I got us some rooms at the Inn. Nivian is very interested in what they need to learn, but ensuring they have a place to stay is also important, so she figures she might as well throw that out there.
Nivian stows her gear and follows Garion back down to the main entrance. She responds to Pero. Oh yes, he has treated me excellently. Did you know that there are rooms here that are specifically meant for my people? I have never had better accommodations. After he shows you your room, I would be happy to come with you to see the Library and hear the news.

Inn: Oh, amazing. This is lovely, and perfect. How long ago was this, when others of my kind apparently stayed here regularly? I am quite interested to know. As for how many of my companions are staying, I don't know. Some of them likely have homes in town already. I'm sorry. I wish I could give you an estimate.
Nivian addresses Garion. Greetings to you as well. I am Nivian. I come to Evereska with a group that fled the destruction of the Halfway Inn where I used to perform regularly. We are seeking to inform people of the threat of the Dark Knight as well as discover what we can about how to end her threat to the world. I am working on a composition about the ordeal and would love to perform it here, if you have any availability. I assure you that it would also entertain. I would be happy to audition for you if you like. ... I would also like to obtain a room here in case it is needed. I was too far away at my lake last time the Dark Knight struck. I may like to stay closer now.
Made it to the new place. Still have to unpack, but should be back to normal tomorrow hopefully.
Nivian stops by a local spring and bonds to it, and then goes to the Unicorn and Crescent to arrange a room and ask if she can perform.
Sorry guys, but I am in the middle of moving, and my posting is going to be spotty between now and the 15th. Packing up the truck tomorrow, and should be in Utah and able to post again consistently (hopefully) around then. Those are pretty heavy rules. What counts as undue noise? Do you guys allow singing? ... Is there an inn? I don't really want to do research or wait until after a report in order to secure a place to stay, and maybe even perform (if it isn't "undue noise.") ... Happy to join you at a library after I get a room though, Henris.
Nivian smiles, and when they are past the guardian and out of range of hearing, she asks So, what are the rules and traditions of Evereska that you just agreed that I would follow?
We managed to avoid being murdered in the middle of the night. When I came to help, I was able to drag one person out who had been attacked and left for dead, but couldn't help others. We gathered the survivors and ran with the Black Knight at our heels.
Nivian waits to see if she will be allowed within the city.
After searching and finding nothing, Nivian looks grim and says We may as well move on.
Nivian bows, smiling, to the elf who said her voice was beautiful, and then proceeds into the inn to help with the search.
Nivian addresses the elves stepping out of their homes. Perhaps you recognize me. My name is Nivian and I had been a performer here for a long time. My friends were staying here during the attack, and I personally witnessed the Dark Knight and her minions slaughtering many who I had worked with and loved. We were able to escape the slaughter, and save very few, and we left here with the Dark Knight pursuing us. They were too strong, and we couldn't stand against her. We return now to see what there is to save, and how we can help. Has she been back? What can we do to help your town, and rebuild?
Nivian approaches the Inn, dreading what she will find, but also feeling that it needs to be done. How much time passed when they were in the tower? Have the dead been buried? She doesn't know the answers to these questions, but is determined to find whatever answers she can.
We are agreed as to where to go. The question is how. If we go straight in it is a 2 day journey, but as we all remember, we fled because an army was chasing us. If we didn't kill the dark knight in the past, then she'll still be waiting for us. If we *don't* go straight in, we could either go around the 10 day route with more difficult terrain, or the 5 day route which takes us closer to places we know were dangerous. Needless to say, no route is hazard-free. And then, of course, when we arrive, not all of us will be welcome, since we are not all elves. Not our biggest challenge or one that we need confront today, but something to think about for when we do arrive. What sort of argument can we make for keeping the party together... or are you willing to leave us behind?

Yay for level up. Question though... are they going to let the non-Elves into Evereska?
Nivian wonders if they are even siblings, or if they are actually part of one another. She also notes the affect of Henris's song, so she decides to help. She starts singing, strengthening the melody that Henris is singing, but also adding depth and richness to the song, emphasizing the power of good and its ability to triumph over evil, not solely through battle, but by learning a new way of doing things and realizing that we need to change.
Nivian shoots again.
Nivian moves forward and tries to shoot the black knight in the face, still angry about the fire and all the people that she watched die.
Her emotion gets the better of her though, and she almost shoots herself in the foot instead. She takes a few breaths and tries to focus for another try.
May as well try at this point, I think.
Are you saying we *ethically* can't? That's causing the curse. Will anything less end the curse? If we don't know how or it cannot be destroyed by normal means, then we need to find a way. If we can destroy the curse and not the kiira, then great, but giving Raurniel peace from her life of torture is more important than any heirloom.
Nivian realizes that she is repeating herself, but she can't help it. Shouldn't we just destroy it?
I think that we should destroy it... Nivian says, too late to stop Iym.
Can we tell if the kiira is the anchor to the curse?
Nivian uses detect magic to try to identify the aura.

Nivian tells Henris, who is holding the box, that she doesn't think that it is trapped, hoping he will open it.
You have the stairs up in the central room, and you could explore around the wall a bit more.
Nivian searches the library for any other clues or anything else of note.
Nivian pulls detect magic up again... is there anything in here that could be the anchor to this curse... the "kiira" likely would radiate some strong magic if it is around somewhere.
Is there a book in here that looks like the one the boy was reading?
Nivian waits to see if the child responds to Iym, and then asks What are you reading?
(to see the source of the rustling papers) Pulling detect magic back up, Nivian looks around to see if there is a source of magic nearby that could be the curse. She also takes a look at the small room filled with books to determine if any of them are magic.
Nivian uses Prestidigitation to clean the blood off everyone, including clothing and hair, hoping that will bolster everyone's courage as well.
Nivian starts singing a song to inspire courage in her fellow refugees.
Nivian nods, and starts toward the library and personal rooms, with Detect Magic up, and attempting to follow the magic tied to Raurniel.
