"Dreaming bear, share with this mite the gift of sleep," Onna calls out, beseeching the sleepy bear spirit who walked with her. Slumber Hex, DC 13 will save or fall asleep for 1 round. He will awaken at the start of Onna's next turn.

Just to let everyone know, I am leaving tomorrow for a 3-day pathfinder convention and will have very little time to check the forums, so I will most likely not be able to post during that time. I'll see you all again on Monday!

Onna carries her spear as she marches with the group, scanning the cavern ahead with her excellent eyesight. With +12 perception, darkvision, and low-light vision, she makes a good lookout.

Onna would like to be near the front, probably... third. Arkady should be first, then Thum (they are the strongest at melee) then Onna. I could also take up the rear, as I have excellent perception and am less likely to be surprised.

"I am not the best one for speaking," Onna says, seeing the woman's gaze on her. "But we welcome your help in finding Khonnir Baine. I am called Onna. We have agreed to help some natives who live in these caverns destroy some pests - and they have agreed to help us find Baine." She eyes Preli's weapon suspiciously. "I hope that device is in good repair. I have seen its like explode before and cause great injury."

Onna smiles at Thum's declaration. "It will be my honor to commune with the spirits on our shared path. I have not yet developed the gift of foresight - but I still think I can predict a great destiny for us." I think we can all agree we're gonna help these guys. I'm ready for an encounter!

"My sisters are my family, and I will join them when my time comes." Onna replies. "Many of my sisters have been the brides of chieftains, but the Onna cannot bear children. I have been with the tribe since my awakening - before that, I have no memory. Before me was the Owl Onna - she passed peacefully from age, and our body lay for two moons in the sacred caves near our homeland. When I awoke, first conscious of this world, Ôka was there to greet me. When I touched him, I could see into the spirit world, and the Owl Onna taught me who I was."

"Nay, only the Onna are reborn. There are trials aplenty in the next life for the rest of the tribe. Each Onna shares this face, this flesh." Onna leans her head to the side, revealing a gash on her neck where the beautiful nanite circuitry of her flesh is marred by a jagged scar from an animal's bite. "The Onna four generations before me gained this scar from a plains-tiger. Her spirit animal was the mighty mammoth - she whispers secrets of strength and beast-wrestling to me in my sleep." She smiles. "Someday I will teach a new Onna, when she inherits this flesh. My hope is that I am wise and have much to teach when I pass into spirit."

Onna smiles at Thum's artistic rendering. "A potato, but a mighty-looking potato indeed," she jokes. Taking the metal fragment, she scrapes a representation of her own face into the stone. Her motions are precise and rigid, but she produces an impressive facsimile of her face on the stone. "I'm afraid I've never thought about how to spell my name in the city-tongue. Hmm," she thinks for a moment, before scribing "ONNA" in wide, symmetrical letters. Beneath it, she draws a skunk. "It would not be me if not for Ôka's face too," she says, tickling the skunk's chin on her shoulder. The little mammal closes his eyes, enjoying the attention. "Each Onna is chosen by a different spirit animal when she is reborn. Ôka is mine. In my dreams I dance with my sisters who came before me in this flesh." Hallit has no written form, so she would need to write the name in Taldane.

Onna pulls a silverdisk out of the pile, showing it to Thum. "This looks valuable. I've seen traders using these like coin." Having found an appropriate target for her search, Onna methodically overturns every fragment of the rubble pile, moving from the left side to the right. When she reaches the end, she has seven in all. "That is all of them," she announces definitively.

Onna will take 20 for a result of 32 on a perception check. "I know the city merchants like these strange sky-metals," Onna says, sifting through the debris, her eyes flicking mechanically from one discarded gadget to the next. "What purpose do they use them for? What crafts were forged in the purple fires of Torch with these scraps?"

Onna glares defiantly into the large metal eye of the creature. Metalbeasts were among the most deadly of Numeria's inhabitants, and were prone to strange, violent actions from the stories she had been told by both her clansfolk and by her spirit-sisters. She was not convinced this one was harmless, but she decided to trust Adrien for now. She would keep an eye on it, though. Stowing her weapon once more, Onna turns her attention to the strange humanoid shapes, moving over to inspect them more closely.

We should just be consistent. High rolls are always good. So a d100 roll of a 19 will miss a person with 20% concealment, while a 23 will hit. Same with 50% concealment - a 50 or less misses, a 51 or higher hits.

Sounds good. "It looks like a holy mark, but I do not know the signs of the gods that cityfolk worship," Onna replies. "But before we search downstream, there is a passage we missed. We should check it." Her vision returned, she hefted her spear and prepared to march back down the tunnel.

We should wait. Don't explore while half the party is blind. Investigating the "something" should be fine. I only have time for this quick OOC post right now, but Onna will remind everyone that, in a pinch, she can provide her own water breathing to the entire party, if given a night's rest.

She steps back, bringing her hand to the wound as she asks the spirits to banish her injury. Can't access the map right now. Five-foot-stepping back, use Healing Hex on myself.

As the foul-smelling musk splattered directly onto the creature's wide, bulbous eyes, everyone in the chamber could smell the horrible stench. The monster needs to make a DC 11 fortitude save or be nauseated for 1d4 rounds, and then sickened for 1d4 minutes by the horrific stench. A successful save reduces the effect to only 1d4 rounds of being sickened.

I suggest that you move things along when a few people have posted unless it's been a very short time. You shouldn't always need input from the entire party before progressing - that's an unrealistic standard for a PbP. In this situation - what is so crucial about Onna posting a reaction to Thum offering her some water that the party can't progress deeper into the tunnels until she makes a post? I'm not being critical, just explaining my point. I'd prefer we move along quickly and not require a "roll call" after every single GM post. Thum shouting and calling out is a major enough event that we could get a development right away - even if it's just being told that we hear no reply in the darkness. Onna clambers out of the water, shaking herself off. The first thing she checks is her skunk, who proves he is much more accomplished at drying himself, sending a shower of water onto everyone nearby. She politely declines Thum's offer of water. I've had enough water for one day, she thinks. "He'll certainly hear that if he's anywhere near the entrance," Onna remarked. It did not occur to her that anything else lurking in the caverns might have overheard.

I was just waiting on someone else to be the first one into the water. I check the thread very frequently, but I don't always want to be the first one diving into things! Seeing no need to delay, Onna checks her weapons and equipment to ensure nothing will come loose in the water. That the water is tainted is obvious, though she does not suffer the same discomfort as the others. Ensuring that Ôka, her skunk companion, is secured, she wades into the water and begins to swim ahead, checking as she does to make sure that the little animal can breathe as well. The darkness beneath the water's surface does not impede her, and she does her best to swim directly through the submerged passage.

"It is a fool who doubts the spirits' power," Onna remarked. Like Tio, she seemed to be simply stating a fact, rather than expressing any malice toward the arcanist. To Onna, spirit-magic was simply a way of life. I like how the two androids are sort of firing jabs back and forth at one another but neither is bothered by it. Hehe.

I'm ready. You can just skip us along without voting in the future, if everyone's comfortable with that. I'd rather get underway quicker! :) "If we do become trapped, worry not. The spirits can provide me with similar magic for breathing water, though it would take time to prepare." Onna can give the entire party the ability to breathe water, but only if she selects it as her Minor Spirit hex for the day.

Eager to get into the caves, Onna speaks up. "That you may, Joram Kyte. I am called Onna. The Councillor, your chieftain, sends us to follow Khonir Baine and return him to Torch. We are told your magic can aid us in passing through the water blocking our way."

It wouldn't even occur to Onna to investigate the flame, so she votes to head to the cave. In the morning, Onna rises with the sun, meditating to commune with the spirits. She calls out to The Dreamer, a lazy and slothful bear spirit with the power to send people into a restful slumber. Her spirit animal guided her into the trance that would allow her to prepare her magic, imbuing her with the nascent power of the sleepy bear's dreams. The spirit dreamed of sweet berries in a thick bramble, so the bramble's thick vines and thorns became Onna's weapons and armor in her magic. Androids should already be susceptible to charm person, with or without the Impossible bloodline. We're humanoids, and we're not immune to mind-affecting spells. It does bypass an android's +4 against mind-affecting spells, though!

Personally, I'd agree with the GM on this and rule the Impossible Bloodline such that it simply knocks off the "mind-affecting" tag from your compulsion spells. So you can affect them with charm person, or suggestion, but they retain their other immunities. Also, sleep has a one-round cast time anyway, just so you know - so the effect wouldn't occur until the beginning of Tio's next turn.
