Is the cost of crafting an item out of special materials counted in the formula for the time it takes to make that item?
Ex. I want to craft a masterwork mitheral tower shield, a normal masterwork tower shield would cost 180 gp, or 1800 sp. My craft skill is 15, and assuming i take 10 on the check, it would give me a result of (with a +10 DC to speed it along)
24 x 25 = 600
so after 3 days, i would finish crafting it by achieving the 1800.
if i add mitheral into it, that's another 1,000 gp, making the price 1,180, and the number i need to fill, a hefty 11,800
11,800/600 = Almost 20 days of work.
That seems like a lot, and pretty impractical for a character to create their own nifty armor when there's adventuring to be done. Doing it while adventuring would extend that by x4, about 80 days. by the time you would finish crafting it, you may need better armor than that.
So seeing as this seems kinda impractical, do you add the cost of special materials in? at that rate, heavy adamantine armor would take something like 250 days, a very long time. Is all that math correct?
