Nualia's journal.... AWESOME! Tsuto's journal AWESOME!.... I wish WAYFINDER would have devoted an entire issue to sandpoint and the hinterlands.... their sidetreks in the Varisia issue were awesome... chopper's isle, under the Old Light, Deverin's Folly... all good stuff and very usuable....

seriously... many of us that are new to the game love having supplemental material for our AP's.... unfortunately, it seems like ROTRL is old now.... so folks are not intderested in creating supplement content... but with the BEGINNER's BOX coming out, I think that Sandpoint deserves alot more development....

For example, I decided to make the sandpoint devil the child of nualia.... Gorvi is a drunk bc his fiancee ( a half orc paladin) was captured by the sandpoint devil.... das korvut's story followed the choppers isle story from wayfinder....

What about turandurok academy??? that place seems like Hogwort's light.... so much potential to have fun in the Hinterlands... I feel like rotrl almost tried to cover too much by starting travel out so fast to magnimar in chapter 2.....

Oh well.... love paizo, love pathfinder, and love the community!

So when is it coming??? BTW.... I am soooooo glad that the maps are back in the next story arc.... in a way, I feel like pathfinder comics are the new DRAGON magazine!!! I offer huge thanks to paizo for this... with the new comics, I feel like I am understanding the world of Golarion, getting story ideas from the story and how to play characters.... the RPG content gives side trek adventures... and when they come with a map.... well... it is just too awesome! if anything, I would suggest putting in an article or two in the back of the comic (interviews, gaming tips, etc. ...). this may not be possible bc it is from Dynamite Comics.... but when you do the individual comics with a map and RPG content, I feel like I am getting a game supplement, the way I used to feel when I got hard covers of DRAGON..... I am so glad the maps are back! (I went back and ordered the first 6 comics despite the fact I had the hardcover for dark waters rising)....

I love you guys for listening to the customers!!!!

And, yes, I do understand that this story arc did not come with maps in the individual comics....

Btw... Vic, if you are reading this.... have you guys ever considered putting pdf's of some of your battle mats on the website.... desigened to be blown up to 400% (easily done at kinkos).... this way you could make mats for taverns, city hall, turandarok academy, etc.? just a suggestion...

Maybe you could create 6 for the comics that didnt come with maps?

This is a ramble... sorry!

This is an awesome idea... I imagine that from a marketing perspective, the issue might be how to make this a player's product instead (or in addition to) a GM product. For paizo to make a decision to produce a product, the sales numbers need to be solid. player products sell about 4 times as much as GM products (as an owner from my FLGS explained to me)....

So... in addition to GM material... a box with a player focus may make the difference in sales. Again, the BB did so many things right, player book, GM book, pre gens, pawns, battle mat....

I imagine player resources as:
Pawns (of townfolk and particular npc's)
Dice
Poster map of sandpoint
Poster map of hinterlands
Poster map of varisia
Pre gen characters
Character sheets
A list of sandpoint rumors every one knows after living there several days
A booklet of npc's
Another battle mat
A small booklet with the already generated sanpoint info (basically all of the stuff in the RotRL anniversary edition plus some of the stuff from other AP's.
A sturdy box that is labled and designed for carrying all of a player' stuff. maybe even making the box a playable surface like with the DnD tiles boxes.
Maybe throw in 1 prepainted mini? non random and different... (bad idea?)
Playable grids (like in the pathfinder comics) of several locations

GM centered content (with warning for players to not read like the BB):
one 32 page booklet for the GM with juicier rumors that you have to dig for and 5 side trek style adventures. including grid posters of notable locations in town that can be blown up and photocopied....

Anyhow... I know that gamemastery sold a product that was nothing but a box! it looked cool and was designed for holding your stuff! I think that makikng a player centric box would help GM's out soooo much bc players would have some maps to look at outside of the game, have rumors and pictures to look at outside the game, and maybe would arrive with all of their stuff bundled in a box.... the boxes could serve as buildings and playable surfaces (with a few extra pawns and battlemats to boot!)

What do you guys think? is this thinking wrong? maybe this is too much for one reasonably priced product ($40?).

I agree 100% with enjoying gaming with limited classes and races.... I think that the reason that folks are so excitexd about the new d and d 5e is that it is going back to a simpler system... to a large degree, this is a game of the imagination and improvisation... instead of creating thousands of rules and sub classes, a good gaming group with a creative GM can create a wonderful synergistic experience... and have FUN! the essence of ttrpg's is collective strory telling and playing "make believe" like we did as children.... with a FEW rules to provide challenges, puzzles, obstacles.... to a large degree, the attitude and maturity of the PC players and the creative improvisation of the GM drive everything... I submit that rules bloat hinder the very engine of good collective story telling...

I DM 2 pathfinder games... my homebrew rules focus essentially on keeping things simple, and always following the creative leads of my players... my best DM moments are probably at the moment that a PC says something really cool ("i wonder if that monster was actually the child of this villain?" referring to nualia and the sandpoint devil...it sounds cool! so the answer is yes!).... we dont need an ever expanding list of classes and races to use our imaginations ......

this is my humble opinion

I ask the community a question. I really like the new pathfinder comics. also, like many others, I really enjoy the RPG content in the back. furthermore, I am really happy that the maps are back with the latest series. I find that I now have multiple easy side treks available, with a map! I dont think I would normally buy some of these maps, or consider obtaining these side treks... but it is so fun to see what is coming with the next comic!

So... my question is this: if the back material were extended a little bit or maybe a few articles or interviews.... then wouldn't this be an awesome successor to Dragon? I mean, for me, having the physical comic is motive to get something in print... and with the RPG content and map it already feels like what I used to look forward to some 20 years ago... ideas, stories, game aids...

Thoughts???
