Game left due to change in work situation
So, I've just started a new job this week and though I figured I'd find a way to balance it with free time, I simply haven't. I work 10 hour shifts and run a commute that's over an hour each way. Basically I have no time for anything during my weekdays for the next 3-6 months.
Of course, that means posting to campaigns is just extra I can't manage right now when I hardly have time to make dinner before I'm back to getting ready for bed. So rather than lag the entire campaign with my dead weight, I'll just dip out now before it gets worse.
I'm really sorry about this, I certainly hadn't anticipated a 10 hour day job when I started picking up campaigns on the forums, but I guess that's just the way my particular cookie crumbled this new year.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette sits quietly, her eyes darting about around her. The fumes and noise don't seem to bother her as much as the others, of course she'd been around many noisy and poorly ventilated machines her whole life.
"Do we know anything about the way the cloudboys operate? Other than with some secrecy, it would seem," she asked, eyeing up their masks.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette scurries after her companions as they move towards the entrance. "I've never been somewhere so... dicey," Odette murmurs.

"That bike's out of place. Someone cares for it. The others are in disrepair, I can hear the machine spirits crying from them."
If Odette notices anything else but the trashy bikes, she makes no sign of it.

Inquiry 30: 1d100 ⇒ 43
Odette makes her attempts at stopping people for information, but gives up when she remembers her social anxiety outside the comforts of a medical clinic.
Of course, she perks up when Volc points out the correct route. At least she assumes it's the correct route.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette shakes her head at the slides.
"I can't do much with them, even with my Interface Port. I think an external computer is needed. Or for me to get a little more computer like myself," she explains to Red. "May I hold on to them should I manage to find such a thing?"
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette takes the slates curiously and inspects them both a few times before tinkering with them. It was better to get to know the machinery you were working with before asking it any favors.

Game left due to change in work situation
Odette balked a touch when her companions followed the red-haired stranger so willingly, but she didn't voice her own protests as they followed the stranger through the streets. She kept her eyes open for any threats, or places of potential interest en route. You never know what could be a potential resource in the future.

~ ~ ~
Once at the hatch, Odette hesitates before going in behind her companions. Obviously they knew something about this red head she didn't. A rather broken bit of machinery, a superfluously decorative piece in her mind, caught her attention. At the suggestion that perhaps she could fix the odd little thing, she gave an enthusiastic nod, forgetting all about her mistrust of the woman for the moment.
Tech Use 70: 1d100 ⇒ 45
She tinkered for a bit with it, pulling and twisting bits here and there. "Hmm, looks like... A code. Some coordinates in the lower hive. Gallowsway?"
Once finished with it, she looks about the room. "Got more to fix?"
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette shivers and unconsciously rubs at her arms as if trying to warm herself. She watches the woman's odd hand gestures, then shrugs, looking to the others for some sort of clue, though so far, it seems everyone is just as confused as she is.
"C-can we help you?" she asks timidly.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette is more than glad to follow Ciaran's leadership in finding a safehouse for them to reevaluate their strategy now that they have a bit more information about where they are going. Things are clearly not going to be made easy for them.
Game left due to change in work situation
I agree. A good reset and regroup. Do we know anything about where we are now that'd give us a good idea of where we could do that?
Game left due to change in work situation
Oh! Awesome!
Dodge 25?: 1d100 ⇒ 20
Fortunately, Odette managed to spot the signs of the leak before it happened, stepping out of the way just in time.
"I agree, Volc. We need to move off. I will tend to your injuries when we get a moment."
Game left due to change in work situation
Assuming I failed as the check seems to have been based off sound, meaning my mechadendrite's bonus is not included.
Odette gives a sharp yelp as she's hit by something hot and painful on her very unprotected head.
Taking the full damage
Game left due to change in work situation
I missed a +10 mod from my mechadendrite to the check, so believe I should have made the check actually, assuming the awareness check was based on visual stimuli! Ought to be a 65, not a 55.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette nervously follows the group, she only hopes her face doesn't show her anxiety.
Awareness 55: 1d100 ⇒ 59 Sigh...
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette has no issue following Daniel's lead and follows him to slip into the more appropriate disguise attire for their attempt at the lift. She's mildly impressed with his leadership and problem solving skills; she certainly didn't have the wits or courage for this particular plan.
She does her best to follow him with the same confidence he's clearly moving with, chin held high and nose turned up. She has to suppress a little gasp of surprise when he starts barking orders about.
Game left due to change in work situation
"... So what now?" Odette asks the group, examining the lifts. "Doubt we're going to get up there unseen."
Game left due to change in work situation
Game left due to change in work situation
"So, what's the plan exactly?"
Game left due to change in work situation
I still think that the squishies ought to go in the middle, so me and Ciaran should swap. But that's just my perspective. I always assume something will come up to surprise us from the back. But that's rather metagamey for me to say, as Odette would never actually say anything out loud if she has concerns about marching order, so do with that what you will!
Game left due to change in work situation
As one of the squishy-squishies, I'll take middle. That way I'm not caught from the back or front. The other squishy ought to be in a similar place imo!
Game left due to change in work situation
"Alright then, no dilly-dallying. Lets get a move on it," Odette says, cautiously walking out to the exit and into the streets.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette looked at her own outfit she had been handed for a disguise and cringed. It was certainly not her style. Or her color. Ah, but their are more important things that beauty, she reminded herself and she slipped the outfit over top of her own clothes. How... frumpy... At least this one fits fairly well, she thought as she looked over herself as best she could.
Disguise 60: 1d100 ⇒ 73
But apparently the form fit was a little less than the typical look for a hiver. Not that she cared or noticed. Or would even know.
Game left due to change in work situation
"Of course I'll say thank you. What sort of person needs a reminder for something so generous!" Odette exclaimed, looking actually offended that anyone in their right mind may have so little manners.
She starts her thank yous to Feliks and Volc, bowing low. "Thank you so much for being willing to assist me. I'd have never managed had I needed to do it on my own," she says. She then approaches the apparent leader of this band of Collectors, offering a hand out to shake. "I assure you I did not intend for their to be any intimidation in my statement. Merely incredulous comments between companions. I humbly thank you for the gift. If I was not in such dire need, I'd not take anything. I assure you my gratitude is undying."
With that all sorted, she packs herself up and looks to the others. "Shall we then?" she asks with a beaming smile.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette glances back at Ciaran and laughs. "I'll tell you now my aim isn't spectacular so that is more likely to blow up something important rather than rats in my hands. All the hours spent in the medical lab aren't great for all that weapon practice you lot seemed to have had," she says waving a hand before continuing on.
As Volc strides up beside her, she cants her head to the side to give him a smile. "Ah, thank you for coming along. I dare say I was slightly sure I was going to be trading my pride, and Servo-Skull repair parts, for a swift death," she exclaims, a rather jovial tone ringing clear through her voice. Her appreciation is sincere, and relief is fairly obvious. "Thank you."
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette shakes her head, finishes the last couple tinkers with her servo-skull then stands up. "Since when did my sort have more guts than anyone else? Never thought I'd see myself go where apparently a "sister" dares not," she mused none too discretely as she stepped past the other woman.
"I ought to make notes of this for when the services of myself and my Skully are needed..."
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette glances up at the others from her place seated on the cleaner parts of trash with a smile. "You said you all wanted to make some alliances with the locals."
Game left due to change in work situation
"Uh, no. I am not leaving it. I'll gladly show you how to fix one of these up in exchange though," Odette offers to the collectors. "I imagine you occasionally see something of this sort down here, or at least of similar build. Might be useful to know what to look for and how to fix it. Or, perhaps I can do a quick fix on on of your own items? I haven't much time, if the bossy one is any indicator, but I'll do what I can, including stalling her," she adds with a big grin.
Game left due to change in work situation
I'm away from my PC at the moment and can't get at my book. Anyone able to tell me how long it takes to use the Medicae skill for things? I'm considering offering a quick medical service in exchange for the parts, but don't know if that's viable time-wise.
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette seems to be in her own little world, muttering about mechanical parts as she scuttles about the debris, clearly looking for something, even if that something isn't clear to anyone else.
Awareness 75: 1d100 ⇒ 57
Once she's found a few pieces she thinks are compatible with her Servo-Skull, she plunks down on the cleanest bit of trash she can find and starts fiddling with the machinery. Surely the others have everything in hand, not that she's been paying attention.
Tech Use 70: 1d100 ⇒ 35
Game left due to change in work situation
With the threat mostly gone, and Ciaran apparently taking the lead on diplomatic actions, Odette busied herself with fussing over her darling Servo-Skull. "Oh what have they done to you?" she cooed over the piece of machinery. She glanced around the dump, looking for anything that might help her with repairs.
What sorts of rolls would you want for my to try to potentially scavenge up some bits and bobs to do repairs on Skully here?
Game left due to change in work situation
Odette, seeing that the Collectors are falling back and the Razor Angels are doing... something? They weren't perusing and that one was groaning and--- Who was that speaking? Odette's optical mechadendrite roved around trying to spot the source of the voice while she herself fell back beside Volc. Meat shields were occasionally almost as helpful as the sort she was sure she could construct.
Perception 45: 1d100 ⇒ 53
She holds up her autogun towards the Razor Angels, and holds her fire. She was hardly a good shot, but if they started towards her current location, she'd let off a few rounds.
Game left due to change in work situation
I did post for round three (the first to do so, actually). I donned my robe and got my gun out of my gear, then headed for the path if anyone else was heading that way and I had enough action left. I'm just going to wait for a couple of the people before me to post round 4 before I do, too.
Game left due to change in work situation
I feel that. Had a good couple posts eaten by the forum monster.
Game left due to change in work situation
Just realized, I don't think I ever rolled for wounds (I've now been informed we got max) or corruption...
Corruption: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
Wounds: 10/14
Odette quickly shuffles through her bags, donning her robe and pulling out her gun before slinging the rest over her shoulder. With luck, she'd be able to dig around for some parts to patch up her servo-skull before they all demanded to leave the dump. She should be able to rig up something...
Focus, she told herself as her mind wandered to the ins and outs of the machinery running the servo-skull. She shook her head clear and reassessed the battlefield. The Collectors were losing out, and the walkway looked iffy for footing. Still, the others were competent. They could still pull through.
If she has any action economy left after donning her robe and gun, she'll start down the path, but staying behind at least two others in hopes of avoiding any more hits.
Acrobatics 55: 1d100 ⇒ 49
Game left due to change in work situation
Dodge 25: 1d100 ⇒ 59
Crap, crap, crap, crap, were her thoughts when she saw her beloved servo-skull in a state of disrepair, and only made worse when the culprit responsible lunges towards her. Despite seeing it well in advance, Odette was neither quick nor skilled enough with a weapon to avoid the attack.
Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. While the others are swinging and shooting at the rat on her behalf, she gathers up her gear before doing her best to put a few feet of distance between her and it.
Picking up her gear, prioritizing her autogun if her gear isn't contained in something easy to grab all at once. I didn't find the rules about how long it takes to pick up anything, so assuming that doesn't take a full action, she'll then move 2m away from the rat.

Surprise Round
Odette did her best to climb down, either by climbing down or with the aid of Feliks and what appeared to be someone's coat. She waited patiently for her turn to go down, and once it was, she muttered near-silent prayers that she'd either avoid the worst of the fall, or better yet, find that there is no fall to be had.
Athletics 35 w/ Feliks' help, or 25 if going on her own: 1d100 ⇒ 58
Well, that went poorly, and she found herself flat on her bottom with more than a bit of a bump on her rear at the bottom. The jolt had been bad enough on its own, let alone the bruising reminder she'd carry with her for a few days. Maybe weeks. Months if she was particularly unlucky.
Fall Damage: 1d5 - 1 ⇒ (4) - 1 = 3
Round 1
Odette got up to her feet carefully to avoid losing her footing and to ensure nothing had broken in the fall. Once she was sure that her parts were mostly together, she looked around to get her bearings back now that she was down. At least her optical mechadendrite wasn't broken. That'd have broken her heart!
Awareness 45: 1d100 ⇒ 1
If she's got a lot of space between her and the collectors, or if the others start to move forward and advance, she'll go too, making as straight of a line as possible towards their gear.
Game left due to change in work situation
My target was 10 as a highborn, actually, so I failed, and Volc's was a target of 3+ as a feral worlder, so I believe he actually succeeds. Also, that's awesome Ciaran. I'm still working on reading up on all the talents and such.

Game left due to change in work situation
There's a -20 penalty for untrained skill checks, correct? I'm just curious because I thought Ciaran wasn't trained in either of those Lore checks but I don't see that applied. I'm just trying to get a grasp on all the ins and outs.
Emperor's Blessing: 1d10 ⇒ 9 Failure
Scurrying down the tunnel behind the group, Odette spits a muffled curse quietly as she leans to the side to see around the others at the mouth of the tunnel. The fair skinned, white haired petite woman was quiet enough that it was easy to overlook her existence. She was more or less around to make sure none of them sawed off their own legs. Her dark eyes glanced about as her mechadendrite slithered out for a better view.

Unfortunately, with the others preparing themselves and shuffling about, her optical attachment gets knocked about before she gives up and retracts it with a slight frown in her brow.
"We're really going to engage with--" before she can finish however, Feliks is already preparing to lower Volkrad down. She watches nervously before stepping forward herself in hopes of getting lowered down. Climbing wasn't her forte, and nor was falling.

Hola! Got the character together.
If anyone missed it in the recruitment thread, Odette's a super sneaky unsanctioned psyker. It's something she keeps hidden.
I also welcome anyone to browse over the character. I've got 100XP lef to spend and I was considering using it either for an additional lore of some sort if anyone has any idea what might be helpful there.
Any other suggestions are also more than welcome. I'm new to this so I'm kind of groping around in the dark when it comes to viable builds and such.

Yes! Rogue psyker! I had initially planned a character who was an Adeptus Astra Telepathica, but between what the party's needs were and the fact that we already had one, I thought I might as well break my usual comfort box.
I see her kind of like those quiet, shy librarian types who ends up being an absolute kinky freak in the sheets. But, you know, is instead the studious doctor type who ends up secretly being a psyker. It's something that's new-ish to her and she generally keeps quiet out of shame. She tells herself that her ability to get into peoples heads is just her own intuition and insight, and her ability to wash away fatigue is just a reflection of her skill at being a medic. Of course, she knows that isn't the case and only puts these skills to work behind closed doors (such as a medical room). Like a binge eater who only eats when no one is looking then cries in the closet about it for hours later.
It's definitely something she tries to keep secret and she feels just oodles of shame over it. Not that she's about to admit it. It scares her to some extent, but also gives her a bit of a power rush. She hadn't decided exactly what she's going to do about it, and a good chunk of the reason behind that is her denial that it even exists. Definitely some turmoil going on around the whole thing.
Mimesyne here. Labrat passed out before he could finish, but I expect he'll have his done right quick tomorrow.
Anyways, I'd love if you could take a quick peek at my sheet in my profile to make sure everything is fine and dandy. Also, how was the name Odette not taken >.>;;
I'll get a quick background and fluff written for her tomorrow then, assuming all is well, jump in with her after I'm done at the gym.
