I been running around the land for a bit now, trying to rise in the ranks of a cleric. It was not until today I noticed priests handing out quests for each individual god. But so far I have not seen a sign of my revered unholy mother, Lamashtu. Some hippy wanted me to kill some of her children but much to my disappointment, seeking out her children did not give me renegade option to join them.

So has anyone else seen a priest of Lamashtu in the river kingdom? If so I'd love to know where.

Something I have not seen much discussion on, is the games armour design. It looks pretty good! I certainly like it, mage hats not withstanding... But as a druid/wild cleric player, I haven't seen anything quite my style.

I want to play a character I could see living in the wild, while not limiting myself to leather armour. Some rugged up chain mail, dented shoulder plates, stuff that makes it seem as though he has seen some hard living in the wilds.

Its not a make or break issue for me. But still I wanted to voice my input on the matter.

Hi there! I apologize if this sort of thing does not belong on this forum. But I've tried my luck in threads devoted to the subject but I have thus far failed to yield any results from that.

So yeah long story short I missed the kick starter, due to a lack of word of mouth and financial income. Sadly the latter is yet to change but I have saved up for just such a occasion like this!... the market being open again that is.

Problem of course being that for the daily deals (which I really want!) I'd have to spend a ungodly amount of money. So I just wanted to see if anyone out there could make me their shield mate? I'd be willing to earn it! I have been preping to make pathfinder movies once the game is released. It has always been a dream of mine to make movies out of the plots I weave within games with my friends and I hope PFO will finally be the place for me to start.

What I am offering is Art assets. A sword perhaps? A ancient family tomb? A character of your choice, you name it and I'll make it as a sign of gratitude for your help in this matter. I could even help you making a recruitment video for your chartered company! To see some of my work you can follow the links below.

Having read the most recent update, it seems injuries are going to be a serious matter. Which I like! It is another thing which blend story and game play beautifully. Making you dread every encounter you might encounter on the road.

The thing that got me though is if there would be any friendly duelling or sparing. I have had so much good RP revolving around duels and usually the way I learn to pvp, is to slam my head against the best pvper on the server, again and again until I stand half a chance.

So my question is, will there be some kind of friendly duelling system, which would allow two people to train against one and another without resorting to murder, or bringing each other down to 1% health making them a easy target for passing assassins?

I feel as tough I should make a thread regarding this subject sense its been a popular topic around me lately. Not aimed to pathfinder but other games and the real world in general.

Should different mounts have practical uses or should it just be cosmetic? Now of course pretty much every mount in the history of gaming has given a speed buff. What I am talking about is adding more abilities to it.

Lets for example take Star wars for example. On Hoth people rode Tauntaun's, because the extreme colds often froze mechanical vehicles. Like wise the Varactyl was used in the movies for its ability of climbing walls, allowing Obiwan to approach a hostile base undetected.

Now with another new patch in SWTOR you can ride both these animals, but their really just cosmetic. The tauntaun is meant to be much slower than a seeder, but can easily match any speed available in the game. And of course the Varactyl can't scale walls.

This really doesn't sit well with me. I hate when different mounts just look differently. I much preferred Age of conans approach, where horses were fast, Mammoth's were essentially tanks which could be used in combat to stomp down your enemy and the rhino was a good old mix of both. Also in one of the conan books, he use a camel to outrun his perusers, explaining that the camel, while slow will be able to go on longer than any horse could ever hope to. Slow and steady wins the race!

I think following in that spirit could add a lot to the games open feel. Perhaps sneaky little haflings will mount dogs? Not nearly as fast as a horse but can easily navigate through the untamed forest areas and make quick turns to lose perusers on horse back.

Also in one game one of my friends mounted a rustmonster. Killed in combat but it meant he had to settle for leather armour!

What say you? Are you fine with mounts doing nothing more than boosting your speed? Or would you like each kind to be added to have its own pros and cons in terms of gameplay?

In addition, what mount would you like to see in the game?

I've been considering this matter for some time. Should there be racials in the game? Is it something which should be carried over from the board game? On the one side it adds some flavor to the characters and it can guide people to play into the culture of their chosen race. Dwarves being tough and having a bonus in blacksmithing for example.

However my worry is the abuse that often come with racials. In wow a solid party of Blood elves could silence groups of spell casters long enough for the bunch to fall before a single spell could be cast. During my last play through of neverwinter night I was near unbeatable with my tieflings darkness racial, reducing epic battles, into pitiful massacure.

My fear is that people would mass to one race for specific perks and abilities, rather than playing as the race they desire to play as.

But at the same time racial would punish, if not prevent people of rolling a certain race for the sake of a “troll”character. Let the orc bard struggle for his art and the gnome warrior to over come his physical disadvantage.

There are many pros and cons to the matter and I am not sure if Goblinworks have said anything regarding the matter.

What do you think of the topic?

There are two MMO's I am holding out my heart for at the moment. Pathfinder and world of darkness. Both are promising similar things and only time will tell which one will be better.

However it was while I browsed for World of darkness news, when I heard about the blood hunt. Where the prince of a city can mark one individual for permanent death.

This really excited me! I always found permanent deaths to be overly harsh. But making it a event rather than a regular thing adds a lot of spice to it. It got me thinking.

What if your at war with a kingdom and your forces are evenly matched. But there is one thing which could turn the tides. Making a pact with a great power, you mark one individuals soul to damnation, making it impossible to revive him if he would fall in battle.

Perhaps the King of the enemy would be a worthy target? Or perhaps better yet, his greatest champion.

Suddenly the enemy is forced to take different stradegies. Perhaps the champion will focus on training his men in the safety of his keep. Maybe the king will double his efforts to rule his kingdom behind the front lines. Or maybe they get desperate enough to initiate a plan which will either save their kingdom or forever doom it.

Now personally I'd want this to be a great event and not some thing to be done on a whim. I know the fans of world of darkness talked about using it to get rid of trolls and gold farmers. Which while tempting, seems to cheapen it a bit. I'd really want it to come at a high price and maybe it could only be done once a month or even year to really make you think twice about calling forth this power.

I don't know if this is something Goblinworks have talked about before. But if not, I thought I'd throw my suggestion in there!

I think we have all had the perfect name in mind for a character at one point or another. I know I do for Pathfinder, one with a clever yet cruel twist on it, given the characters heritage.

And of course we have all been there when a name has been taken and we are forced to settle on a lesser one... Or you are forced, FORCED I say! To settle for a stupid name, which sounds more like someone choking on their own tongue than anything else.

Now out of all games I've played, Neverwinter was the best one at combating this. By giving you the ability to use two words for your name. It is a really nice idea! And it makes perfect sense! I know four Dennis's in real life and it is their last name which makes them stick out.

This would allow you to go with a simple, yet awesome name, combined with a unique last name! Or a title of course. For example in SWTOR my character is named Battlemaster Bloodmourn, using the pvp rank and naming myself by his last name.

Leaders of guilds could give themselves awesome titles like "Dragonlord Magnus" or "Arcmage Abbadon" It allows a lot more variety and keeps you from getting stuck with names like Aldrrasesh.

I was talking to my fellow guildies the other night. We were looking at information about the games skill system and the class archetypes, when one of us suddenly mentioned it seemed horribly broken.

From the information we read, it seems as though we can train in any class, any stat and when we max out in one we can move onto the next.

Great in theory! Once my paladin has achieved the highest state of enlightenment it makes sense for him to become a fighter to further improve his sword play, so he may better fight in his gods name.

But what if I went with something akin to a monk tank and cleric healing hybrid? Suddenly I'd have a character capable of dodging and tanking naked with insane counters. And with the cleric benefits he could wear heavier armor if he needed it and his healing spells would be insane. Suddenly we have two of the most difficult to kill types in PvP rolled into one.

And what is to say it stops there? Why not go for a even tankier class next? Or go with heavy DPS so now your not only immortal but you also hit like a truck!

Me and my friends have all seen this before and the thought terrified us. So in a attempt to calm our nerves we hit the internet for answers, but no official words to calm us was found.

So is there any answers out there as to how Pathfinder would avoid this? Do you have a suggestion on how to solve the problem?

Personally I'd limit the player to two classes. They can train in more but only two can be active at one time and you can only have 20 levels (going by the PnP system) spread across both classes, so you can't max out in both.

I think the player should be allowed to change class once a day. Allowing you to train and experience other classes, while not abusing the game by changing class back and forth in a fight.

There is a point in pretty much every game of pathfinder, when the PC's start reaching for higher powers, be they wicked or benevolent. Indeed certain faiths such as that of Lamashtu is devoted to purging yourself of your humanity.

So as a huge fan of Lamashtu, I feel the polymorph spell is pretty much a must for me from a RP stand point.

But I'd also love a corruption system which slowly change you into a demon, a ritual to turn you into a lich or some way to turn into a werewolf or any of the other awesome were-creatures.

Now I realize the latter will most likely not be in the game at launch and I am not saying it should be. None the less I wished to express my thoughts on the matter in hopes that it may become a priority once the core game is complete.

After all when you hit level twenty, in the PnP system, your well on your way to become a demi-god. It would be neat if higher leveled players had something to display their power and devotion in the game, by ascending into a higher form. Now personally I'd want it to be something akin to the Jedi knight in the original galaxies, something you really have to work hard for and perhaps something you could even receive massive penalties for to discourage everyone from becoming demons.

Maybe obtaining demonhood will lock a permanent heinous flag onto your character? Maybe becoming a devine creature keeps you from doing PvP, instead devoting your life to guide the mortals path in life. Maybe as a werewolf you sometimes lose control? You could be fighting a boss, have a careful strategy to taking him down in mind, when suddenly your character goes bersek. All control is taken from you as he goes into a wild frenzy. Powerful yes, but unreliable.

That is my thoughts on the matter. I really think it would add a lot to the game.

Thus far I am pretty happy with the alignment penalties put in place and I do say this as a player intending to be evil or at least chaotic. I don't know how much the trainers will effect your impact on the game, but I do know that in a MMO you always max out eventually.

Even then from what I understand you can go into other players towns to talk to their trainers there, so it all seems fairly straight for me.

What did kind of jab at me was the lack of penalty towards slavery or at least from what I heard.

This is what I get from what I read.

So alright good players get the best trainers, there for they can build the best stuff.

Fair enough.

Evil players get slaves for cheap labour, allowing them to expand quicker and for less money.

Fair enough.

But what you might do and indeed I have seen TONS of people say they will do this. Is to play a good guy. Get the benefits. Enslave someone, do a few good deeds, enslave someone else, etc. Suddenly you end up with a force of good which has all benefits of either alignments.

So what I'd suggest is a even harsher alignment punishment for the act of slavery. After all you are hold someone captive against their will, robbing them of all their freedom and reducing them to little more than a beast of burden. Not to even get into the whole undead thing....

Sense you are essentially tormenting these poor souls on a daily basis, it only seems fitting your kingdom reflects this, putting more points towards evil for each day you force the people to do your bidding against their will.
