Ahhhh... This was part of a convention? Did not realize that. :/
I did jump into this on recommendation of another internet stranger GraySquid at the last minute.

I will definitely continue to play PbP since it's the easiest way for me to scratch my RPG itch while still maintaining a good work/family/gaming balance.

Now to go read up on how to use the boons again.... it's been a while since I used them

TBH, not entirely sure I like the PFS format for PbP but I do like 2e as a system.
The pacing seemed a bit fast compared to other games that I'm part of.
Is that normal for PFS games?
I recall in person PFS games being wrapped up quickly since time is a finite resource, but had hopes this format would have allowed for more RP options.

To be fair this could be a case of numbat having a super high amount of interest and having to find GMs on the fly means Logsi wasn't necessarily prepping for a while (please don't take that the wrong way!! I really did enjoy. Just observing some of things I experienced)

I thought PbP generally goes in block initiative order.
i.e. because Dorian, Redd, and Ornaculus are in the same "block" they can go all together.

This is how my other PbP game is run so apologies if I confused the two.
I think it works out ok this time around though.

Unless Dorain does something wild that matters for order of operations....

Ornaculus is quite happy to be back in a non-haunted abode. You’ll find him up early over breakfast with his nose in a book titled Sailing for Dummies.
” I think I’ll prepare a spell to become an iguana...”

He will find the least seediest bar on the dock and walk in looking for the most intellectual looking person inside and process to ask about the wreck.
He’s also dressed in a traditional sailing outfit, with the hat and everything.

Ornaculus furrows his brow and thinks hard about what the creatures may be. Shouting to his party any useful information he can learn.

He finally raises his hand and cascades his dancing fingers down his body, causing the familiar blue armor to appear around him.

Ornaculus would have liked to study the ritual materials to see if there are any new spells he could learn from them. How do wizards get spells for their book in PFS?

After feeling right as rain, Ornaculus definitely would rub elbows with the local folks to get a pulse on the district. +5 Diplomacy

Over breakfast, Ornaculus speaks with the team.
"Well... that was pretty intense. What do you think we could have done better? I feel that I was very ill-prepared without any offensive magic to defend us with. Since we're dealing with a petrified person, do you think we'll have to carry them back here to the Lodge? If so, I've got some magicks for that!"

He mage hands a muffin into his agape maw, and looks to his compatriots.

Standing up straight and brushing off his robes, Oranculus steps from behind the couch and falters on the first step.
"I'll... be fine, Miss Appleblossom. We thankfully have Filtune and their goddes to that for that. "
He nods a thank you to the Cleric.

Pausing to recompose himself, he lifts his chest high and steadies himself. He glares at the woman in the center of the room

"I think first and foremost you must gather your things and come with us back to the Grand Lodge. This type of ritual cannot be toyed with again! You should reconsider your dabbling in the arcane all together! Where were your safety precautions..."

Ornaculus begins a lecture on the various magical checks and balances one can prepare when dealing with unknown rituals. Once started, he seems to be talking to no one in particular and paces about the room, punctuating points with a jab of his finger

No need to wait for him to finish his lecture, lol. He forgot y'all were in the room.

That's sort of my intent, but I think he'll at least pick up one cantrip after feeling helpless on his first big mission.

Finally seeing the pattern of the magicks, Ornaculus moves a final thread into what he hope's is the right spot.

I think this closes the last flaw? If not two more tries.

Seeing the flaws nearest him closed, Ornaculus moves to the NE corner of the ritual. His jazz fingers dance across his face before bringing them up to the attention of the eastern flaw.

I don't see where Shield only blocks physical damage. But do see where it block Magic Missile. And if it can block MM, it can block anything! haha.

TIL: Specific rules around the Shield Spell. :)

And yes. I will always use the shield to mitigate any damage taken.

I was hoping I could use it against the negative energy damage from the fort save. I'm fine either way.

and the veins in his body glow blue with magicks.

He then attempts to weave two flaws together and repair them.

1: Physical Boost +2 status bonus to next Acrobatics check, Athletics check, Fortitude save, or Reflex save it attempts.
2/3: Occultism to repair the flaws closest to him

Ornaculus ties the magic off like a knot and deliberately moves to the SE flaw.

While he takes a second to assess the flaw, he brings his hand up in front of his face and jazz hand wiggles some fingers, moving his hand down his body. The shimmery blue armor appears around him again before he begins weaving.

I enjoy google slides for maps. I use it for my IRL game that is now virtual due to COVID. Slides combined with Discord do a pretty dang googd job.
