I'll need to do the crunch, but I'll be forging ahead with Mogrun the Dead-Speaker, a Shamanic elder of the Steel Eater tribe. Background:
Mogrun was once a warrior in the Steel Eater tribe although he was never the best at fighting. He was, however, tenacious. Where other orcs had natural skill with weaponry, Mogrun always had to battle his own body in order to fight even passably well, which shamed him greatly but his pride drove him on.
All of this shame vanished when Mogrun realised he could speak with those who had come before him. He was soon taken under the tutelage of one of the tribe's shamans and he proved to be a quick learner. Unlike many other shamans who had an animal companion, Mogrun seemed to be able to converse with the ancestors of the tribes much more freely than the other shamans and he soon earned the epithet "Dead-Speaker". Mogrun now seeks to expand his power and influence within the power structure of Belkzen. In order to do so, he must take on greater and greater feats of strength with the eventual aim to start his own tribe in the future. Further details and crunch shall be forthcoming.
An interesting concept. Normally I wouldn't go in for this sort of thing, but the caveat regarding the previous worlds has my creative juices stoked. I'll be applying with an Arcanist who hails from the world of Ravnica (one of the worlds that exists within the mythos of Magic the Gathering). The character in question has spent their life to this point researching what is known as evocation magic. They are likable and intelligent, but not powerfully strong nor particularly agile.
DM - ARC, follow the link below to the (free) playtest. I acknowledge that upon OA's release, it may require changes to the character if Medium is amended upon release. As a brief outline, I see the background of the character as being one of the deeply devout of Pharasma. As a Medium, the character borrows the strengths of the recently dead in order to further Pharasma's aim. I would think that the Medium may have even worked with the Lantern Bearers before his own passing. I shall work on the character and post it later today.
With regards the Paizo classes being approved, would this include those classes listed in the Occult Adventures Playtest? I ask as I have an idea to present a mesmerist who publicly is a foppish boor of a minor noble family but privately is a man with laser focus who utilises his psychic abilities to influence both business transactions and combat. He'd be Lawful Evil, with an interest in cultivating his own empire within the nascent nation. As a charismatic individual he'd be interested in either becoming the Spymaster of the nation, or perhaps even leading it. Due to his noble upbringing, I'd visualise him having a manservant who acts as a butler/driver/gofer but would eventually take levels in Barbarian in order to assist his lord with combat and other unsavoury acts. |
