Do we just wait here until Black Hat cools off, then? Who wants to be the messenger for parley? Nameless unconsciously edges slightly away from the entrance to the laundry room as she asks.

Oh no, don't get me wrong - I don't fault you for wanting to end the evil. Not at all. It's just ... it's likely not amenable to talking out our differences or informing us of its Grand Yellow Plan at the moment.

Still shaken, Nameless mumbles, Talk to it? I'm not sure it would be very open to discussion at the moment. Not after Fritz's not so eloquent greeting. Also, I don't know if I want to hear what it has to say ...

The oracle keeps a close eye on the halls, the tunnel and surroundings while everyone is gathering themselves.

Will Save (DC 15 to put self in danger): 1d20 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11

If approaching Fritz puts Nameless in danger (assuming yes, but since Black Hat walked towards Mrakala ...) then:

The Oracle tries to summon the will to approach Fritz and heal him, but is thoroughly shaken and cannot quite find the courage to enter the fray. Nameless backs away towards the door as Black Hat approaches Mrakala. Fritz, come on - live to fight this evil abomination another day.

If approaching Fritz does not put Nameless in danger:

Nameless skirts around Black Hat and approaches the paladin to heal him. Let's live to fight another day, Fritz. Let's get to the barricade.

Either way, as soon as Fritz is in range, cast Cure Light Wounds on him. Doesn't help the level drain, but HP are never bad to restore.

Nameless sleeps like the dead, not moving once after curling up under her ragged blanket. She wakes up refreshed after a night absent of fluttering (or any) dreams and is noticeably more composed. She greets Ghelik, and is about to respond to him when Mrakala approaches. She shrugs. I didn't speak to Winter about anything. She was there in more of an oversight role. Looking thoughtful, she continues. I, um, spoke to Rocksauce primarily. She is really quite delightful. She - Nameless pauses and swallows, recalling the feeling of Rocksauce poking around in her head and her reversion at the end of the conversation. I think it was very hard for her.

At any rate, we spoke only about my lack of memories and ... 'condition'. Nothing too exciting honestly. Clearing her throat, she moves to end the conversation, moving to get a bit of breakfast in the kitchen. I didn't think to ask Winter anything about our situation, I'm sorry. She stops and turns after a few steps towards the kitchen, and returns to the two men. I'm pretty sure she doesn't know much more than we do about what's caused all of this. Rocksauce had to assure her that I wasn't involved. Nameless turns back to walk to the kitchen, humming a melodic tune.

The oracle's hair looks as if someone is sliding along behind her, being pulled along by holding on.

@DM_DM: What are effects of getting a good night's rest on our Fugue/Mental/Physical starting states? Also, does SAN get restored?

I'm sorry, I don't mean to upset you. But there are usually bits of lost memories and feelings and, and connections. They're torn or crushed or distorted, but they're there.

"But not with you. Your memories are just... gone. Like they were... dissolved. It's very specific. Very... clean."

Nameless listens intently, noting Rocksauce's translation-seeking. After, she nods and sighs, shoulders slumping. That makes a lot of sense from my point of view, for many memories - I can follow them back to the point where we all woke up during the earthquake, and then there is just ... fluttering. At the last word, she shudders a bit.

DM_DM wrote:

"Second, you are," the hand thing again, "infested. You're picking up pieces of people. Not actual souls, though. More like fragments. Psychic impressions. Bits of memory and volition. "I think there's some sort of... something... a protection... that prevents them from being too harmful. You can gain them or lose them. They're real, though." She cocks her head. "Were you worried about that? They're really real, and they're not part of you."

An array of emotions passes over Nameless' face while the young psychic explains this to her, distrust, then thoughtfulness, then towards the end - relief. Is this true? Does she actually see this in my head? I wasn't sure if they were there. We *did* wake up in an asylum, after all ... of course that doesn't mean I wasn't here before ...

What caused this? Do you have any idea at all?

DM_DM wrote:

Looking alarmed, Nameless turns to Winter. You thought *I* had something to do with the ... earthquake? The madness? The ... those ... dreams? Aghast, the oracle shakes her head vigorously. I may not have my memories, but I'm certainly not driving any of .. of this! She gestures sharply to the obvious situation everyone has found themselves in.

Please believe me, I want nothing but to get out of this place. But until then ... She pauses and looks to both Rocksauce and Winter, though avoiding their eyes. ... until then, I will do everything I can to insure we *all* make it out.

Assuming everyone is done, Nameless stands and looks to Rocksauce. Thank you. You have given me much to think on, and brought me a bit of peace. It's only been a couple of days, but it's felt like months ... And to Winter: Thank you for the privacy of your office. I don't know that I would want everyone hearing this.

Yeah, that's a great seed, thanks! The haunted aspect is one of it, but as Spirit Guide archetype I'll eventually have one spirit per day bound to me, granting me some new abilities (and likely some sort of personality shift).

Yes. Everything you say is true. But ... the voices have almost become completely silent since ... since ... Nameless shudders and wraps her arms around herself. In a smaller voice: Since I tried to sleep on the couch. And the man in yellow by the foggy lake. And his fluttery pets ... I-I think he killed one of the voices. They've been quiet since. He said I was a 'thing of pieces'.

What does that even mean?! I'm not sure how any of this came to be. I'm not sure who I am. I'm not sure who my friends are -she gestures towards the office doorway, her voice betraying a panic. - and ... I don't even know why I'm here! She collapses in on herself, fighting back rising emotion, trying to grasp her situation.

Just a short nap. Yeah ... that's ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Nameless hands over her spear, but keeps her armor on for now; she approaches Winter, waiting for a turn to speak with her. Just to let you know, I, uh, have some ... abilities? If needed. She glances over to the two wounded patients, and looks down to her hands. I was able to close wounds and make them disappear by willing them to mend. It was like ... warmth. If that's needed here, I am happy to help. Though I am not sure how much more I can do without some restful sleep.

"Triage?"

Yes. Triage.

I have one more CLW for the day if there are any patients or guards who need it -- and I know we need some healing, too.

Otherwise, Nameless wanders through the sanctuary, taking in all of the new personalities, and occasionally holding conversations -- with self and others. Though technically, they are all with others.

Awkwardly trying to decide whether to curtsy, bow, both, or neither -- Nameless mumbles. Auditor-aspirant? Doctor Lomar mentioned you ... I can't really remember our names. Glancing around surreptitiously, she corrects herself. I - I can't remember my name or anything since before the quake. Just the ... Involuntary swallow. We woke up, you see. Downstairs. In the cells with a doctor cutting open ... just the lake, and the mists in The City. The oracle seems to shake herself and refocus her eyes, as if thinking on The City was dragging her back into the nightmare.

I've been going by -" The VERY creative moniker:" - Nameless.

"Smooth. Real smooth."

Aside: Shutup. To Winter: We thank you for allowing us behind the barricade. The rest of the area is ... inhospitable.

I am not going to Wing D. Not to- ... today? Tonight? Whatever. Let's get to safety. To the chapel. Winter's. Wing D, or wherever, will be there after we sleep. Nameless looks around to the group. And if it is not, then we likely won't be alive to worry about finding our records.

Mrakala's arrogance taken down a notch? Or will this inspire vengeance? Tune in at 11:00 to find out!

The oracle continues to try and coax Kyleen back out of her head, but agrees with the return to the chapel. Let's get back to the chapel and we can iron out any differences. From your earlier statement - Nameless nods to Rocksauce - there's at least one more doctor ...

"HiS nAmE wAs 'O'. dOcToR o."

"doctorthunderballdoctorthunderball!"

Nameless pauses and listens for a moment. Thank you. Doctor O, I think - is still out there. I don't ... I don't want to meet up with any more doctors right now. The oracle glances up from staring at the floor to Kyleen. No offense.

Nameless approaches the bard and lightly touches her on the arm. You will be alright. You, uh ... both will. We're going to make it out of here. With a backward glance at Mrakala, and a shudder, the oracle moves around to get a closer look at Kyleen's face, her eyes narrow as she stares intently. With a completely serious look she asks: What does the good doctor suggest about our melting friend?

"Oh, I see. Asking the *doctor* with his fancy *degrees* and *training*!"

"Oh SuRe, NaMeLeSs WoNdEr -- ThE mEdIcAl DoCtOr, WhO iS fReShLy A sPiRiT -- wIlL cErTaInLy KnOw InTrIcAtE dEtAiLs AbOuT tHiS bReAcH iN rEaLiTy ..."

The oracle frowns.

Eyes locked on Yordan, and giving him wide berth, Nameless skirts the wall opposite where the mirror stood and makes her way to the door. "Nice throw, kid." Nice throw, Rocksauce.
