If it isn't too late, Ogren will drink the extracts he got from Dr. Vitruvian, adding Defensive Shock & Jump to his list.

"Snarky for metal folk, aren't they?" Ogren grumbles as he prepares his attack.

* Blessing of Fervor choice: +2 Attacks, AC & Reflex
* Swift action: use Spirit Bond to activate Burst of Speed for extra movement range & opportunity attack negation
* Move action: go through the Wall of Fire at least once, but I'll roll for twice. Ogren should have plenty of movement with that to get around to the other side of the enemy lines
* Standard action: power attack on the caster construct

During their preparation time, Ogren surveys the site of the coming battle as well as the area nearby. They couldn't allow the enemy to get past them if their plan was to succeed.

Thinking of changing up Ogren's spells for this one. Seems like a good time to consider spells like Entangle and Spike Growth. I usually ignore stuff like that due to low DCs, but constructs have pretty bad saves... Maybe Alarm would be good as well?

And we can't have clockworks attacking Round Mountain as soon as it arrives, either."

I didn't think we were going back to the governor until we had more but it doesn't look like it hurt things.

More broadly, I'm not sure I have any idea what we are supposed to be looking for to convince her. Even if we found evidence that Round Mountain used to be here, that doesn't have a logical connection to the fact that the Society is going to drop a big rock on their heads...so confusing.

Also, this set of skill checks is very bad for Ogren.

GM, a question on Ogren's Spirit Bond ability (the dynamic casting part). By your reading, is there anything that would keep me from using it as a swift action for Instant Enemy? I think the standard action spells are pretty clear.

I think that critical hit barely missed confirming on Ogren. Note that he has a +2 bonus vs critical confirmation rolls from his dwarven boulder helmet. It's still a lot of damage either way.

I'm confused. I thought we weren't in the Tapestry & were preparing for a Tapestry location to come back.

Ogren slashes his axe at the hounds, trying to free Ilvan from their harrassment.

Attack (Power Attack): 1d20 + 19 - 3 ⇒ (16) + 19 - 3 = 32
Damage: 1d10 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 6 = 18

Attack (Iterative, Power Attack): 1d20 + 19 - 5 - 3 ⇒ (2) + 19 - 5 - 3 = 13
Damage: 1d10 + 9 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 9 + 6 = 25

Depending on what is up after Swayaah & Ilvan, Ogren might have flanking. It looks like he can 5' up to his next target if the first goes down.

Positioned Ogren, although I'm not certain what our direction of travel was. I'm assuming it is more downward on the map toward the fungal forest.

Since we're entering the zone anticipating combat, can Ogren have precast Longstrider and Barkskin?

Ogren watched, satisfied, as Malaika and Maudril negotiated with the governor. Ably, in his view, though there was no telling what the ratfolk would think of it. This was quite the bit of unwanted news they were delivering.

He watched by the sideline. His hands were meant for digging through stone and his eyes for finding the clearest path. His mouth had never done him much good. That time in Belkzen still burned at him...

Ogren turns to address the group with what he knows about the region. "You might be thinking that you know what to expect from Nar Voth given what we're used to seeing under Avistan. Well, it's all different here. The funny dark-skinned elves and the Droskar-loving traitors never made it out this far. Too bad...can't kill them if they aren't here. Not much of any dwarves either."

"Instead, we'll find ratfolk, some of the Tian-style demons and if we take a wrong turn we could run into Underworld dragons. Keep an eye open and your wits about."

"This region is also prone to flooding. Turns out that if some fancy sorcerer moves a mountain worth of rock out from underfoot it causes all kinds of problems. Underground rivers are going all the wrong ways now and haven't had enough time to sort themselves out yet. Might run into some flooded caverns. Be ready for a swim."

"As far as this plan about posing as merchants goes, it sounds fine enough to me, but I've always been thumbs when it comes to deal-making and such. My cousin Torgas would've fit right in. I can still pose as a guide though. Not much pretending."

Neat. Ogren has been to Nar Voth before and actually has a Darklands-specific boon he can make use of. I'll assume for the purpose of the post that we've already been introduced, since we've apparently been on a long journey already.

"Never thought I'd be back here so soon. Smells familiar even on the other side of the map," a dark-haired dwarf rumbles as he he acknowledges Venture-Captain Li.

Ogren has served as a guide for much of the trip. "Tell me where you need to go, and I'll get you there," being a common refrain. While swapping tales of your exploits, you've learned that he specializes in underground locales.

As is typical of him, the dwarf is well-equipped at the gathering. A shovel and a mining pick are strapped to his pack alongside more common adventuring gear.

GM: he kept the normal Stonecutting racial ability for dwarves, so if you want to pre-roll some Perception for him vs unusual stonework ala trap spotter, his base Perception is +16, +2 for Stonecutting & likely modified by +4 Underground favored terrain.

If it helps, the boon version of Favored Enemy (Aspis Consortium) is better. It applies to their agents without any reference to badge carrying as well as any creatures directly employed by the Consortium, so most everything in their encounters.

I'll just chip in to say that I don't understand why people take favored enemy: human so aggressively. Sure it becomes relevant more often than other favored enemies, but humans are not very hard to kill. I tend to save my best favored enemy choices for things that are difficult to deal with or are otherwise scary, like evil outsiders or constructs...perhaps undead. Favored Enemy: Human makes a good secondary +2 choice but I see a lot of +4 human selections and it just seems like so much overkill to me.
