Ok... so using the vigor and wounds variant system and using a bow... I killed the level 19 fighter... at level 3

Yeah, the level 3 vs a level 19 thing is just our crazy DM, there are 'special' circumstances that make it that we 'can' hurt him, but he could just one shot us.
I think my problem with the ability is the term 'Reversal' as the ability when it is actually 'redirecting' the attack, not 'reversing' it.

Ok, so I'm part of a party, we're level 3, and we fought a level 19 free hand fighter and I realized the reversal ability of the free hand fighter is ridiculous.
Is it really intended to be that is Character A attacks Enemy B (the free hand fighter) using reversal he can redirect the attack to Bystander C?
That makes no sense. Is this just a non-intended use of the a poorly written ability?

Yeah, sadly I think I should go for RAI rather than RAW. This particular character is in a very low magic game (basically none) so awakening isn't possible :(
Thanks everyone

As the title implies, I want to take an animal as my cohort (a hawk specifically) and nothing in the rules states I can't.
Thoughts?

Cool, I usually wait until the entire Adventure is printed before looking it over but may have to get this one bit by bit. Thanks

Sounds good to me, it's so simple I couldn't think of it. Thanks

So I just got 'People of the Stars' and started reading through the races outlined in it (gotta say I am a huge fan of the Kasatha design) and realized that none of the races have any physical statistics or outlined age categories.
The Androids entry mentioned they 'live' for roughly a century and then their soul or whatever leaves their shell and a new one moves in and the Kasatha mention their adolescent quests but that's it.
I understand that since this is a Player's Companion that not all the non-game mechanic details could make it in, but when I started thinking about making a character with any of these races I couldn't decide on a personality, habits, quirks or flaws because I couldn't come up with an age.
Also, I know that all the races in this book are medium-sized, but how tall are the Lashunta compared to Humans, heck the man and women of that race are called out specifically for being drastically different.
Again, I apologize for running on for so long, and I could just make a character and say they are middle-aged and average height and enjoy the experience just fine, but character weight and height come up often in the games I'm a part of, so it bothers me slightly.
If anyone could alleviate my concerns I would very much appreciate it.

Thanks, it is sad that I was mistaken but it's good to know.
Please check my post. The gloves work fine, the sash does not for a Two Handed Fighter.

Sweet, so I was half-right and half wrong :)

Thanks, it is sad that I was mistaken but it's good to know.

A class-specific item should work fine with an archetype so long as (a) the archetype is of the correct class and (b) the archetype has any features being modified by the item.

Since a two-handed fighter doesn't have bravery, weapon training, or armor training, those items wouldn't work for a two-handed fighter.

A gladiator, on the other hand, would get the normal effects for weapon and armor training. He would not get any boost to his non-existent bravery feature, and he would not get a boost to his fame feature even though it replaces bravery.

Thank you, I can see your reasoning

Ok, so it has been brought to my attention that class specific items do not work with archetypes because the archetype switches out the class feature they interact with. My thought was that the item functions with the new class feature as normal, am I wrong?

example:
A 10th level Two-Handed Fighter picks up Gloves of Dueling and Sash of the War Champion.
The gloves grant a +2 bonus to weapon training and the sash treats your fighter level 4 higher for bravery and armor training.

Since the fighter at 10th level would have weapon training 2, armor training 2 and bravery +3; the archetype would change it to two-handed weapons training 2, overhand chop and back swing, and shattering strikes +3.
With the equipment would the two-handed weapons training gain the +2 bonus, would he gain access to the piledriver class feature, and would shattering strikes increase to +4?
