Sovereign Court

I have a player in my AoW campaign who is interested in a sort of "save game" item so he is asking about beads of summoning. Never having had a player in my 20+ years of DMing use one of these things I am curious what people might think this would summon. A servant of the wielders god is kinda vague.
Should this perhaps be something that scales with level? O', kinda leaning to having it summon the gods herald, but as they are all level 11 and it is I believe in the lvl 15 range that might be pushing it. So, I am curious what other people might think that this thing does.

If it matters, it is a lvl 11 Inquisitor of Erastil that is asling.

I am curious if the Outlander trait is legal in PFS. I have seen both yes and no answers upon searching around but nothing definite. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, is there gonna be a new PFS rulebook released at Gen Con?

Without poring over the list, does anyone happen to know of any scenarios that take place specifically in Taldor or better yet in Oppara?

Just curious if someone could actually tell me why cold iron has that additional 2000gp tax when you enchant it. Looking at the other special materials, it seems it is the only one that does. I get the additional cost to make the base weapon, adamantine, mithril, and silver have that as well. I just don't get the enchantment tax. Anyone?

On friday I was in a game in which a player failed a roll and tried to use his shirt that he had with him. The DM refused to let him use it as he was not wearing it. Keep in mind it was sitting in his bag next to him on the floor. The DM also went on to state that if someone tried to use the new character folio and didn't have it sitting on the table the entire time he wouldn't let them use it either.

The player of course didn't get his prestige quest finished, though the rest of the players tried to help him. None of our level 1 characters could make the check so he lost out.

My question is this. I was under the assumption that as long as you had a shirt with you you were golden. If Mike or someone high up could saye what exactly is the rule that would be great. Cause it kinda sucked for everyone else to get his prestige quest done but this guy didn't.

I have to say I am deeply unhappy with the way this was done. I had 4 events scheduled this past week and 3 out of 4 times the mustering was just terrible. Keep in mind for this I had actual tickets and not generics.

THURSDAY: Showed up 15 minutes early for muster at the "B" sign. Watched as groups were formed of people with generics ahead of us. Twenty minutes after we (my group of 3) were supposed to have started we were given a table in the overflow room with 1 other person. Didn't start playing for 10 minutes after that. We told we had to play up with just 4 people. Fine, whatever, we beat it and moved on.

FRIDAY: Showed up 15 minutes early, The person manning that sign was on the ball. We seated for the game on time and had a great time.

SATURDAY: Oh my.... still leery about the mustering, we went to "B" a 1/2 hour early and sat down in front of the door. Same guy as thursday was mustering. We told him right away we had tickets and what event were for. Long painful story short, we didn't get a table or DM until 8pm, and when we did we were tossed in Sagamore Hall C, the oveflow room of the overflow room. The DM we did finally get was seeing the module for the first time, and wasn't given time sheets, tokens, or the reporting sheet. Of course, he didn't realize this until the 5th encounter. We sent a player to grab those things from the main room and he said the staff seemed rather surprised there were tables going. Didn't finish that scenario til' 1am. Sadly, there was still a group who hadn't finished when we left. Also, never saw a single PFS official in Sagamore the entire night.

SUNDAY: At this point we assumed we were gonna get screwed again and while we started late it wasn't nearly as bad as the night before. Maybe a 1/2 hour before we actually started the scenario. At least we were in the main room this time

Basically, to define the new mustering system as chaotic is to insult the word chaotic. Josh Frost standing on a crate with a megaphone was far better this what we experienced, and alot more amusing to boot.
I suppose the biggest problem I had were the players who only had generics being seated at tables before the players who had actual tickets. I don't really blame those players. They just want tables and to play. But I paid for those tickets well ahead of time and I have the expectation that I would not be treated like a non-entity.

I know 3 billion will now come out of the woodwork saying it wasn't nearly that bad. Lemme tell ya. I'm not the only one who had a problem with this. Just because usual forum voices say it was great doesn't mean it was.

Gonna put this here, as hopefully those in charge of PFS play will see it.

Every year at Gen Con, Paizo has given out buttons at thier booth, which many, many people like to collect. However, since they have only a limited supply of them, those that are doing PFS scenarios in the morning are usually out of luck in getting them before they ar unavailable.
Now, what my group of friends is doing is nominating someone to "go to the bathroom" at 10 when the dealer hall opens and getting enough for everyone. I'm not a huge fan of this, as I would rather be playing the scenario.
My suggestion is this, and it seems to be a fairly simple one. Hand out the buttons to those playing the scenarios. I have never figured out why this was never done. Anyways, I know this is a minor issue in the grand scheme, but call it a reward to those who are playing the morning sessions.

I know await the legions of players who will disagree with me. :)

Finally started up my Age of Worms campaign after having finished my Against the Giants campaign, which made it to lvl 19 by the time we ended.
The PC's
Chance- Aasimar sorcerer
Sasha - Human Barbarian
Alexander -Human Inquisitor
Orchid -Elven Warlock
Eydis -Aasimar cleric of Abadar
Claire -Human ranger (DMPC)

After reading several suggestions about how to start the campaign, I had settled with everyone having grown up in Diamond Lake. The first couple hours was filled up with talking to the various townsfolk, learning the local politics and alliances and so forth. Once they were done, Alastor started them off.

Alastor had to go to Oppara to meet with an associate of his (Eligos, whom they won't meet at this point) and wanted the PC's to accompany him. Having nothing better to do, and wanting to see the big city they agreed.

Once they arrived Alastor put them up in an inn, told them he would be a few days, and he would fetch them when he was done. he then left them to thier own devices.

I had decided to use "Mad Gods Key" as the first adventure and it started promptly the next day. As they ate breakfast they spied some thugs breaking into the shop across the street. Eydis was rather annoyed by this lawlessness and confronted them. A fight quickly broke out, which ended with a barbarian standing over 2 corpses. A third thug came out, saw his friends in a heap, and promptly gave up and sang like a canary.

They caught up with Irontusk, who had been fingered by the thug as "The guy who hired me" and quickly tried to capture him. Irontusk almost got away, but just as he got to the dock where his boat was kept, Chance caught up with him and smacked him with a color spray. He was quickly tied up and interrogated, giving the party the location of the gang who had hired him. Irontusk was turned over to the guard and the party set off.

Once arriving at the abandoned house, they broke in and slowly fought their way thru the house. A rogue with a crossbow gave them all sorts of trouble as they tried to ascend to the second floor, and the twin halflings caused much annoyance. Finally arriving at the door of the gang leader, the party was in no mood to negotiate, so they broke down the door and had at it. This is where they learned that a level 3 spell caster can give 6 level 1's all kinds of problems. Though all the party was near death at the end, they managed to hit him with a color spray and ended the fight. After much looting and interrogating we decided to end for the night at that point.

About Vomit Guy

All I ever wanted to do was bring joy, laughter, and something resembling pea-soup to the world. Is that so wrong?

I still miss the other sections of the board, and often look upon them with something akin to longing. I used to visit them on occasion, just to try and inject a little humor (so to speak) into threads that were starting to turn nasty. Unfortunately, I accrued some followers who then got out of hand. Then some whiny little baby sent in a complaint, and - BAM, I'm confined to the Off-Topic Section. There was also some lame note about me not being funny.

It ain't easy being me.
