Myst eye was born in a small halfling caravan between Magnimar and Sandpoint. It was a good life, traveling the countryside from town to town. Her formative years were spent seeing the wilds of Varisia, and learning her sorcerous abilities. But when travelling near the Fenwall mountains, the caravan her family was traveling with was attacked by a band of raiding giants. It was a slaughter, with many dying, including her family. She was captured with the survivors, driven to a cave complex, and hurled into the giant’s larder. One by one, her companions were taken and eaten.
She was rescued from death by a group of traveling rangers who slew the giants, and freed the survivors. But her captivity changed her. She was no longer the happy go lucky halfling she once was.
Hardened, and somewhat cold, she stayed with the rangers for a time learning fighting techniques against giants. But she realised she wasn’t a ranger. Needing to find a different way to fight giants she left them and went to Magnimar for a while, and learned a more agile form of combat. Other skills she learnt helped to feed her, the skills of theft and stealth. But again, she felt it wasn’t enough. She needed allies. Maybe she could find them in Magnimar, but in truth she didn't like it there. Too many people, uncaring of others except in how they could exploit them. Nothing like the caravan she grew up in.
Then news. Sandpoint, a town nearby was having a festival, something religious. As a child, her family visited Sandpoint once or twice a year, and on hearing about the festival, she realised she may like it better there. Mysty is searching for allies, and friends, something she hadn't found in Magnimar. Smaller than Magnimar, the locals were more relatible to her. Maybe she could find people who were not like those in the big city. Maybe friends. In Magnimar she had associates, not friends. Gathering her gear, she left Magnimar and set out to Sandpoint.
personality:
Mysty is a damaged person, who seeks two things. Vengeance against Giants, and a new family. She tells herself she wants allies, but she wants friends. She is very serious, and methodical, and can seem cold. She can (and does) but on a happy halfling act if needed, but her nature is quiet. She tends to worship Desna, but has no real heart for it. She is indeed at a crossroad, either to heal, or to sink into darkness.
