The mercenaries don’t so much as turn their head, all looking vigilantly forward as Halcyon turns the corner. Outside the event and past the plumed soldiers, Mako begins to bark. His sounds aren't audible from inside the warehouse. “Arf, er-ruff. Yip! Woof, wa-ruff...”
Halcyon:
Mako expresses a genuine, panicked fear around the “short woman.” He expresses that something is wrong, that she isn’t normal, in a way that frightens him. The dog seems confused that you don’t share the same reaction, like merely being around her isn’t burdening you. He says that many of the guests seem strange to him, including Marcus and the well-dressed woman you identified as Romane Vieuxpont. He says there may be others, but among the dozens of guests and smells of food, he thus far has only smelled something off about those three. He confirms he hasn't smelled the scent of the Man in the Mirror or the Spymaster.
Mako tells you that he will fight his urge to run from the "short woman," and if need be, protect you if it meant him eventually reunited with Liliane.
