Oda-San seems disappointed in himself for not recognising the spells Mea cast; he makes a mental note to ask about them or otherwise study them later, though he understands he will more than likely never be able to cast them. ((He is unaware of what those spells are, and without knowing them, it is highly unlikely to him that a Kensai Magus could learn them without Spell Blending)) He turns to the gnome, hoping not to distract them from their performance. "Rather persistent one, aren't they?" He indicates the fox gnawing at Mea.
A deceptively sleight, though upon closer inspection somewhat muscular young man dressed in the typical garb of a low-ranking samurai, though armed with only a Haramaki and an unusual-looking Katana enters the sparring ground, composed but with deliberate movement. "I had heard word of a sparring match between swordmasters, and had sought to observe to perhaps gain insight into my still as-of-yet blossoming skills." He spots Ipharrel and Mikomi, having already completed their duel, as well as the other going-ons. Knowledge: Planes to identify Sakuchi's current form: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (11) + 9 = 20 Though initially concerned at the appearance of an Earth Elemental and a pair of what he could only assume to be dragons, ((Unsure of the DCs here)) he quickly ascertains that they are not here as a threat. Dejected at having missed the completion of a martial duel, though still seeing the value in a duel between spellcasters and the like, he assumes a kneeling position next to the Gnome musician, back straight and hands on his knees. ((I'm not sure what the Anglicised phonetics are for the name of the position; that sort of kneeling one typically does in dojos before and after practice, as well as during demonstrations. Si-za may be the correct phonetic spelling)) While kneeling, in order to better observe the duel between what he can only assume to be spellcasters or other similar masters of transmutation, he lets out a brief, quiet incantation, and his eyes briefly flash blue. Spellcraft, DC 10: Yes you guessed it, it's just the cantrip Detect Magic.
Jukutetsu accepts the drink, giving a slight laugh. "Though the Quartermaster's stores of regular stocks may be extensive my friend, speaks nothing of what may or may not have washed up in the market and ended up at our doorsteps. I do believe I can personally attest to such." He then turned to Ben. "Though perhaps somewhat on the wilder side, our gregarious friend is right; whatever weighs upon your mind, if you have taken what precautions you are able to make, it is best not to dwell on such things unnecessarily. And if need be, a responsible drink or two may help."
A young Tian man approaches, with seemingly conflicting brightly coloured eyes, clad in a simple Hakama and Gi, with a Haramaki as his only armour. He carries a single pitch-black katana at his waist. Though with the overall appearance of a lightly armoured and agile warrior-type, a spell component pouch betrays his minor spell casting ability. Knowledge Local DC 10, 5 for those from Tian Xia:
He is of the Tian-min ethnicity, of Minkai. "What appears to be the cause of today's commotion?" knowledge local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14 (Just assuming that another check might be necessary for the armour too. I'm using the same DC for the pens, if appropriate) "Four-mirror armour? That's quite an unusual sight this side of the wall of heaven." knowledge local: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 (Also I'm not sure how to impose a maximum end result of 10 onto the syntax of the dice rolls. I'm just getting used to this)

Is this specifically Arcane Deed, or does this also apply to Flamboyant Arcana too? Because the way I read it, you can't get opportune parry and riposte via Arcane Deed anyway, (or at least, it'd be redundant to do so), as Flamboyant Arcana (which gives you parry and riposte) is a prerequisite of it. |
