So here's a question from a curious author (who's also a fan of playing paladins, but has rarely written about characters of that sort).

What would you guys want to see in a paladin-focused Pathfinder (or similar) story?

Do you prefer the righteous paladin vs. the forces of darkness in a (relatively) black-and-white situation? Or do you prefer the paladin who's forced into periods of reflection and doubt because he's pitted against foes who aren't obviously evil, or because he's forced to make tough moral choices that darker/more "gray" heroes wouldn't think twice about?

Or a combination of both? Or neither, and you're looking for something else?

What is it about a paladin, specifically, that you want to see/read about?

Also, although it would make my fiance's day, I'm fairly sure the Force Missile Mage shouldn't get d8 hit die.

I'm guessing, anyway.

I don't think it's just the FMM. Is the osteomancer supposed to have d8 HP? (I'm not certain this is a mistake, as I am with the missile mage; just wondering.)

The blessed of Gruumsh gives conflicting information on AC bonuses. The text says the AC bonus is equal to class level, while the table gives a much more moderate AC progression. I know the general rules is that text trumps table, but my instinct is that the table's correct in this case.

In the battle-dancer entry, the "dance of reckless bravery" is listed on the table as "battle dancer's performance."

I was going to mention the missing CR and level adjustments on the templates, but someone beat me to it. :)

By the way, for fear of letting this thread get too negative, let me just chime in with the fact that, despite these errors, I've found this book to be more than worth the cost, and I'm eagerly awaiting an announcement of Volume 2. :)

Oh, yes. Definitely the best article in that issue--and considering that statement's coming from a guy who wrote one of the issue's other articles, I'd like to think it means something. :-)

Okay, this may just be the coolest thing I've yet heard, in regards to what people are doing with my Ebon Maw article. Kudos for coming up with the idea; it's actually better than anything I've done with Turaglas in my own games. :-)

I'll be watching this thread with great interest, and I hope you'll continue to post as your campaign progresses, and tell us how it's going.

The above-quoted text exactly describes my plan for Maure Castle, and pinpoints the exact reason why I was excited about the feature in the first place (beyond the obvious appeal of collaborating with Gary Gygax and Rob Kuntz).

Hey, Erik, is there any possibility of the Maure Castle maps ever being made available as PDFs? I'd love to easy access to them without mangling or cutting up the magazine. :-)
