What you might want to consider if you want to ride a crocodile is Summoner. Just take an Eidelon with the Mount evolution for 1 point and you are set. Also, later down the road you can give it wins and have a Flying Croc of erm... Doom, yeah Doom.

I agree 20+level is generally the best guide to go by.

By the time you are level 7 or 8 you will regularly be up against enemies with +14 to hit and even with a 27 or 28 AC you are going to get hit almost half the time.

There's always a struggle against how much defense do you want to give up for offense though.

I think the OP's original problem here is that he's looking for the Arcane Duelist to out damage the Inquisitor. Which is making him upset because the Inquisitor can hit extremely hard if made properly.

Now the thing he's overlooking is that the Duelist is going to be a far more versitile character. You don't play a Bard to be the hero you play a Bard to make everyone else look good. Sure in a one on one fight I'd put my money on the Inquisitor, but in mass melee I'd be thanking the Duelist every other round for the bonuses that he's giving the party.

What can I say, I use to play a Bard/Marshal in Greyhawk so I know the benefits of a dedicated party buffer.

Just put your sword down and realize that you can be a great help just by being there as a bard is my advice.

I just wanted to thank Jason for the above listed fixes. They are simple and logical, which is really all that I needed for clarification purposes.

They have not made an official errata file yet. They have a FAQ section which does not seem to have the answer but I will post here anyway because it clarifies some other things. The official answer to your question is on the boards here.

Please for the love of god use the search function people. Someone asked this exact same question yesterday.

Actually, that may have been me. I tried asking yesterday, but the board gave me an error I didn't think it posted.

Ok, I just went looking for errata and could only find errata for the core book.

Do you have the link for the errata for the Advanced Players Guide?

Thanks, I'll look for the errata.

I haven't looked at much else in the book yet, but I hope this isn't indicative of the editing of the book.

True Judgment, Slayer and even the spell Flames of the Faithful all make reference to the Judgment either being at full strength or resetting to starting values.

Now, here is the problem. If you read the description of Judgment as it was published in the Advanced Players Guide it appears to be an all or nothing ability.

Now, I did play an Inquisitor when they were Beta testing so I know how it use to work. With everything starting at 1 and building to 3 over 3 turns, but they changed it in the book to 1 plus 1 every 3-5 levels based on the ability. But there is no mention of it having to build.

Did the people that changed the Judgment ability just forget to check all the other abilities that work off of Judgment or did they just not make it clear that it should build starting at a 1 point bonus and working its way up?
