@Ekaterina, can you double check you to see if your email is correct in the RPG chronicles and check your spam folder.

If still nothing, let me know and I can download and send it else where. Probably by google drive.

I apologize for the massive slow down at the end, but I did enjoy our fun in the frozen tundra.

You see the others just inside the cave and think the bear might have gone deeper into it. You can retrieve the others and avoid the bear.

You also believe that this cave system is the bear's home.

It does look like the majority does want to gather wounded and run. So we will move on.

The agents gather up the wounded and provide immediate healing for those who need it.

With the supplies leftover, you all manage to make a litter assist in carrying the more heavily wounded. The others, once healed can manage on their own.

A few more hours traveling, the PCs crest a small hill and spot the finish line.

Two tall, wooden linnorm statues mark the finish line to the harrowing Balgirdtrek. Crossing the line, the gathered crowd of spectators and participants cheers and applauds. Racers are met with blankets, soup, and medical supplies almost as soon as they are within the village of Frostgarten, where spectators are gathered to celebrate the competition and those who completed it.

Taking a moment to look around, the PC's notice that they are the first team to cross. Leif waiting on the other side to cement their position of second place.

As a reward for assisting the other team, the officials gift the PC's a scroll of snowball , which grants you access to the spell

Furthermore, since the PCs completed the race honorably, the Pathfinder Society is invited back next year to defend their title.

As one last formality, the winning team is tasked with helping to prepare the feast and medical supplies for the remaining racers. Once the last of the teams cross the finish line, the festivities begin.

A massive feast is prepared, and the winning team is given a place of honor at the banquet table.

The End

Primary Objective
If the PCs complete the Balgirdtrek without being caught cheating or interfering with the other teams progress they complete the primary objective of this scenario. Doing so earns each PC 2 Reputation for any faction associated with their currently slotted faction boon.

Secondary Objectives
Winning the Balgirdtrek grants the PCs the Tarnbreaker Champions boon on their Chronicle sheet and earns each PC 2 Reputation for any faction associated with their currently slotted faction boon.

Since you all got over 20 progress points, you all get 10 treasure bundles. Congrats

The bear digs its claws into Chislenits, taking 10 slashing damage, and throws him to the side. He lands 20 feet away.

The bear, taking enough damage runs back to its cave.

At this point, you reached the morale condition of the bear, you either can attempt to finish off the bear or gather the wounded and head towards the check point.

The Pathfinder Pro's are grateful for the clear weather, but exhaustion is definitely setting in as they move towards the last obstacle.

3 Success are good enough for 2 progress points

Among the tall drifts and dunes of snow and ice, a small hollow reveals signs of life. A large fire pit is encircled by tents and snow shelters as officials stand near the warmth of the blazing fire. Beyond the camp, a large sheet of exposed ice is marked by race banners. In the middle of the ice, a delicate ribbon lies partially frozen in the sheet.

The officials tell the teams that this trial recounts the tale of Balgird’s brave survival on the open ice. While camping in the tundra, Balgird lost some precious equipment to the wind in the night. The following morning, he followed a trail of gear to discover one of his scrolls frozen in the ice. With great care, he moved across the thin sheet to where his scroll lay trapped. Balgird created a lens from a piece of the ice itself, focusing the sunlight on the ice to slowly melt it away from his scroll until he was able to free it.

To make it out to the ribbon will take a Acrobatics check to balance. Once out to the ribbon, it will take a thievery or nature to remove the delicate ribbon. Creative ways of removing the ribbon could grant you circumstance bonus, while brutish ways may rip the ribbon.

Multiple PC's may attempt to gain additional progress points, but failing too many acrobatics checks per PC or destroying the ribbon could cost you.

4 success for the day of travel which grants you 2 more progress points.

Steam and spray from the Whitegold River hangs in the air as the checkpoint draws near. The wet air carries a cold sting. The snow on the trees drips, plopping heavily to the ground and the snow and frost seem to be clinging only in shadowed nooks and slick patches, despite the frigid air. Race officials prepare fish caught from the banks of the river near the camp. South of the campsite, another official stands near the riverbank. Several long poles lean against a mossy rock. Across the river, the course stretches away from the river and through the thinning trees into the snow-dusted hills beyond.

The wide river flows quickly as winter draws close, chunks of ice occasionally drift and crash among the rocks from further upstream.

The officials tell the PCs that this trial is particularly important to the Balgirdtrek. After spotting the tarn linnorm, Balgird gave chase to the beast. The linnorm slipped through the trees and made its way across the Whitegold River to evade Balgird. The rushing river was frigid and cold, and as Balgird approached he could see the tarn linnorm lurking in the trees on the other side, waiting to pluck his exhausted body from the shore if he swam across. Balgird felled a tall sapling from the riverside and vaulted across the river with as much of his gear as he could carry, foiling the linnorm and chasing it further into the wild.

You could aways swim across, but in this frigid weather, it may be a bad idea. The preferred method for crossing the river is to use the large poles on hand for the trial. Each fifteen-foot long pole has a small plate affixed to the base, just below the tip to prevent the pole from simply sinking into the mud of the river. The goal of the trial is for each member of the party to cross the river, preferably using the poles to vault across to the other side. A PC attempting to cross the river can attempt an Acrobatics or Athletics check to vault the river with the following results. If you fail, you sway back to the original side and may try again. If you critically fail, you lose your grip/balance and plunge into the river. Each PC MUST attempt this trial.

For our summoner Illnore, since PFS calls out that you can choose either you or you eidolon can make the check, Chiselnits can complete this challenge for you as well.

And since I've been slacking on Hero Points thus far, I will give one to Kaitlyn for her great skills during day 1. another hero point to Ekaterina for wooing the Bluetongue Brawlers and assisting on the Caribou challenge

Swayaah heads over and attempts to strike up a conversation with the Wyrding Wayfinders. Again, the older female speaks for the group, "We did well enough. still plenty of race to race." The Pathfinder team continues to get lucky as Avery spots yet another bell before spooking the deer. She lifts the bell sneakily off of the antlers of the one with the red nose.

Nice. All successes and critical successes. Maxed out with 3 progress points.

A small, frigid stream runs between the dense pines, opening onto a frozen pond. To the east, a few small columns of smoke rise above the trees from several small campfires. To the north, a dozen caribou walk along the surface of the ice, snuffling and pawing at the thin grasses poking up from the snowy shoreline. As a race official watches over the small herd, the wind carries the gentle sound of bells.

The official announces to the PCs that this trial is meant to recreate the events surrounding the loss of Balgird’s beloved pack horse. When the steed was lost in a terrible blizzard, Balgird tracked a herd of caribou across the tundra, and watched their behavior from a distance, looking for one that he might be able to tame. The legendary Ulfen spent more than a week trying to get close to the herd, and narrowly escaped death by hundreds of stampeding hooves before he finally managed to sling his saddle bags over the animal’s back and lead his new companion out of the herd and into the taiga.

There are a total of 12 caribou on the ice fields. Four of them have bells. You goal is to determine which caribou have the bells and then remove them from the antlers.

First a PC will need to attempt to find the bells with a perception check to seek.(you may roll them yourselves). A failure makes the following check harder.

Then, you must make either a Nature or Stealth check to approach the herd with out sending them running. A failure means another PC can attempt. A critical failure causes the herd to stampede and bars the PCs from attempting a gain.

Only one PC is required to attempt this event. Other PCs can attempt their own checks or aid, but not both. Technically, you roll your aid checks before any attempts are made. So if you would like to attempt to approach the caribou place you rolls in spoilers as to not influence aid checks. Aid checks can be made openly.

As the agents set off, snow begins to fall heavily.

Everyone needs to make an Athletics, Nature, or Survival check as they begin their travel on the first day. If you have applicable lore, you may try and use that with a good argument. If it relates to traveling or the terrain.

Ekaterina, Illnore, and Swayaah, this is where your +1 will come in handy

After you make the check, we will move on to the first obstacle.

The PCs make their way to the first checkpoint. The tall pines ahead are heavy with snow, and the forest is quiet. Ahead, officials for the Balgirdtrek stand around a roaring fire. Several campsites have been cleared nearby as clerics stand ready to examine and treat any injured racers. Beyond the fire and campsites, in a small, raised clearing, is a tall, thin pole carved with the intertwining necks of a Tarn Linnorm. Atop the pole rests is a small platform, an oval shape resting within it.

The pole is in fact a small tree, and though the tree itself is dead, it is still flexible and strongly rooted in the ground. The object at the top of the pole is an egg which each team must retrieve without breaking. The officials at the trial explain to each team that this trial hearkens back to Balgird’s time in the wilderness. While searching for a Linnorm in the frozen reaches of the Saga Lands, Balgird Bluetongue survived by living off the land itself. In particular, Balgird was known to have scaled a great tree and retrieved the egg of a massive bird. He did this so swiftly and carefully that the tree did not bend, and the bird did not notice its egg go missing.

Anyone who tests the tree finds that it is very flexible and bends at the climber's weight.

Anyone may attempt to climb the tree. It will take athletics to climb or acrobatics to balance. If anyone critically fails the team fails and can not take part in this mission anymore.

Illnore would have a +1 circumstance bonus to this check as well

Dreadfang delivers the ending blow to the mounted chain gun.

Out of Combat

Conclusion

Once the PCs ensure the caravan meets up with the Gorumites, their scouting duties are essentially completed. With the squad of Gorumites traveling with the caravan, nothing short of a small army would dare attack the wagons, and the Gorumites are familiar enough with the lands to avoid any real dangers.

If the PCs destroyed Synthetic Khismar (Robot Gnome), they scare off any Blue Streaks in the area. The caravan is able to make it to Starfall virtually unharried, with the exception of a pack of overly curious and somewhat vicious raccoons.

Primary Objective
The PCs fulfill their primary objective if they ensure the caravan meets up with the Gorumites within 10 days. This earns the PCs 2 Reputation with any faction associated with their currently slotted faction boon.

Success

Secondary Objective
The PCs fulfill their secondary objective if they defeat the Synthetic Khismar, but only after ensuring the caravan is safe with Baric the Bloodfist and the other Gorumites. Doing so earns each PC 2 Reputation for any faction associated with their currently slotted faction boon.

Success

Leif extends a thick gloved hand, "Nice to meet you"

"They are all bark, no bite. They know better to violate the rules of the race." Steen chimes in.

"Yeah we did win. Returning champs. We crossed the finish line on day three and stayed at an Inn that night. The next morning we went back the finish line to claim our victory." Leif says with a slight chuckle. He regains his composure before continuing. "No, the route is not always the same. Usually we begin in the wilderness and end near a town, to honor Balgrid's return to civilization. However, this time around we are beginning in town and heading out into the wilds."

"That is because the tradition makes it sound like the Varki are uncivilized." Unn chimes in. She crosses her arms, "The wilderness they refer to is in the Varki's territory and the return to civilization would be an Ulfen village."

Steen places his hand on his wife's leg, "No need to get fired up. Times are changing and the Varki are apart of this epic tradition."

"Six teams" Oluf answers, "The Pathfinders, the Varki team, and the four returning teams from the previous year."

A voice from the front of the sleigh interrupts the conversation, "We are approaching the starting area. What is your team name?" The sleigh driver asks the PC's. "May I suggest, Pathfinder Pups, Odds meet End, or Teeth Chattering Society" He says laughing to himself.

Once the PC's are ready, they head outside.

Two bright, open-topped sleighs wait along the side of the street, adorned with ribbons and cedar boughs. The driver of the second sleigh hops down, waving the group over. He instructs the team to move to the rear of the cart and assists with boarding. Inside, two groups sit, anxious for the sleighs to get moving. "We are taking part in this competition to accomplish two things. Learn more about the competition itself, the Balgirdtrek, and gain more information about the Ulfen and Varki cultures. Hopefully, bring them closer together towards a new era of peace."

"We do not know who else is competing at this time. You should meet some of the other competitors along the way."

He chuckles and answers Illnore's question, "Some Ulfen clans find us taking part in this race as a decline of tradition and do not like us for it. I doubt that they would be openly hostile towards you. Although minor brawls have occurred in the past between teams, nothing deadly I will add."

@Illnore, I think its okay for your eidolon to use mundane items, so go for it

GM:

Tieri the Tooth Faerie's Society (U): 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (20) + 0 = 20

Ekaterina Elvana's Society (T): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Swayaah Maeleranti's Society (T): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22

Tieri must have done some research before heading to the lodge.

Tieri recalls that two of the teams taking part are the Bluetounge Brawlers and the Wyrding Wayfinders. The brawlers are a group of four ulfen warriors who rely on brute force to surive. While the Wayfinders are led by an experienced Champion of Cayden Cailean.

He also recalls the story behind the Balgirdtrek

Spoiler:
Long ago, the Ulfen known as Balgird Bluetongue set out from Kalsgard, traveling deep into the forbidding tundra and muskeg of the Lands of the Linnorm Kings in search of fortune, honor, and the head of a linnorm. For two months, Balgird braved the elements, crossing craggy glaciers, defending himself against monstrous trolls, fording frozen rivers, and foraging for the barest meals until he found, tracked, and slew a mighty tarn linnorm and returned with its twin heads in tow.

Though Bluetongue himself was slain in Irrisen protecting the Djurstor Confederacy against Baba Yaga in 3313 AR, his body was not properly buried until it was recovered by Ulfen raiders two centuries later. Laid to rest in Kalsgard, the city held an overland race to commemorate the deeds of their fallen hero; and so, the Balgirdtrek was born.

The race has been held annually, drawing brave teams from Ulfen communities across the Lands of the Linnorm Kings. To win the Balgirdtrek is particularly noteworthy, but simply completing the race is considered a tremendous accomplishment.

Looks like hero points have been called out. Go ahead and claim your school items and we shall head out
