Niveus was born in Kalsgard with in the jade quarter his family had called home for a generation. His birth was considered very strange for he was born with pale white fur, not an entirely unknown condition if a highly rare one. Yet the greater oddity was his eyes, piercing bright green, such a color was completely unheard of. His family simply thought it a side effect of their recent home in a new land. When he first took human form as a child like many of kind some features remained in common with his true form. Among them were his eyes as was expected but so did his hair reflect in it's whiteness and lack of color the condition of his true form. Marking him clearly as unusual regardless of form he took on.
Over time his family moved on from Kalsgard, seeking a less robust and cold place to call home. They headed towards Varisia with it's warmer climate and interesting people. Coming across a caravan they were welcomed to join and did so. Spending time with the native people of the land gave them a good understanding of the state of things in Varisia. As such they journeyed to Sandpoint, thinking it a rather idle place to make a more permanent home. No mere village yet not another bustling city that would dampen their spirits and free nature. It was at this time that Niveus met a local tien like himself, a girl named Ameiko Kaijitsu. While their was an age gap it did not matter and the two became fast friends. Ameiko's warm nature a contrast to Niveus cooler one, not that it stopped him from being a charmer in his own way. As the years passed Niveus spent more time helping his family in their business as minor merchants and traders in town, his dealing ability impressive despite his age and lack of worldly experience.
His curiosity about the religion of his distant homeland and of his family manifested as well during this time. He learned of the gods both great and small, most importantly the patron of his kind and family. Daikitsu lady of foxes, said to appear as a female snow white member of their race with nine tails and breath taking beauty. Seemed his parents considered him favored by her due to his appearance yet never told him so. Another goddess that oddly drew his attention yet he did not let on to his family was Nalinivati the serpent's kiss. Who strangely enough had an odd and rumor filled connection to their patron Daikitsu. He followed his families favored god Daikitsu himself shortly after, but secretly he also followed Nalinivati for some strange reason he could never explain to himself.
Yet it was all useless when Sandpoint was attacked and trouble came to call. His talents and devotion seemly without worth. It was by sheer luck that his best friend survived and the town along with her, with no small help from some adventurers granted. It was during this time four years ago that Niveus under threat of murdering goblins became aware of the extent of strangeness in his blood. With an outstretched hand burst color and light dropping no less then three attacking goblins at once. After that fateful day he noticed other emerging abilities, he had grown an extra tail in his true form and his human form had two long thick strands of hair growing from the back of his head. A few years later he discovered he could produce long fangs otherwise hidden in his mouth complete with poison. While he tried to hide these changes he was interested as well to their source and how far he could bring them to bare. So began his double life, a good son taking to the family business and a boy becoming a man through self reflection and experimentation. Yet it was not long before his double life was wearing thin and he knew the day would come when he would have to choose his fate.

Human Form:
Niveus is somewhat tall and lithe of build. His skin is eternally pale regardless of his exposure to the sun. His eyes the common shape of the tien people with the uncommon shade of intense jade green. His hair is pure white shoulder length save for two long braids that sprout from the back to end at the back of his knees.
True Form:
His rarely seen true form is physically much the same as his human form in size and build. The greatest differences being his fox head, fur coat, and two tails moving about behind him. For those that know him ether form shows the person he is looking back below the surface.
While he often wears the garb and trinkets of a merchant or trader when dealing with such in kind. Personally he favors the unrestrictive, functional, and comfortable clothing of his people across the world. Despite this he prefers subdued and common colors in response to his naturally outlandish appearance. Yet he is never without a few favored items on his person. His haramaki around his waist, hanbo in hand as a walking stick, and a gourd with a pair of wooden trinkets dangling from it's middle tied to his belt.
