I'm thinking about being a more melee based character, now that it seems like a more feasible option, and it's more like my normal playstyle.

What are your opinions on the revelation that grants the wildshape-like ability?

I don't play casting classes too often, but I'd like to give the Oracle class a try, specifically the Lunar mystery from Blood of the Moon (I love the flavor of werebeasts, and have a bit of a fascination with the moon myself).

I'm given a 15 point buy for the character, and I'm not really sure what the most efficient use of ability score points would be, what feats I should take, or what spells I should take, since I usually play monks and fighters. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I'm working on a backup character for my DM's current campaign, and I was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on a good way to build a Wildshape heavy Druid. This is my concept so far (Off the top of my head, I haven't finished it yet):

Race: Half-Orc
Classes: Monk 1, Druid 4
Nonbonus feats: Sacred Vow, Vow of Poverty (DM permission granted)
Exalted bonus feats: Intuitive Attack

Ability scores (Racial and level 4 already added):
Str: 16
Dex: 18 (+1 from level 4)
Con: 18
Int: 17
Wis: 20 (+2 racial)
Cha: 15

I never really have played a caster-heavy class before (outside of a Planar Shepherd from a short-lived 3.5 campaign), so I'd like to stick to focusing more on wildshaping than anything else. I am not really sure what would be efficient, as far as archetypes, domains, and animal companions go.

Sorry for the double post, but my next meeting is in an hour, and I'd really like to know which archetype you think would benefit my character the most before my character build is set in stone. (Okay, I wasn't even TRYING to make a rock pun there. XD)

Are there any feats in particular you guys would recommend for his class bonuses and level-up feats? I'm pretty sure his Exalted feats need to be from BoED...

Okay, here's the build (let me know if there's anything that seems really out of place):

Character Sheet:

Name: Garruk
Race: Oread
Levels: Monk 2 (No archetype)
Alignment: Lawful Good

Str: 20/+5
Dex: 18/+4
Con: 16/+3
Int: 15/+2
Wis: 20/+5
Cha: 12/+1

HP: 22 (DM is giving us Max HP)
Speed: 20 ft/4 sq
Initiative: +4

AC: 21 (10)+(Dex 4)+(Nat 1)+(Def 1)+(Wis 5)
Touch: 20
Flatfooted: 17

Saves:
Fort: 6
Reflex: 7
Will: 8

BAB: 2
CMB: 7 (2+5+0)
CMD: 26 (2+5+4+0+10+5)

Weapon: Unarmed Strike
Attack Bonus: +7
Critical: x2
Type: Bludgeoning
Range: Melee
Damage: 1d6+5

Ranked skills:
Acrobatics: 9
Perception: 10
Sense Motive: 10
Stealth: 9 (This has become somewhat of a running joke, since I usually roll high stealth checks)
Survival: 11
Swim: 10 (Because this only makes sense!)

Feats: Stunning Fist, Improved Grapple, Sacred Vow (BoED), Dodge

Special Abilities:
Racial: Native Outsider, Slow Speed, Darkvision 60, Crystalline Form, Granite Skin, Treacherous Earth
Class: Flurry of Blows, Unarmed Strike, Evasion

Equipment (pre-Vow): Monk's Outfit, Cold Weather Outfit, Rations x30, Heavy Horse

Currency (pre-Vow): 126 gp, 27 sp, 5 cp
Experience: 4250/5000

I'm still open to any changes you might suggest

I'll get a copy of my current character on the board soon, when I get to my sheet. We have until the end of the section we're on to decide the final character to play the campaign with.

Oh you!

I really like those backstory ideas, and my monk barely has any material possessions as is (My GM says I should give my non-ascetic equipment to charity, funnily enough, one of the players is named Charity). We've already made the "chiseled, rock-hard abs" joke, as well.

Also, my character is named Garruk (no relation to the Planeswalker from the popular card game), so I was thinking about putting emphasis on his relation to nature, earth, and the wilderness.

Stunning Fist might be a good emphasis to take, debuffing is always good, and I have experience in that category (I ran a Natural Lythari/Monk 4/Warshaper 4/Fist of the Forest 1 in a previous campaign of 3.5, who used it to great effect).

This is the miniature I'm probably going to use:

EDIT: DM says "I'd say looks like diamond, but not actual diamond."

I rolled up my witnessed stats a while back, and they are really freaking good, so I pretty much have only one dump stat and 3 18s pre-racial.

I tried looking at the Student of Stone archetype, but I found myself questioning whether it's worth it or not because of the lack of Evasion. I'm pretty sure I'm also going to stick with a straight Monk for most of the campaign, as well, since I didn't see any PrCs that screamed "this is awesome for Monks". I really need to read all of the archetypes in my Ultimate Combat, though.

On another note, I also tried rolling up ideas for my character's backstory using Central Casting: Heroes of Legend (probably one of the wackiest books for backstory generation) and some of the parts of it really fit, like him being orphaned at a monastery at birth. However, I did get two crazy events: he was born with a blessing of having one beautiful body part: his chest, at the cost of being freakishly tall for an Oread.

I'd like a bit of advice on what archetypes, feats, and class features I should take as an Oread Monk. The DM is allowing anything on the SRD, although she prefers that we use items from the Core, Ultimate, and Advanced book series.

The first two feat slots are being taken up by feats my DM recommended to me, Sacred Vow and Vow of Poverty from the Book of Exalted Deeds (as well as the bonus Exalted feats from that book). She's fully aware the book is from 3.5 and is making it the one exception to her rule.

After the Vows, though, I'm not entirely sure where to go with the character build, how many levels I should take of Monk, if there are any good Prestige classes to go with it, ect... I'm used to 3.5's options, but I haven't really gotten time to read through all of the books for Pathfinder. Any and all help is appreciated.

Hmm, what do you think of choosing a crossblooded Efreeti/Draconic sorcerer? I like the fluff of both of them, and the powers/bonus spells seem pretty good, at least to a non-caster player. I'm not exactly sure which of each to choose at the appropriate levels, though, and I have no idea how long this campaign will last.

I'm new to Pathfinder (and casting classes in general, I've played 3.5), and would like some help with making an Ifrit sorcerer. The books I am limited to are the Core handbook, Advanced Players Guide, and Advanced Race Guide, although my DM said she would allow me to take the Efreeti Bloodline from Ultimate Magic.

I'm thinking about whether I should take the Elemental Fire bloodline or the Efreeti bloodline, and what racial features I should choose to augment my character effectively.

This character is going to be in a party with a Sylph Rogue, Undine Witch, Oread Monk, and a Drow Summoner, and I wanted him to fit in with the party's "theme" without losing any effectiveness.

The witnessed stats I rolled (4d6 drop lowest reroll ones) were 16/16/16/16/16/18 before racial mods. Also, we're starting out at level 1, but I'd like suggestions for a few levels past that.

I'd really appreciate help with this, because I'm not only readjusting to a new system with differences, but also to a new playstyle.
