Background:
Oishi was born to a Hunter and a Barmaid/Chef of a Tavern. Since he was little, he worked with meat, helping his father with the catch from the hunt, and his mother with cooking.
When it came time to live on his own, seeing how his eyesight was very bad, he opted to work as a Chef himself. He learned from one of the greatest cooks in a city near his hometown. But he learned too well. When he was about to win a Iron Chef Tournament against his Mentor, that same Mentor cheated, but Oishi could never prove it.
After supposedly having given half the jury stomach cramps, he was disgraced and decided to move on.
He was amazed at the different dishes even a modest distance from his home, and kept travelling, learning more. After several years of Travel, he felt a need to settle down. He felt he was very ready to be a perfect cook. However, wherever he tried to find work, he only had very bland, local things to work with.
Then he heard of an open recruitment call for a fancy noble's restaurant, and packed up his trusted kitchen equipment and was on his way there.
