DM properly running the npc and an ambush. The encounter soured my DM so much so that he thinks of disallowing any martial pcs except for Ranger and Rogue and allowing only Arcane and Divine pcs in the next reboot with a new AP.

My question is how does PF 2W handle the linear progression of martials and quadaratic progression of casters that PF !e imo suffers from. Is it better, worse of the same? Note the group is not a bunch of new players. We used our characters abilites to the fullest so it was not due to player issues
