Description
Ostensibly fashioned to look like an armadillo, a less charitable observer might describe him as a cross between a flesh golem and a tiny bulette. Huk Huk is 2.5’ in length and weighs 10 lbs.

Backstory:
Nyugusk Newblossom is one of the rarest of half-orcs: one born to loving parents in a community that was reasonably accepting of them.

His mother Koressa, a plumekith aasimar transmuter mage, met his father Hugluk, a half-orc ranger, when they were hired to track and kill a pair of bulettes that had been preying on caravans between Kaer Maga and Korvosa. They fell in love on in their weeks on the trail, adventured together for a dozen years, and eventually deciding to settle down in Absolom, where orc raids and the associated prejudices were more distant.

They had two children. As a statement that their orc heritage was nothing to deny, they chose orcish given names for both kids. For their new family they choose the surname "Newblossom". Their first child, Jurlas exhibited her mother's angelic blood: her emerald skin and pearly tusks were framed with a flowing mane of feathers. Born six years later, Nyugusk in contrast showed no sign of plumekith heritage. His gray-green skin was as pockmarked as his sister's was smooth.

Hugluk felt the weight of raising half-orcs in an unwelcoming world. He emphasized to his children that the world would judge them harshly for their heritage and that they needed to be more disciplined and careful than others. Koressa meanwhile remained impulsive and playful in her parenting, telling her children that nothing mattered more than finding a way to express their own unique selves.

As he grew older, Hugluk became drawn to the discipline of Irori's faith and enrolled the children in a school taught by the Master of Master's monks. Jurlas blossomed there, eventually becoming a monk herself and dedicating herself to self-perfection and enlightenment. Nyugusk struggled much more, ever trying to keep up with his big sister. As he grew he tried fruitlessly to follow in her footsteps. Eventually, when Nyugusk was 13, his big sister (already a monk of Irori at 19 years old) pulled him aside. Jurlas reminded him that there is more than one pathway to self-perfection, and that he needed to find his own path...just like mother always encouraged them.

Nyugusk cried in his sister's arms, sad to admit another way he was unlike her but also relieved of a burden. Jurlas guided her little brother into alchemy…

## Somehow spell out his twist on Irori’s self-perfection a bit -- how believes perfecting and expressing his truest self involves splicing/evolving/transfogrifying into something unique that’s never existed before -- possibly rooted in himself being a mix of orc, human, and (at least theoretically) plumekith.

Personality:

Obsessed with self-perfection; His slant on Irori is unorthodox (to say the least)...but his desire to perfect himself through alchemy is genuine and fierce.
Excitable; His passions run deep and it's easy for him to get carried away with something new and interesting.
Inquisitive; There are Great Things To Discover, and Nyugusk wants to discover them.
Socially cautious; He learned early on to clearly signal he is safe and civilized so as to defuse prejudices
Single minded; When focused on a project he can easily tune out all else.
Devoted to his sister; Everything he does, he considers how Jurlas would react, wanting to impress and please her.

Since taking the serum:
Nyugusk is a broad-chested...something, with a tremendous mane of wiry white hair, a wide, tusk-filled mouth that could swallow a housecat whole, leathery skin the color of burnished copper and intense, beady eyes the color of copper verdigris. His fingers end in knifelike claws. His arms are tattooed with blue lotus flowers interwoven with and transforming into all manner of fantastic beasts

Cognizant of his beastial appearance, Nyugusk takes care to dress finely and keep his clothing clean whenever he’s on the road or out about town. When he’s working in his lab or out in combat, he takes off his jacket and puts on his apron which is thoroughly stained with all manner of chemicals, concoctions, and bodily essences from various creatures.
