Well...darn.

Okay then.

We agreed that we've worked together in the past, and were recruited individually for this particular mission we just "completes" (a datasteal).

So far, the dynamic has proven quite team-oriented, with stealth, surveillance, and intelligence leading our decisions.

A heavy weapons guy would prove quite appropriate, seeing as how that's exactly what we are missing.

We are in Seattle, yes, and current events have us running around in V's Ares Roadmaster.

Hey Bilbo, check your inbox

"So, anyone we want to discredit with this 'stick? Got any exes or similar folk who need a burnin' with these Raven goons?"

I thought they decided we flipped on them and were gunning for us.

Yes, grabbed the chip from the dead decker's gear, before looting and running.

See Recruitment Thread Here. Perhaps the GM would like to link it to this campaign?

We are currently without a weapons specialist/close quarters battle person in our Shadowrun 5ed crew.

If you are interested in playing with an Irish Demolitions Mage, an elven Face Adept, and a human Rigger, slide on over to the Discussion Thread located here .

We just made it through our "first run" together, and made it out without too much trouble.

Hope to see some of you there, chummers!

"Lets motor. Got the goods, time to make with the egress!"

Once at the van Paddy slides the cases in and chambers up.

Excellent. One in each hand then. Holstering the manhunter to free up a hand.

Box? As in carrying case? If so, grab one in each hand. Do I understand correctly, each case holds an assault rifle, light pistol, and bolt rifle, alo ng with 2 AR mags and 3 LP mags?

Paddy grabs a Colt rifle and as many magazines as he can secure rapidly.

"I'm thinking violence may not be our best option at this point. If the Dragon team is gunning the for PMCs, and the PMCs are looking for us, why not point them towarss one another, grab what we can out of the till, and beat feet? We got our primary objective, now we have to survive getting out with our skin intact."

Distance is not too much of a concern. Magic Fingers is a LoS spell...just wanna drag him into the building if possible. If that's infeasible no worries.

"Let me get this straight. Wiz-boy, the rigger, and our two shooters are this Dragon, Raven Wing PMC boys are the Raven, and the Street Dogs are us, right? And the PMC dudes think we flipped and opened fire on them? That was their sniper who got smoked, right? If so, I'm gonna grab his gear, and let's meet these Dragons. They sound more like our type anyways. Better plan might be to grab the downed Raven, snag his gear, then hit that vault north of here before scramming."

Paddy moves to the side of the buolding where the Raven got shot and looks for a window or doorway from which he can retrieve the guy.

"Just wait til you see what my 'grenade launcher' looks like, V. I think you're going to be surprised."

7d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 3, 2, 3, 1, 3) = 17 stealth (0 hits, still invisible)

"Arm? Yeah, I guess you could say that my 'arm' is good. I just need a LoS and open area to get the shot off."

"Well, I do happen to be carrying these nifty neuro-stun delivery grenades. They are non-lethal, for the most part. Of course, if they're wearing chem-sealed suits like ours, they'll be useless."

Paddy ponders the setup as it appears for the moment.

"Wiz-boy is probably scanning astrally. At least, I would be in his position. Sniper has the alley covered damn well, and they have some kind of drone setup with that rigger. Maybe we sneak into the room underneath them and take the floor out? I have some explosives and can easily enough fashion a cutting charge to drop them down."

<Shade, can you see where they dropped that PMC guy in the alley? Any doors or windows where I might be able to spot his rifle or pack? Preferably perpendicular to the sniper's nest itself?>

"With or without neuro-stun party favors?"

<Can we get a message to the shooter's team? Perhaps we can arrange a short term agreement with their organization. No sense getting smoked by a third party when these PMC boys set us up.>

4d6 ⇒ (3, 4, 5, 6) = 18 sneak (polymer) 2 hits, still invisible

"They sell, and even better, they shoot!"

Paddy follows V as stealthily as he can.

3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 3) = 6 sneak (0 hits)

"Roger. I recommend we hit the armory/vault while they're distracted."

<Roger that. Primary mission is still the chip.>

"V, grab the stuff and let's move. I'll cover you."

Paddy follows, sustaining his invisibility and pistol in hand.

Padraig makes a few mystical gestures and mumbles some words before vanishing from sight and following V into the complex, stealthily as possible.

12d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 6, 4, 2, 1, 6, 3, 3, 2, 4, 2) = 42 Spellcasting 3 hits, casting Force 4 Improved Invisibility Spell. Resist 3 Drain: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 5, 1, 2, 3, 5, 4, 6, 3) = 34 3 hits: no drain suffered.

[ooc]Anyone in position to spot me via eyes, whether thermograpic, low-light, or other visible spectrum means, must overcome spell threshold of 3 before rolling their perception.

4d6 ⇒ (1, 3, 3, 1) = 8 stealth: no hits.

"Sounds good, V. I have my little friend to watch our backs as well, and the chemical protection will help greatly when I employ some of my toys here." Paddy pats the grenades hooked onto his load vest.

"With luck, they'll put our friends in la-la land without having to fire a shot. Plus, I have a few more...direct...means to deal with threats if it comes to that."

Paddy checks his pistol and settles his goggles on his head, ready to drop them in place.

"Ah, excellent. I agree, let us get on with our mission, and hope this Raven Wing team does not betray us in some fashion."

Paddy snorts before pulling on the helmet and securing the seals.

"As if that's NOT gonna happen, right?"

"Oh heck yeah. Not to worry, V...I want to get my hands on on that rifle and settle behind it. Are these things chem sealed?"

Paddy strips out of him armor and load vest, buckling on the provided combat armor.

"Interesting. And what of his rifle ans ammunition? Those may prove useful to us in our interdiction efforts. "

"So, do you happen to know where this sniper may be located? We had intel they had one, but nothing on the location."

"Extra nuyen is always appreciated. You need a safe cracked, eh?"

<Uh, so, wanna say hello V? Or do I prep a little claymore action for when we open the door?>

"Okay...a milspec strike team beat us here, and have serious overwatch and drone support rocking already. Perhaps a modification of our plan is in order."

"Go, little watcher. Scan the area and find metahumans. Also look for any spirits or astral barriers, then return."

Watcher spirit and eye-bot I believe

"You've been watching too many trids. You don't use fire fuses anymore. Hell, I doubt anyone's used one for like a hundred years."

"Hair gel? Thats silly. If and when I need to style up these luscious locks, I'll use mousse!"

"I'm good. Unless you happened to have an extra assault rifle or combat shotgun laying around? " Paddy grins as he wonders if Verve could pull just such an item at no notice.

"Vroom, vroom. Lets get to the boom-boom time!"

"Might've been, at that. All I remember is a wicked headache and a taste in my mouth like I chewed on the bottom of a taxi."

"Sorry to disappoint, but the spirit gave me the old frag off. Left me with a headache like I hit the ork beer again, but no help for me. The little guy, the watcher, he doesnt even have a body to smack."

"We all set boys?"

He gently elbows Bulletcatcher, "Getting anxious to go punch someone, big guy?"

With that first ritual out of the way, Paddy takes a bit of a break. As he stands you may notice the golden sheen drop away from the circle, and the barely felt pressure in the room returns to normal.

"Well, that worked very well. A little watcher spirit to give us some eyes and ears. Now I am gonna conjure up a more potent spirit, which should help give us some concealment and assistance on our way into the scrap yard. Just a few more minutes, lads!"

Paddy takes a couple of gulps of water before returning to his circle, gathering ingredients in a faster, less ritualistic fashion. He sits down in the center, murmuring an incantation to the spirit of air he calls to assist him.

Crunch:

Spoiler:
Using 7 drams of reagents to summon a force 3 Air elemental. Summoning Test: Conjuring + Magic [7] 9d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 5, 6, 1, 2, 1, 2) = 30 vs Force*2 6d6 ⇒ (6, 5, 4, 6, 6, 5) = 32 No Net Hits, Summoning Fails. Drain Resistance Test: 10d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 6, 4, 6, 4, 6, 4, 5, 4) = 45 vs Drain 10 [dice]5 hits, leaving 5 stun damage

Paddy stands up decidedly woozy after that summoning, grabbing his head in obvious pain. "Ow. Jeez, now I remember why I don't play around with these things very much...Let me just grab my stuff and we can go."

Moving a bit gingerly, as if with a really bad hangover, Paddy assembles his running gear.
He wears his Lined Coat, strapping on the Ruger with 2 speedloaders and a box of loose shells in his pocket. In a small backpack, he adds: Fake Pistol License, Fake Mage License, Optical Binoculars, Flashlight, Gas Mask, and a canteen of water. He pulls a pair of heavy, enhanced goggles on (Smart Goggles (Rating 6, Smartlink, Image Link, Flare Compensation, Low-Light Vision, Thermographic Vision, Vision Magnification), while adding his Meta-Link commlink and micro transciever. Finally, he pulls a bandolier out of a case, with 4 HE grenades, 4 Frag grenades, 2 CS/Tear Gas grenades, and 2 Neuro-Stun IX grenades. He thinks for a minute, before placing a 1kg can of Foam Explosives and a pack of 6 detonator caps, all switched to "wireless off" mode.

Slipping a couple of Stim Patches in his pocket, he nods to the rest of the team.

"Okay, I'm ready to roll." All told, Paddy's gearing up, including the Watcher ritual and failed Summoning took about 10 minutes.

While they are in the car, Paddy places a call to one of his contacts, looking for a little intel.

Japanese: "Yorimoto-San, glad to speak with you again. I'm looking for some info on a new gang, calls themselves the Junkyard Boys, operating out of a scrap-yard in Puyallup. There might be some new product for you to distribute in the near future, as well. Let me know what you can, I appreciate it. Domo arigato."

Once back at Paddy's crash-pad.

"Okay boys, this is gonna take me a few minutes. Feel free to scarf the soy-dogs, and I think there may be a couple of beers left over in the fridge."

The apartment is pretty much a dump. The building should have been condemned long ago, and the neighborhood borders on a Barrens zone, battling up into simply "poor" by a hairsbreath. Inside, everything is neatly organized, with a small auto-kitchen, an old trid-set and a dilapidated pull out couch. Beyond the normal living area, though, is a much better kept and extremely well organized workspace.

Around the perimeter, old mis-matched shelves hold jars, boxes, and strange equipment, seemingly in equal parts chemical and magical. The walls show a relatively new coat of off-white paint, and the floor is immaculate, with a large pentacle drawn on the floor in chalk.

Paddy enters this back room laboratory and starts plucking items off the shelves, quietly humming to himself.

The red-haired mage lights candles, placing incense at the points of the pentacle, and re-scribes several of the chalk lines, ensuring the symbol is perfectly drawn. Once settled in, he places his street gear on a nearby workbench, taking his shoes and socks off and sliding them underneath. As he settles into the center pentagon of the pentacle, a subtle pressure washes the room, before a very faint golden glow surrounds the image and Paddy, forming a dome around the circle.

Crunch:

Spoiler:
Dropping Sustained Armor spell first. Casting Watcher Ritual, at Force 6, using 18 drams of reagents (6 to cast, 12 to seal). Ritual Spellcasting + Magic [6]: 12d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 3, 6, 5, 3, 4, 3, 4, 1, 2, 6) = 48 5 hits
vs. Force*2 12d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 3, 4, 3, 3, 2, 4, 3, 1, 3, 1) = 34 1 hit
Drain Resistance vs Drain 2: 10d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 6, 3, 3, 5, 6, 6, 1, 3) = 40 4 hits, no drain
Net Hits: 4, Watcher sticks around for 24 hours.

"Sure, that works. I can just toss my bike in that big old beast I guess."

"Sure, sounds good. Say, you got wheels? I'm pretty sure my rambled won't carry the both of us."

"Wow. And to think I travelled light to this meet. I'll just take my little scooter home, meet you guys at the Stuffer Shack in like 90 minutes? "

"I would like to swing through my doss, specifically to pick up some tactical gear. Not to mention, whip up some astral back-up if needed."

If that has rigger adaption thats pretty much perfect.
